Keep seeing a boy

Hi all

Have been reluctant to post here because I am not sure if I am away with the fairies or if this is real.

Every night, some times every other night I see a boy in my room. Just over my side table. He stares at me, I stare at him. I feel peaceful. He then just disappears? Like just whirls gently and goes. I hope this makes sense.

I do not know him. I do not recognise him. He does not scare me.
Do you think I am dreaming or could this be real?
He came last night. I woke up, checked my phone 3.07am, lay down, closed my eyes, opened them and there he was. He looked a while, smiled and went.

So confused. Any experience in this?

corythatwas · 22/01/2021 22:51

Actually I do know what triggered it- I was in a long distance relationship so post was very important to me,

I once had a hypnopompic hallucination of Tony Blair floating over my bed with a huge Cheshire cat grin.

It was terrifying.

@Ltdannygreen

Thank you for your input.
I have never been a believer of anything supernatural. Ever.

As i said before I have had moments of 'wtf' but nothing like this.

I hope I am dreaming. You have scared me slightly lol. I am glad it is a boy I see and not an adult woman.

@justchecking1

Google "hypnopompic hallucinations".

Not unusual

^ This. It happens to most people at least once in their life so don't worry about it.

As you will notice almost all of these kind of stories are when people wake up or are in bed. You basically wake and dreaming at the same time. Thats why it feels so real.

I've had it. Woke up once with an old man standing next to my bed looking at me. I sat up and he was gone.

Do you have poor eyesight or suffer any kind of macular degeneration? There's something called Charles Bonnet Syndrome, my nan had it. She saw lots of people walking around! In particular a little girl who would sit next to her. It was her brain manufacturing sight

Nickysofttouch · 22/01/2021 22:56

So if I see him tonight. What do I do? What if I can move or talk to him? Do I?

I have never tried.

Nickysofttouch · 22/01/2021 22:57

I have never had my eyes tested.

My friend has horrible sleep paralysis of being strangled by an old hag. She had no idea what was happening, mentioned to me one day that she was waking up unable to move and seeing things, and was astonished when I asked her if it was an old woman coming from the left corner of the room.

I experienced sleep paralysis months later and saw cartoon squirrels smiling at me on my heart. She was not impressed.

Nickysofttouch · 22/01/2021 22:58

My partner is 'holy fucking' the house between his dreams and my encounters. If there was a hotel open he would be away.

Oh and when I was a kid I saw an alien at the end of my bed...big massive 7 foot alien. I reached out my foot to kick it, being an 8 year old absolute lunatic, and it disappeared.

Nickysofttouch · 22/01/2021 23:00

But i think i can move.
I always sleep with a pillow between my knees. Have done since expecting ds2. I have adjusted it numerous times while seeing him.

He's trying to write 'redrum' on your wall, but when you wake up and disturb him he has to lull you into a false sense of security. Does your dp have hallucinations about crowded ballrooms and conversing with imaginary bar staff?

Nickysofttouch · 22/01/2021 23:00

Have never moved to him though. Just lay in awe almost.

That sounds nice. I’m not “woo” but not do I believe we know everything. Energy, death, belief etc. There are many things not explained by science (which is what I put a lot of faith in). I think it’s nice (regardless of explanation) that you feel peaceful when this event occurs. I would imagine that this implies that the energy you are putting out is also peaceful and we could all use a bit of that Smile

Flittingaboutagain · 22/01/2021 23:01

When I'm anxious then I experience very powerful hypnogogic hallucinations in the sleep-wake limbo land. Sometimes they are sounds other times visual. I think it is your unconscious trying to process something.

Nickysofttouch · 22/01/2021 23:02

@TrainspottingWelsh

Lol lol lol

Poor guy has been told he is a fucking numpty this whole time and now look at me.

ShizeItsWeegie · 22/01/2021 23:02

Could you have lost a pregnancy around about the time this child would have been born?

I see this sort of thing from time to time. If you feel peace when you see him, take that and don't let it worry you.

PregnantGotCovid · 22/01/2021 23:04

Hypnopompic hallucinations.

Icequeen01 · 22/01/2021 23:07

Can't you set your phone up to film. You might get something!

Staffy1 · 22/01/2021 23:08

Next time, sit up immediately and see if he is still there.

Henio · 22/01/2021 23:09

I visited a extremely old 'haunted' house a while back on a ghost tour and they mentioned how sometimes the little ghost boy from the house followed people home and stayed with them for a while because he liked them... I don't believe in ghosts myself but I quite liked the idea of it all

ChristmasSexyTime · 22/01/2021 23:11

Do some digging into your house history, that might unearth some clues. 🤔

Trickyboy · 22/01/2021 23:16

Are you very very stressed OP ? My lovely lovely COMPLETELY sensible cousin started seeing Ninja Nuns (whatever the fuck they are ) over the last couple of months.

They were 'spying on her'... asked her husband to put up cctv .. (nothing there ) but that was because 'they are clever'... any way long and distressing story short ... she ran away from home. Police called. Found in a car park hiding behind a car....

5 days in a psychiatric ward for psychosis . Fabulous GP, medication and talking therapy.. well in the road to recovery . She is a project manager for an IT company. But her mum is in a care home and she can't see her. Sent her over the edge. No history of previous mental illness.

It can happen to anyone.
