How long into your relationship did you get engaged?

Just that really! Interested to see when people decided to put a ring on it. I know no two relationships are the same but I am intrigued having a baby and coming up to our second year anniversary makes the question play in my mind more so as to when things like this follow?

We got engaged after 11 years and 2 dc. Been married 18 years this year.

Met in 1992
He proposed in 1996
We married in 1997

Still married and in love. He is my rock.
First baby born in 2000

9 years. But we met at 20.
My parents got married 8 weeks after meeting. My mum said she knew she'd marry him when he sat down next to her on a train. Married for 43 years.

2 months. Married over 30 years and counting

One week.

Four months and married nine weeks later.

6 years and a baby before he proposed lol

Nine we got together as teenagers though. I would imagine it would have been quicker if we had meet in our 20’s

Got together when I was 19, DH was 22
Engaged after 16 months
Married 5 years after meeting
1st baby when we had been together 7 years
2nd baby when we had been together 8 years
We have now been together 23 years

This was 17 years ago. Still together.

First child born in June the next year.

I must say it's quite refreshing and hopefully to hear about everyones marriage stories. I seem to always see threads on here about cheating and mistreatment so it's nice to read

In terms of children I think they are both a commitment and responsibility. Whether or not the parents stay together they are committed to raising and bringing a child into the world.

6 years. I was very impatient by that point after watching all my friends get engaged after a couple of years. We had been living together for several years and went on holiday for my 30th birthday. I remember I was so annoyed that it had taken him so long to propose that I had prepared a speech for the flight back about commitment. Luckily he proposed during the trip!

Together about 6 months, proposal then married 5 months after that.

Got engaged 1 year after meeting. Married 2 years after meeting. Now been married over 15 years - together almost 18 years.

5 years. Then had 2 kids and got married after a 7 year engagement!

Engaged after 8 years married 5 years later. We are now together 18 years.

Five years between getting together and getting engaged. But we were in our early twenties when we met and didn’t have children so e we didn’t need to rush.

3 months, married at 6 months, married 38 years

He asked me after a few days...but bought me a ring after a year and we got married two years after meeting.

2.5 years but we have no kids together although both have older ones

Also both older than 40. Getting married next year

Started going out 21 February 1996, got engaged 6 May 1996, got married in 1998; still together.

Got engaged after 5 months and married after 18 months. Been together 20 years now.

Engaged after 2 weeks, married after 6 months together, still together 10 years later
