Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

Can anyone recommend a cheap puzzle board please (flat, not a roll up one)? I have a Portapuzzle deluxe which is fantastic however we’re about to have three extra Christmas puzzles in the house and I’ll need to be able to move them around but don’t want to pay much as they’ll be for occasional use.

I was looking at the folding Ravensburger board but at £12-15 each even that is too much to spend when I need three of them!

For occasional use would foam board work? Hobbycraft have 4 sheets of A1 (which I think is big enough) for £12, if you want it really secure you’d need a piece each side and clipped together with something like bulldog clips on each end, but if it’s just for moving around it might be ok to have a puzzle resting on top.

Thanks, I’ll have a look at those. Ideally I want to order from Amazon.

I need large enough for 1000 piece jigsaws, so probably the same size as my Portapuzzle. I’m not sure what size that is off hand ETA - I’ve looked and I think it’s A1.

The ravensburger board just uses clips on each side to keep it together and the pieces secure - I think that’s just cardboard!

Got a load of jigsaws at a Christmas fair at the weekend, I've done these two since Saturday.

It's ages since I had the chance to do a puzzle. This was a lovely quick one to do today on a bonus snow day from work.

Did this one with friends in an hour, it's a Wentworth and was a Christmas present from DD.

I love Wentworth puzzles, they’re so expensive though 😫

InMySpareTime · 07/01/2025 12:03

I have loads my Nan bought me over the years, and this latest one from DD, they are lovely jigsaws but I've never actually bought one new!

Hazelmazel · 10/01/2025 19:30

I have lots of Wentworths, generally bought either in the sale or second hand on eBay. I sell most of them on when I've done them so in the overall scheme of things they don't cost too much as they hold their value really well.

I was just thinking I fancy some different jigsaws, does anyone have a more unknown brand they'd recommend?

MadisonAvenue · 14/01/2025 01:33

One I didn’t get time to do at Christmas, and my husband’s boss has sent me another Christmas one today 🤦‍♀️😂

Ah, I love a Storring! Here's my Christmas one:

Oh, and this one was a Christmas present from my son. It was quite the eye strainer as the picture on the box didn’t have the same level of detail as the pieces.

Oh no, I couldn’t do that one. It looks so tricky, all the same shades and lines ha.
I’d love to do more 2000 piece ones but I have nowhere to do them either. They really need to do larger puzzle mats.

MadisonAvenue · 19/03/2025 17:07

I’ve just finished this, it was £1.99 from Home Bargains. I’m feeling the need to get a few done now as we’re getting a puppy in a few weeks so I won’t get much chance once he’s here 😂

My mum got me a box of three Wasgijes (or should they be Swasgij) and I finished them in a few days:

This jigsaw was an absolute beast. The picture is a collection of photos of big cats arranged to make a shaded impression of a lion. Took 4 days solid!

Wow that looks difficult, don’t think I’d have the patience or the eyesight.
