Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

Yes, please! I haven't done a jigsaw since the summer because I've been too busy to enjoy losing hours at a time.
I always start a jigsaw on Boxing Day. I've got 1 of my MiL's puzzles put aside that I haven't done in case I don't get a puzzle for Christmas.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone is doing.

I’m doing this one at the moment.Smile

There is a 1500 pieces jigsaw looming - it's lions in the savanah so basically beige all over. It's either do it or count the pieces before giving it away and get sth more fun.

I’m doing a wasjig one. I hit a bit of a brick wall yesterday, but could “see” it more clearly this morning.

Welcome all!

Late I hope Father Christmas brings you a nice puzzle. I've gifted one this year to my mum and am hoping I may get one too. Not that I need anymore. I have a fair pile but you can never have enough!

B0ttle I love the look of your puzzle. Just my thing! And Ravensburger too. Fab quality.

Prok good luck with the lions. I possibly don't have the patience for that sort!

Queen I've never done a wasjig. I know some people are real fans. I might try one sometime soon.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 23/12/2020 12:57

I bought myself a jigsaw advent calendar! Here they are laid out on the piano.

The things I do not know ... that, too, would have been a lovely gift.

TheSunIsStillShining · 23/12/2020 13:11

Anyone up for swapping? I have 3 puzzles that I've done already. 1 wasgij, one ravensburger library theme and a crazy shapes one. 1000pcs each.
I'm running out of storage place :)

Help!!!

DH and I have just tried to completely a 1000 piece puzzle.

We are missing the last piece.

Any ideas of what we can do? We wanted to frame it Sad

TheSunIsStillShining · 23/12/2020 13:35

@OhToBeASeahorse
Look under the jigsaw! I was looking for 1 piece that slid under the finished picture itself. Took me 10 minutes to find.

Magissa · 23/12/2020 13:35

Slightly off topic...Have you watched a film called Puzzle on Netflix. About Jigsaw puzzling 🙂. I haven't done one since last Christmas but I now have the bug again.

toomuchlikemyusername · 23/12/2020 14:49

Thesun I'd be up for a swop so long as postage isn't too prohibitive. The library one sounds like my type of puzzle. What sort do you like?

Magissa the film sounds interesting. Will look it up!

Ohtobe if it's a recent puzzle I think some manufacturers may provide missing pieces if you contact them. I usually find my missing pieces under the living room rug Grin

Strictly what a fab advent calendar. Love it!

I like doing the Ravensburger puzzles and Colin Thompson's paintings but have recently finished this one. They say it's impossible. Not quite but it was very hard to finish:

If my friend buys me a puzzle, for Christmas or birthday, she always chooses 1950s village scenes which I hate. She visited me often (pre Covid) so saw the sort of puzzle I do but still I get 1950s villages - just received two for Christmas :(

and this Crazy shapes

I have to be honest: I don't like this. Got it as a present, but am struggling to finish it.

TodgerStrunk · 23/12/2020 16:03

I was doing 3 a week in lockdown but did a few in a row that I hated - A Mike Jupp and a Gibsons where the pieces were so cheap that they all fitted in the wrong place, and one off ebay with a piece missing. I now have 3 Colin Thompsons waiting to do but no enthusiasm to do so.

DianaT1969 · 23/12/2020 16:46

I saw a New Yorker cover jigsaw in a store (image of books on bookshelves). 1,000 pieces by the New York Jigsaw Company. There a vintage skiing scene too. I haven't done any since I was child. Can anyone tell me if they have done this series and if they are a good place to start? Thanks!

PARunnerGirl · 23/12/2020 16:52

Here’s ours, with the tree in the background for added Christmas cheer 🎄 🦌 😆 It is a challenge with all those green ferny bits! Doing not bad though.

I’ve got this to try next www.theyorkshirejigsawstore.co.uk/claude-monet---the-japanese-footbridge---1000-pieces-130261-p.asp

But mustn’t start before Boxing Day or we won’t get any Christmas lunch 😃
