How long into your relationship did you get engaged?

Just that really! Interested to see when people decided to put a ring on it. I know no two relationships are the same but I am intrigued having a baby and coming up to our second year anniversary makes the question play in my mind more so as to when things like this follow?

Engaged 11 months into the relationship. Married 7 months later. Now almost 10 years in😀

2 weeks here. Didn't get married for 18 months though. Been married 16 years now.

My parents got engaged after a month and were married after 10 months of knowing each other. 45 years married now

18 months though i was overseas for 6 of those. First DC wasn't until 7 years later.

Met in the November, engaged in July and married the following June. So 9 months before engagement and another 11 before marriage. 45 years later we're still together!

9 months and married 6 months later.

I1 years till I said yes .
19 years after the engagement I still can't be arsed getting married 😀

6 weeks. Still married 20 years later but the temptation to bury him under the patio grows strong every now and again

Been in a relationship for 21 years so far, no engagement, no marriage. No way would I risk it, we’ve got kids and it wouldn’t be sensible for me.

And he was a rebound relationship too

He asked me to marry him within a few weeks but I just laughed as I assumed he was joking

Got together at university. Together 7 years before we got engaged/married. Been married 8 years now.

One year to the day of getting together we got engaged then married 8 months later.

Engaged after 18 months, married 7 months later

6 years but mostly because we wanted a family. No fecking way would I have had children without getting married.

Same here - 6yrs. DH got broody and I'd always been clear that I wasn't going to have kids without getting married.

@BettyBooth that is such a sweet story and I'm glad to hear you are still going strong. Hope you have many happy years ahead for you both!

@LimpLettice please dont get me wrong I think a baby is a much bigger commitment compared to marriage. It ties you for life, and theres no going back. In an ideal situation I would of been married and secure before having my dc but she came along any how and I wouldnt change her for the world lovely to hear about your marriage timeline honestly that is what I would of loved to have experienced

It honestly warms my heart to hear about all these quick engagements followed by long standing marriages! I've always been told going into things too quickly may not result in the best but clearly that is not the case

My first engagement was engaged after a month and married after 5. The marriage lasted 8 years

Engaged after 6 weeks, married 8 months later, still married 20 years on!

Engaged after 4 months.
Been together 21 years and married 18 this year.

Got engaged after 4 months, married after 2 years, been married 25 years xx

We've been together for 5 years and aren't engaged yet. We discuss getting married fairly often and know it will happen some point so getting officially engaged is more of a formality though. I don't really wear jewellery so we probably won't bother with a ring!

Engaged 10 days after meeting, married 5 months later, still married after 26 years.

DH1: met at 24, engaged & married at 26, DS was born a year later. we were together until he passed when I was 32.

DH2: met at 34, engaged at 38, married 39, split after five years.

been with my OH for two years now but I’ve been very clear marriage is not happening again!
