Hi all

I couldn’t find the new thread so here is one I set up. It’s windy out there! Glad I weeded my flowerbeds a couple of days ago.

I am very confused by this year. It's the first time in my life I have ever been denied access to a public library. Why aren't libraries considered an essential service?

Sonicthehedgehogg · 04/11/2020 06:26

@user1471448866 I'd be exactly the same. So firmly on the fence, I'd have splinters on my bum.
On the one hand I'll do a fair amount to try to move things on, or at least do something different than locking down over and over again, in the hope of finding something more effective.
But if I was sat in an L postcode, I wouldn't trust him either.
Thanks

DrDiva · 04/11/2020 07:02

@Sonicthehedgehogg sorry you’ve got It, hope you feel ok.

@littlbrowndog in my bleary early morning state I read nurseries as nunneries and spent a few moments trying to figure that one out!! After all anything seems possible this year...

There's a convent down the road. Quite common to see nuns taking their daily constitutional around here.

Indeed a nun married DH... to me!
She didn't make a habit of it, we were between vicars at the local church. Grin

Oh that's a good way to start the day! Grin

Morning all.

Iheartmysmart · 04/11/2020 08:00

@BogRollBOGOF Now my eyes are broken. I thought it said you were a nun before you married DH!

Hope this hasn't already been posted. Some unhysterical common sense and plain facts from this BBC reporter.

AcornAutumn · 04/11/2020 09:09

Bless me, ADs, for I feel like I’m sinning

There’s a new lady moved into the flat across the street. She does ballet practice every morning. I don’t stand and stare, but when I open my curtains, I’m struck by how lovely it is 😳

Pleasedontdothat · 04/11/2020 09:11

@BogRollBOGOF good pun 😂

@Reedwarbler Nick Triggle has consistently been one of the few non-dementory journos at the BBC

BogRollBOGOF · 04/11/2020 09:47

I love ballet, but I would need to be reincarnated to stand any chance of being good Grin

I went to a lovely adult class for a few years pre-DCs. When I'm past the mum-taxi stage of life, it would be good to go back to something like that.

I had a good prance in the living room yesterday. DH was out and an irresistable song came on the radio, so I blasted it out and leaped and spun around. Grin

I have the grace and coordination of a hippo so wouldnt try

Actually that might be a slur on hippos.

I don't let that put me off. In my head, I am sprightly and elegant as I soar...

It feels good and the joists of the house don't complain too much Grin

I'm just horrendously inflexible despite a brain that loves yoga and dance.

Blobby10 · 04/11/2020 10:41

I was dancing round my kitchen yesterday evening to S Club 7 reliving a time when my children were young enough to join in and have fun and not go 'Oh Mum' with rolliing eyes and deep sighs Grin. (** it was my warm up for a home workout)

BogRollBOGOF · 04/11/2020 10:47

We can boogie on into the next thread.

Screech for the stars! Climb every mountain high...

ADs won't tut when you're stuck in a rut, we're all too busy pouring Amaretto in our porridge.

I still haven't worked out links after umpteen years Blush

@BogRollBOGOF
I think I read some of that thread this morning .... lots of people loving lockdown and enjoying the quieter pace of life. I can only assume they weren't responsible for holding down a stressful job and trying to home school and support isolated older parents at the time.

Anyway on my positive thoughts for the day I have just secured a supermarket delivery slot and have found some excellent deals on wine ...

Whoooootaminute · 04/11/2020 13:05

I'd LOVE to be able to do ballet.

Is 53 too late to start? Grin

i am having a busy morning watching the US elections on tv. Blimey! What a circus with a lead clown

justasking111 · 04/11/2020 13:43

Sad today 50 deaths in Scotland, 44 deaths in Wales, I am a bit tribal I think.

Many years ago I had a cassette which came with a book it was narrated by Hugh Laurie the book was "Giraffes can`t dance", we wore that book and cassette out with my little boy who adored it. The jungle creatures all danced. Even I dance with my grand kids, who are not a critical audience Grin
