Inspired by the ‘staples’ thread. We have wine and I can5 remember the last time we didn’t...

Hmmm maybe I need to rethink my choices,

Yip,wine, lager, ale, gin,rum and various other beverages, why?

Ginfordinner · 12/02/2021 22:26

Yes. We have a wine rack under the stairs. We don't drink every day, but it is something we always have in, like tinned tomatoes, flour etc

WisestIsShe · 12/02/2021 22:26

Yes. I was worried about brexit and not being able to get my favourite wine so we stocked up. Yes, I know I'm ridiculous.

Katie1784 · 12/02/2021 22:26

Didnt used to drink at home so a year ago we wouldn't probably have had any in.
Then Covid happened and we now buy it by the boxful!

Doilooklikeatourist · 12/02/2021 22:26

Buying some tomorrow, as I’m only having alcohol at the weekends in February , and I’m so stressed and feeling awful at the moment , if it was in the house I’d drink it !

Mamagotskills · 12/02/2021 22:27

Always, I buy it in cases. Probably about 30+ bottles

jambeforeclottedcream · 12/02/2021 22:28

We have more bottles of wine than Majestic in the house

Weekly big shops of buying 6 bottles and dry January for some members of my household mean there's a surplus

Bubbles1st · 12/02/2021 22:29

2 bottles of Prosecco- only because no one knew I was pregnant for my birthday...
Otherwise we would have drank it but don't normally have any in

skankingpiglet · 12/02/2021 22:29

Always here too, although not always a bottle that hasn't been marked for a special occasion. I try to have at least one bottle that isn't being saved and is free to be consumed as wanted, but by the end of the week it might not still be there. This is particularly true since the start of the year, and I suspect will cease to be a problem on or around 8th March (🙏🏻)

Sparklingbrook · 12/02/2021 22:29

No, not routinely and don't buy it as part of the weekly shop.

I go out and buy a bottle if I want one, but currently we have a few bottles of white left from Christmas, a bottle of Prosecco I got sent as a gift and I bought a bottle of Prosecco from Waitrose today as part of the Valentine's Meal Deal. So more wine than we generally have in the house.

micc · 12/02/2021 22:30

Not always, currently we have 2. We seem so always have a bottle of gin though..

Ragwort · 12/02/2021 22:32

Yes, always - can't remember the last evening when I didn't have a glass or three of wine Grin.

MrsMackesy · 12/02/2021 22:32

Yes. We have a dusty rack of it and then some more comes - and goes - on a weekly and monthly basis.

mogloveseggs · 12/02/2021 22:33

No
Dh drinks sprits or beer
I have the odd brandy

YewandOak · 12/02/2021 22:34

I've got an unopened bottle of wine that's been sat there since the summer before last. And nearly a full bottle of red that's been there a year. Think they might need pouring down the sink by now!

Frownette · 12/02/2021 22:36

No, I didn't go to the shop earlier. I am out of cordial too, so tea it is. It's pretty cold though so not a bad thing :)

JackieWeaversZoomAc · 12/02/2021 22:37

I have a bottle of processo somewhere I think.

Nearly empty bottle of gin I bought early December.

Random booze lve had for ages, possibly years - cinzano, tequila.

I used to drink a lot. These days, not do much.

Charlieandlola · 12/02/2021 22:38

A dozen white and a dozen red in wine rack in kitchen , 2 champagne in fridge .

Another 100 or so in wine regulator - that’s the good stuff !

DNHandTNS · 12/02/2021 22:39

Yes, but I need to chuck it because I forgot to finish it and it's past it's best. I went through a stage of thinking I'd drink wine for it's health benefits, but I don't really like it and am back to Gin.

EventuallyDeleted · 12/02/2021 22:40

Yes, but we often go weeks without drinking any of it. Usually a few left over from Christmas or received as gifts plus the odd one that we buy.

ShirazSavedMySanity · 12/02/2021 22:40

Always

Fedupofballs · 12/02/2021 22:41

About 24 on the wine rack, 3 in the fridge, 2 on the sideboard and a case of laithwaites in the garage..... I’m sure the fact I haven’t drunk them all is a good thing.

WhipperSnapperSteve · 12/02/2021 22:41

Red, white, rose, sparkling, champagne and pink champers Blush

thirstyformore · 12/02/2021 22:41

Always! Wine (red and white) champagne and Prosecco. And always beer, and a few spirits (gin, vodka, whiskey).

userxx · 12/02/2021 22:43

Yep, there's always a few bottles of wine in the house.
