I had the AZ jab a couple of days ago - feel like I've got the worst hangover. Ever. Very tired. Sore arm.

Someone I know had tge Pfizer jab and had no side effects at all.

I had the AZ yesterday and I feel horrendous. Was burning up all night, I'm aching all over. I feel faint, weak and boiling hot. Im having the sweats shakes and a splitting headache. I have sore throat and my arm is hurting. Have been in bed all day. Really hoping I feel better tomorrow.

Also grateful for thread.
Am CV and have Carers duties so good to try to plan for backup if necess. Like many, I think whatever side effects may be, C-19 would be worse (though I spoke to an old friend over the weekend who was telling me horror stories about the Polio vacc in the 1950's & 60's which didn't help with confidence about this jab!)

LizB62A · 22/02/2021 18:21

I had Pfizer - nothing immediately then started feeling nauseous about an hour late. That lasted for a few hours.
No sore arm until some point overnight when I rolled onto my left side and the agony woke me up! It felt like someone had punched me hard a few times.
A bit tired, my IBS hasn't been great, but hard to know whether that's jab-related or not....

Pfizer jab - no side effects at all

StandardPoodle · 22/02/2021 18:42

DH had the Pfizer jab, no side effects at all.
I had the Astra Zeneca jab last week, 12 hours later I felt freezing cold, then burning up, aching all over, headache, queasy. This lasted about another 12 hours, then I was tired for a further 24 hours, after that fine.
I'm O positive blood group.

I’m O also Positive I think I’d love to know how it affects different blood groups
RedcurrantPuff · 22/02/2021 22:47

My parents had Pfizer with no side effects.

I’m getting my jab this week, don’t know which one although I guess AZ and expecting to feel a bit rubbish after.

Tartyflette · 22/02/2021 22:50

AZ over two weeks ago. Bit of a sore arm, and quite hot around the injection site. For about 24-48 hours. Nothing else.

ilovesooty · 22/02/2021 22:57

@Crankley

Dowser I do wish they would research why some people are very ill witness jabs and some not at all. I would start looking at blood types. Blood group 0 is the least likely to get the virus out of all the blood types, I wonder if it’s the same for jabs

That's interesting, my blood group is O and I had no reaction at all.

I'm O Neg and had no effects whatsoever from my AZ jab last Friday, not even a sore arm.
RedcurrantPuff · 22/02/2021 23:00

I’m B+. Time will tell!...

bumblenbean · 22/02/2021 23:06

I had AZ yesterday evening. Woke up at 6.30am (approx 12 hours later) shivering uncontrollably in sort of spasms but that went very quickly when I took paracetamol. Woke up a few hours later hot and sweaty, but felt fine when I got up. Went for a short walk, felt absolutely exhausted when I got back and had to go back to bed for a few hours.

This evening I’ve felt very fatigued and a bit achy but pretty much ok now. Hopefully will feel back to normal tomorrow.

Blood group A+

saraclara · 22/02/2021 23:17

AZ at midday. At 10pm I went from fine to feeling terrible within about five minutes. Deep chills and shivering, not relieved in any way by wearing thick pyjamas, thick winter duvet and doubled up blankets on top (and the heating still on). Slightly nauseous. Didn't get out of bed until midday next day, and went straight from there to the sofa, under blankets.

Felt a fair bit better by evening, and okay the day after that.

fiveoldteddies · 22/02/2021 23:38

O pos, fine with first Pfizer but high temp nausea and headache for 24 hours after sec dose

tobee · 22/02/2021 23:56

Ooh this is interesting. Not due mine for a bit. My df and dm had Pfizer and reported no side effects. My cev Dh had AZ and slept more than usual.

Hope people feeling bad still feel better soon!

Firstbellini · 23/02/2021 00:00

I had AZ on Sunday. I have never felt so ill. For the first two hours I couldn’t even pick up the phone to text someone else in the house and ask for help. I will be much better prepared next time and have bottles of water, paracetamol and extra duvets ready. I am holding packs of ice against my knees and hips and that is helping. I still can’t eat.

Davros · 23/02/2021 00:09

DH and I both had Ox-AZ a couple of weeks apart. No side effects at all in either of us, not even sore arm

tobee · 23/02/2021 00:26

I heard that you shouldn't take pain relief before or after. I'm not sure if it's true? Seems harsh if you're feeling bad but maybe it would mess up the immune response?

That’s interesting, I was planning to pop a couple of paracetamol before mine, kind of like giving a baby a calpol beforehand
Strongarmy · 23/02/2021 00:47

AZ on Friday- no side effects at all.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 23/02/2021 00:54

@Housewife2010

I had the Pfizer a week ago and had no side effects. I really hope this thread won't put people off the vaccine. If we want to return to normal we need to all have the vaccine.
That would be stupid. They'll like being ventilated a whole lot less!!!

I had AZ (6Feb). Few minor side effects. Arm didn't hurt at all though and I didn't get chills/feel fluey

3 friends same day 1 nothing at all
2 minor like me.

I was actually told at the vaccination to take some paracetamol when I got home.
StillMedusa · 23/02/2021 01:40

Az a week ago. Jab at 3pm. 10pm the fever, chills and muscle pain started. Lasted 36 hours then fine again. Worth it..,and while I hated feeling ill, the knowledge that my body was reacting and dealing... awesome!

They actually advise you to take paracetamol for any side effects when you go to have the vaccination. Taking pain relief will not affect the way the vaccine works.
Nanasueathome · 23/02/2021 06:25

Mild headache Sunday morning, took 1 panadol and it went
