Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

Hi all.

Lovely thread. Hope you don't mind me joining the thread. Finally got around to doing a jigsaw that I got as a gift and really enjoyed it.

I think because of all the different fonts / typographical bits. So can anyone recommend anything similar?

Thanks in advance. Grin

@MerlinsButler how about this one?

Ooh thank you, that could work with all the place names in different types. Where is that one from ?

InMySpareTime · 20/10/2024 06:34

It's from the works but they seem to be all Christmas theme jigsaws right now so no link, sorry.

InMySpareTime · 20/10/2024 06:37

@MerlinsButler There’s a Broadway musicals ond from Amazon which gives a ridiculously long link which I won’t post but maybe this fits the bill?

MadisonAvenue · 20/10/2024 15:09

@MerlinsButler this is the one

I got this one in a charity shop yesterday and have started it. I love a charity shop bargain jigsaw.

I’m partway through Fruity Blush. The watermelon was harder than I thought it was going to be! Fortunately pinks are the colour I’m best at sorting. If it were a blue puzzle I’d be scuppered

World of Shakespeare. A charity shop find. Very interesting to do as it was full of Shakespearean characters and scenes, with an explanatory poster.

@Greenteaandchives , that’s a great find .

mazylou · 24/10/2024 07:28

I've done lots in those "world of" jigsaw series: I especially like that illustrator.

That looks impossible as it’s all the same colour.
As an aside do you not do the out straight outer edges first? I don’t know why but I thought everybody did 😁

There’s a lot a pinks, but different shapes and textures help. Except the watermelon!! I love gradient puzzles, but I’m not solid colour or impossipuzzle kind of puzzler. I struggle more with really busy puzzles.

I often start with the for traditional picture puzzles (I did for the World of the Tudors one similar to @Greenteaandchives ) but for gradient puzzles or puzzles where some things really stand out I tend to sort entirely by colour and work across. And I have a few Disney puzzles where the border is 1/2 rows of solid blue twinkly stars so I do that last because it doesn’t help with the puzzle and it’s easier when I have something to plug it into.

whiterainbow · 05/11/2024 14:03

Can anyone recommend a cheap puzzle board please (flat, not a roll up one)? I have a Portapuzzle deluxe which is fantastic however we’re about to have three extra Christmas puzzles in the house and I’ll need to be able to move them around but don’t want to pay much as they’ll be for occasional use.

I was looking at the folding Ravensburger board but at £12-15 each even that is too much to spend when I need three of them!

Hazelmazel · 05/11/2024 14:15

I use a felt or cork noticeboard rather than a specific puzzle board. Even with that though, they'd be £12-15 for those.
how big do you need? Could you use (eg) an archive box lid or something like that?
