Anyone fancy a new jigsaw thread?

Hello all.

I really enjoyed the last jigsaw thread which was going on during the summer and wondered if anyone fancied sharing any pictures of jigsaws that are currently being done?
I'm nearly finished with my Disney Christmas one. A nice easy one which has only taken me a couple of days.
The weather is grim today so I expect it will be finished very soon! I will post a full picture once it is complete.
Would love to see your jigsaws....

We did lots in the first lockdown, even outside on the garden table.
On our daily permitted bike rides we discovered a lady had set up a table on her driveway and started a jigsaw swap. It sustained us through til August! We cycled to borrow a couple, did them, cycled back with them and swapped them. She was given loads as donations and it became a very popular venue. It was also an 8 mile circular ride so that was a bonus.
Got some nice ones from a charity shop ready for second wave including some really good quality ones by Ravensburger.
I’ve got loads of where’s Wally ones in the attic from when I had three boys at home, but didn’t really enjoy them first time round so no plans to have another go!
We really enjoy doing puzzles of places we have been. Just done a Whitby one and my husband can remember where and what we ate there!

I've just finished a Christmas scene one but it had a piece missing. Admittedly, I did buy it second hand but now I don't know what to do with it.

Usually, I would take it to a charity shop but I don't feel as though I can now, has anyone got any suggestions please as it also feels wrong to put it in the bin!

@indignatio
Love this one!

OhToBeASeahorse · 23/12/2020 22:45

@YouReallyAre I'm in the same boat. It's very annoying and I'm pretty sure I haven't lost any pieces.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 23/12/2020 22:58

@indignatio That is great, I love Escher!

toomuchlikemyusername · 23/12/2020 23:52

Blimey indignatio that must have taking some doing! That's incredible. Well done.

You Really Are. If I have puzzles with missing pieces I pass them on as a freebie to anyone I know who likes puzzles but with the caveat that it's not complete, or do similar but via a local giveaway site. As you say, a shame to throw away and can still be appreciated by others.
I know someone who would carefully reproduce the missing piece, cutting it out of card or board and colouring it to match the image.

Secret Santa did not get me my puzzle board, I had other lovely things instead, so I treated myself and the niceamazonman delivered it today!

My mona lisa puzzle is not here till mid week though, so I have spent a lovely afternoon shifting the puzzle from the mat to the board and sorting out the pieces and getting loads of pieces in place in spite of saying I was only going to do sorting!

The one I am doing is from Aldi or Lidl....all snapshots of New York overlaid like a pile of postcards, lots of sunsets, dark nights, car lights and about five Statues of Liberty! And the snaps are all at different angles.

ApolloandDaphne · 27/12/2020 18:16

My DD gave me one for my Christmas which I started today. Let me see if I can find a picture of it.

ApolloandDaphne · 27/12/2020 18:18

It is this Herstory one. It is beautiful. Lots of gold running through it and lots of inspiring women

I'm doing a 100 piece Sherlock Holmes jigsaw. Not done one (ever! Except toddler aged ones)

What tips do you have? I've done the outside edge but a bit stuck on what to do next.

It's this one so quite hard!

1000 not 100!

TheDuchessOfAquitaine · 27/12/2020 18:38

@Marmite27 I did that Lion King one in the summer....it was the first jigsaw I had done since I was about 8....and I was hooked Grin
Attempting this Christmas one at the moment but finding it much harder without much natural daylight this time of year...everything just looks brown!

These are some I've completed recently. I just finished the cushion one this afternoon and it has a missing piece 🙁.
I only started doing puzzles this year but I'm fast becoming addicted!

My eyesight isn’t great so I can’t do jigsaws with small pieces. I’ve been looking at ones with larger pieces, there isn’t so much choice of pictures though.

NainAGP · 27/12/2020 19:28

NannyR what's the city one? It looks great.

Passmeabottlemrjones · 27/12/2020 19:36

So the Wasgij ones... Are they similar to what is on the box but some differences, or just completely different?

NannyR · 27/12/2020 19:45

NainAGP it's a Cloudberries one, someone recommended them on a thread a couple of weeks ago, they have some really great designs.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 27/12/2020 19:47

I did this one in a couple of hours on boxing day, and got another four for Christmas!

Some fabulous puzzles here. Is the Christmas Santa a Thomas Kinkade?

I think House of Puzzles or HoP do larger sized puzzle pieces.

Springfern · 27/12/2020 20:01

I love this thread! I usually do eeboo puzzles, but I have just started one of the London underground Confused Luckily I lived in London for a long time otherwise I think it would be impossible
