How long into your relationship did you get engaged?

Just that really! Interested to see when people decided to put a ring on it. I know no two relationships are the same but I am intrigued having a baby and coming up to our second year anniversary makes the question play in my mind more so as to when things like this follow?

Got engaged after 6 months long distance, 8 weeks in same place. Married three weeks after that. 40 years now, but hey. It might not last 😍

Got engaged after just over 2 years together and got married after 2 more years. Been married nearly 5 years now

Never got engaged , never had a ring. I've been married nearly 30 years.

Met end of 2009 & decided to get married early 2017. Had two ceremonies, one in 2017 for visa reasons & 2018 as our proper wedding. DS born end of last year.

I was only 20 when we met though.

I love MN for these kinds threads Grin the replies are generally so extreme it’s either 5 days or 15 years and very little between Grin

DH and I were 10 months.

My understanding is the younger you are the longer it’s acceptable to wait.
18-21: 5+ years totally normal
21-25: 3+ years totally normal
25-30: 3 years max
30-35: 1-2 years
35-40: 1+ year
40+ : Whenever, maybe tomorrow, maybe never.

9 months, married a year after that. Baby 9 months after that. We've been married 8 years this year.

Got engaged about 6 months after meeting (me 16,dh 18) got married 2 years after at 19 years old. Been together 21 years

First date in August, started living together in my flat mid September, engaged just before that Christmas, married the following September. Still married 25 years later.
