I read this on Tues, ordered a VitD spray there and then which arrived the next day and have been full of bounce ever since. I've actually got some energy when I wake up and feel as though I'm being much more productive at work.
I've now ordered Spatone too and have just taken my first one. It tastes vile but, if it has the same effect as the VitD, it will be worth it!

Ieat, my friend eyeballed me and said sage for the sweats and red clover to stop you killing people. Worked for me.

ittakes2 · 11/02/2021 16:15

Thanks you have reminded me I need to take more Vit D!

What is the best method to try if your stomach / intestine no longer absorb well?
I am very low in iron. My GP gave me Ferrous Fumerate x 3 but I'm still really low :(
I've tried the vitamin sprays but a) they are expensive and b) low in %rda

I've just started the Alive gummies after reading this and ordered some for my mum and the dc too.

A pharmacist in Boots told me recently there is no point taking gummies, the dosages are minute. I was enquiring about them for my children and she said unless they are toddlers not to waste my money. She advised instead to take WellKid chewy capsules.

Since reading this thread I've got some 5htp & Korean ginseng. Definitely feeling better rested & a bit more energy/clearer. Taken the ginseng every day. Missed the 5htp a couple of times - the difference in my sleep is noticeable. I take it in the early evening but I'm not sure if that's the best time.

Spatone is iron in a really easy to absorb liquid form. I buy the one with apple otherwise you are supposed to take it with fruit juice. Unlike iron tablets, it doesn't make you constipated.

@DfEisashambles

Bioglan Biotic Balance Daily Flora get the 10 Billion one with the 6 strains. It was a bumpy road but very quickly my stomach flattened and my skin was clear and I have IBS. This really helps me with that. I notice if I run out or forget to take it for a few days.

How much magnesium does everyone take? I think I’ve heard that, like vit d, the uk recommended dose is not actually enough to do much?

Iv seen an advert for Thriva. Has anyone used this to check what they are lacking in?
Looks like you can choose specific things to be checked from your sample.

I have pernicious anaemia and couldn't manage on the 'normal' 12 weekly jabs. I briefly got my gp to give me monthly jabs which helped but in the end I started self-injecting and it's improved my health enormously.

Does 5HTP help with anxiety?

For people asking about magnesium, it's much better absorbed through a skin spray and no digestive side effects.

gardeninggirl14 · 10/03/2021 18:05

@runningpink - Thriva is really good, I like it. I use it to monitor my iron levels - my GP only wants to give me tablets when I get really low and can barely get up the stairs, so I feel like it gives me a bit more control and am better informed when talking to her. I also check other things at the same time like B and D vitamin levels.
