On a day off and bored. If I were to make a dream shoppong list, what things would you recommend? What have you bought that makes your life better? What have you thought would make your life better but didn't? I'll start...

I can recommend my kitchen tap with the extendable end, hair oil and phd half size protein bars.

I wouldn't recommend olaplex and babyliss big hair (although I have a head full of mental curls so might be more to do with my hair type!)

Thanks Caramelchaos I might try the hair oil. I have curly hair but it’s a bit thin and I’m worried it will look greasy.

Spotify subscription
My Kindle fire
My lovely forest green teddy fleece bedding set
Filter coffee machine
The Stretching App- I really notice a difference if I do just 5 minutes of stretching every morning.
My new Grubs boots- they keep my feet warm and dry and fab for walking in the snow. I live rurally so we get a lot!

Really enjoying this thread - got a few items I want to look at now. 😅

Mine are:

  • Beauty Pie skincare (absolutely obsessed, total game changer for me)
  • Slow cooker, cordless mini vacuum and tumble drier - can't beat fluffy, hot towels! (also agree with PP about frozen vegetables - just as nutritious and none of the faff, often cheaper!)
  • Candles (big fan of Diptyque, Skandinavisk and BeautyPie)
  • Library card (unlimited free books, eBooks and magazines!)
  • Lamps and soft furnishings (home is cosy, relaxing space) and snuggly slippers/socks
  • New mattress and duvets/pillows (got a Simba set - quality of sleep is so much better!)
  • Online food shops (never going back - I've made two lists, one for all our regular groceries/household items and one for things we buy every few months - it takes five minutes to add them and done!)
  • Usually gym membership with pool 🏊🏻‍♀️😞 (swimming is my main exercise - just focusing on happier, fitter times ahead once C defeated!)
Smiledwiththerisingsun · 14/01/2021 17:56

I want to know about the mattress toppers too please @WishingHopingThinkingPraying

longtompot · 14/01/2021 23:20

@funnyoldonion I have just added the oodie to my yds Christmas list for this year. It's right up her street. Glad to hear it's as good as I hoped it might be. She'll esp love the snack pocket.

Vigorothello · 14/01/2021 23:32

Stressless chair and footstool. Not too hard, not too soft, lots of just the right support, classic design.

Andante57 · 14/01/2021 23:45

@YouKnowItsTrue

I see lots of people have mentioned a hot tap.

We looked into getting one fitted recently but as we have a ceramic sink apparently they are not suitable. I was advised we’d need either a composite or a stainless steel sink.

Bloody annoying as I rather fancied getting rid of the kettle!

We have a Belfast sink and we’ve had no problem with a boiling water tap on it.
Fluffyowl00 · 15/01/2021 00:20

Dorma brushed cotton bedding.
Matching bath mat and at least two hand towels.
Oxo good grip kitchen gadgets (best tin opener ever!)
Method kitchen cleaner ...sometimes I spray it just because it smells so nice.
Scarpa walking boots -like slippers.
Irish setter....less of a house burglar alarm, more like having your own personal jester.

I think I need a robot vacuum!

caramelchaos · 15/01/2021 00:24

Rhubarb and rose from molton brown sounds lush!

Ooh I love this thread. Will be going back and talking notes.

A table top dishwasher. Like having a maid.
Quite nice ready meals from Cook/MnS etc, like having a cook
A veg box from Oddbox - like a present every week
A microwave with a conventional oven option. V quick,
Microwave steam bags. Rarely will you pick up a saucepan again.
A dustpan and brush with long handles so you don’t have to bend down
Hooks on back of bedroom door to avoid floordrobe
Other tiny kitchen tips - double decker fruit bowls, mugs on hooks underneath shelves, glasses suspension things under shelves, mounted saucepan lid tidy, magnetic and hanger bars for all utensils
Whiteboards and magnetic pen pots on fridge

Nice mugs and crockery
Nice cutlery
Lamps
Socks in just a couple designs so you don’t have to pair them
Narrow wire shelves in bathroom so you can get to everything

I like the Babyliss big hair to straighten my fine curls

Laufeythejust · 15/01/2021 00:47

An hour massage with a physio- I’ve had niggling shoulder pain for about 10 years and it’s completely gone- feel daft for not going sooner.
A toastie maker for quick meals
Cozeehome thick blanket for the sofa- all our family now has one!
AirPods, fab for running and also good for multitasking, using them as a hands free
A personal trainer, expensive but I’ve never been healthier than I am now

QueenPawPaws · 15/01/2021 00:51

These eye masks. If my eyes are sore or I have a headache or can't sleep. They warm up

Calm app for sleep stories. Still can't sleep but at least it gives me something to listen to Grin

Tesco strawberry children's toothpaste. Mint burns my mouth and this had adult fluoride levels and makes me happy

These candles. The scent is... walking down a country lane, sun is scorching and the grass is all dry and crunchy. I have their diffusers too which are also excellent
