I had the AZ jab a couple of days ago - feel like I've got the worst hangover. Ever. Very tired. Sore arm.

Someone I know had tge Pfizer jab and had no side effects at all.

I had AZ. About 12 hours after the injection I started to feel like I was coming down with something (achy, headache and sore throat). That all cleared up after 24 hours. I had a sore arm for a few days. I'm CEV and had radiotherapy the week before.

Crankley · 22/02/2021 11:36

I had my first jab a couple of weeks ago. After reading a thread on here I expected side effects but had none, not even a sore arm.

Dowser · 22/02/2021 11:59

I do wish they would research why some people are very ill witness jabs and some not at all.
I would start looking at blood types. Blood group 0 is the least likely to get the virus out of all the blood types, I wonder if it’s the same for jabs.

Please all report your symptoms via the yellow card website or app. I know they're listed already as side effects but it's important for researchers to understand frequency

There's a 25 page thread in the Coronavirus section discussing side effects following the AstraZeneca initial vaccination here:

If that is true, then minor aches and pains worth it!!

Babababababybelll · 22/02/2021 14:29

Pfizer one yesterday at 10am

Felt tired in the afternoon, slept 3 hours.

Overnight i felt awful , banging headache, sore arm and aching bones. Tingly down my left side.

This morning I have had a load of paracetamol, headaches and aches have gone , arm sore and general tiredness and feeling sick on and off (when i try to do a job mainly )

Im hoping a good night sleep will sort me out x

That's interesting, my blood group is O and I had no reaction at all.

Mine too.

Had the Pfizer vaccine on Saturday. Sore arm is all I’ve had.

Sylvia1491 · 22/02/2021 15:01

My blood group is O and I had no side effects at all (Pfizer)

rooarsome · 22/02/2021 15:04

AZ and I felt horrendous. Feverish overnight, aches all over and headaches. My parents had pfeizer and no side effects

FrangipaniBlue · 22/02/2021 15:34

I had AZ and just had an achey arm like I'd pulled a muscle from about 24hrs afterwards and it lasted maybe 24hrs? This was no different to when I had vaccines for travelling abroad a couple of years ago though.

I did feel a bit tired later the same day and then the following day I felt more tired than usual after my run, but I hand on heart couldn't say whether this was down to the vaccine or just the way I was feeling?

TheHollow · 22/02/2021 15:41

I had the AZ vaccine.
My blood group is AB and I did have side effects (sore arm, shivery, tiredness etc).

chasegirl · 22/02/2021 15:45

I had the AZ vaccine. Was OK til I went to bed then got woken by being freezing cold. No other side effects just really bloody cold and shivery. No temp or anything. Decided to wrap myself in my quilt to warm up as I was too cold to get out and take anything. 2 hours later my need to pee was greater than my need for warmth so had to get out of bed. Took paracetamol then, warmed up and fast asleep in no time. Was fine the next day.

Also blood type O but rehsus negative

fingerscrossedbojo · 22/02/2021 15:48

I had Pfizer and had a sore arm and headache for three days but that's it.

Gooseysgirl · 22/02/2021 15:53

I had Pfizer mid Jan, sore arm for about 4-5 days at the site of the injection. No other side affects at all. Top up jab coming up at the beginning of April - interested to see if side effects are the same/better/worse then.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 22/02/2021 15:59

I had Pfizer jab. My injection arm was painful almost straight away, then later that day I ached all over like I was coming down with flu. I woke up the next day and the aching was gone but I felt really sick and lightheaded. That cleared up almost exactly 24 hours after the jab.

LadyofMisrule · 22/02/2021 16:03

AZ 2 weeks ago. No side effects at all.

IndecentFeminist · 22/02/2021 16:08

I've had first jab Pfizer, nothing bar a very sore arm.

Mally2020 · 22/02/2021 16:44

I recently had the second pfizer one and got very ill for a few days, couldn't get out of bed, aches, fever, throwing up , very bad headaches

Embroideredstars · 22/02/2021 17:19

I had Pfizer back in January, felt.tired and achy with a very sore arm. Might have coincidental ( had a rich fatty dinner) but had one episode of extreme urgent diarrhoea about 12 hours after jab as well.

Embroideredstars · 22/02/2021 17:21

TheByngster · 22/02/2021 17:22

Hugely grateful for this thread. I had AZ at 3pm today. I’ve taken a couple of preemptive paracetamols and will post any side effects.

LemonMeringueThreePointOneFour · 22/02/2021 18:07

It’s strange how varied the side effects are.

Well the response to catching Covid ranges from asymptomatic to death, so it certainly fits with that.

Personally I was ill for nearly a week with an array of symptoms.
