Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

Wow that looks hard! I just finished Cloudberries- Rooster. It was a Vinted find, and I really enjoyed it. It was a perfect puzzle image.

I've just finished this one. The dark green parts did my head in after while so I had to have a break of a couple of weeks!

I started one quite like that with a lot of green Northern Lights and realised that life’s too short and gave up.

Good morning, I hope you don't mind me joining the thread. I've recently got back into jigsaw puzzles and have completed 3 1000piece puzzles so far this summer (I'm a teacher).
The parrots was by far my favourite, beauty and the beast was a lot harder than expected. Just started my first happily puzzle - in the 90s.
Love seeing everyone else's puzzles on here

Oh sorry the photos didn't load! And I still can't seem to get them to load on the app

Welcome to the thread.
These are my summer jigsaws, the tree was tricky but the gallery was easy.

Wow, those look great! Just finished a couple myself: one hard, one fairly easy.

Yesterday’s puzzle

I’ve completed this one over the weekend, I was a bit nervous about it as I bought it used from EBay and worried a piece would be missing, couldn’t find a 1000 piece one to buy new and it’s one that I want the frame for in the home office.

Yesterday's Agatha Christie jigsaw was easy, last week's "Starry Night" one not so much!

I’ve looked at buying a Starry Night puzzle a few times and changed my mind, especially after doing the Wheatfield with Cypresses one a few years ago. Lots of yellow wheat and lots of swirly sky.

Toomanysquishmallows · 17/09/2024 19:35

Hi I’ve just finished this one , annoyingly it had a piece missing .

I’ve got this one ready for jigsaw season. It’s still too hot and summery to feel like doing it yet.

Last year I gave up on my Christmas jigsaw when I hadn’t completed it by Christmas Eve, so this thread popping up is a reminder to get it out and complete it so I can start a new one this year. I only do jigsaws in the Christmas season, and only for a short time each evening.

Is anyone else watching the World Jigsaw Puzzle Championships? I was watching Kristen in amazement as a plodded through the end of this 500 piece puzzle. I only had the sky left to do and she solved a whole 500 piece puzzle less time than me (admittedly she was probably a bit more focussed!!)

Ooh where do you watch that? Do they all do the same jigsaw? Is it fastest one wins? So many questions…

This is the live feed at the moment - it’s the second individual qualifying round at the moment. There are three competitions: individual, pairs, and team. Individuals solve 500 piece puzzles, pairs do 500 piece puzzle in prelims and a 1000 in finals, and teams do two 1000 piece puzzles. And fastest one wins! It looks a fun and friendly competition, and always inspires me to puzzle more as I watch it

It's unbelievable how fast they are.
I probably won't watch the live feed but will watch Karen Puzzles' videos.

And today I bought 30 jigsaws from someone who was advertising them on a facebook jigsaw group. For €80. So very pleased with that haul.

MadisonAvenue · 18/09/2024 19:02

I didn’t even know that was a thing, thanks for the link - it’s fascinating to watch.

It’s reminded me that years ago when me and my sister used to do puzzles we’d lay all of the pieces out on the table. Now I just endlessly sift through the box looking for colour to catch my eye. I’ll have to find the space to try it the old way I think.

Nice bargain @fleabites

MadisonAvenue · 13/10/2024 11:22

Started this one last night and finished it this morning.

Hi all, have just seen this thread and have a question. I buy jigsaws regularly from charity shops and sometimes, the edge pieces have been put separately in their own little plastic bag by the previous jigsawer. I’m not sure actually how I feel about it, certainly makes it easier, but i do feel that the initial sorting is an important part of the process. Has anyone else had this, and if so do you appreciate it?

I hate when people do this. So annoying and unnecessary.

I can’t say it’d bother me, if I didn’t want to take advantage of the edges being separate then I’d just mix them in with the rest of the pieces.

Here’s another I’ve done this week
