I don't take it now but I've found St John’s Wort very effective when I've been feeling low.
I have been taking Berroca since having a bit of a lingering flu thing (not Covid) but I find that it works at its best alongside healthy eating and exercise!
I've often wondered about magnesium but have never taken it as a supplement.

I must get some more. Within a week I feel like a new woman, when I finish them I don’t buy more because they are expensive, but then I feel awful again and spend weeks trying to justify if I should buy them again. I will order some now.

I second these! They are amazing!!

Have recently started taking 5-HTP and I sleep much better. I forgot to take it for two nights last week and felt the difference

Cotswoldmama · 31/01/2021 18:41

I've been feeling rubbish since Xmas. I've had a Covid anti body test to see if was Covid and long Covid but haven't had the results back yet. I had blood tests and everything was normal but I have found taking vitamin d and using a vitamin b12 spray has really helped me to feel more myself and helped the brain fog to ease, I suppose it could just be me feeling better generally. But I do feel worse if I miss a day.

I take Turmeric and black pepper because I read somewhere that it helps yor hair. Four months in and my widows peak has filled in and the condition of my hair has improved hugely. Same shampoo and conditioner...

ExpatAl · 31/01/2021 19:02

Kombucha. I take vits D & B and fish oil anyway but after adding daily kombucha the surge in energy and feeling of health is incredible. My complexion is pinker and fresher too.

Magnesium taurate- real game changer for me- years of insomnia- gone! Has also really quietened down my palpitations/ ectopic heart beats ( that the GP said Were benign and I just had to put up with them.)

Also take apple cider vinegar tablets ( just cannot bear the liquid) really helps with acid reflux.

Final thing I take is turmeric which seems to help with my joints which are quite creaky!

EmmanuelleMakro · 31/01/2021 19:06

Ooooh! Have just ordered magnesium glycinate - friend recommended earlier today.

glowingtwig · 31/01/2021 19:20

Following with interest! Feel so sluggish and weird at the moment Sad

JMAngel1 · 31/01/2021 19:29

Panax ginseng - turns me into Tigger [grin
I love Berocca too but it makes my hair fall out.

Cocaine!

VerbenaGirl · 31/01/2021 19:37

Kombucha really helps me feel better, and turmeric does seem to make a difference to my creaky knees.

DipSwimSwoosh · 31/01/2021 19:41

Zinc

Janaih · 31/01/2021 19:42

5htp for me too, I sleep so much better taking it and have managed to lose weight easily as a result.
I still wake once or twice for a wee but I'm back to deep sleep within minutes.

vulturedudess · 31/01/2021 19:59

Magnesium and vitamin d

Pancakeorcrepe · 31/01/2021 20:51

To get me through Winter, I take:
5HTP
St Johns Worth
Vitamin D and K3 for absorption
Zinc, Magnesium and Vitamin B
Hair vitamins (do a course twice a year)

It’s a lot but it does help me

Scbchl · 31/01/2021 20:54

Vitamin d, b12, CQ10 and iron and vitamin c and iron

Frownette · 31/01/2021 21:01

I've heard good things about D3 being a mood improver.

Personally spirulina/chlorella make a big difference.

Greenvalleysightseeker · 31/01/2021 21:03

In the past Ive taken Feroglobin gentle iron tonic, which has B vitamins and other stuff in and literally bounced out of bed in the morning full of energy. It has stopped having such a strong effect on me now unfortunately, maybe because I'm slightly older and closer to the menopause.
My Mum has always suffered with insomnia, and this winter for the first time she's been taking a high dose of vitamin D (for Covid reasons, as many of us have) and she's slept like a log every evening. She can not believe the difference, she must have been deficient her whole adult life.

Monkeytennis97 · 31/01/2021 21:06
