Chortling quietly here about Ddog reduced to tears by his own fart, ladybee.

The deck washing has been postponed to 'tomorrow'. I suspected this would happen.

Champagneforeveryone · 15/10/2020 00:40

I have to buy cat biscuits later.

While being all grown up one day I went through all our monthly outgoings. When I totted up what we spend on the greedy freeloaders every month, we both gave a sharp intake of breath and vowed never to breathe a word in real life Wink

MissConductUS · 15/10/2020 01:26

We buy the posh cat food and treats on Amazon using their subscribe and save option and get 15% off. We opened a new super value sized jar of Greenies cat treats, which caused great feline excitement.

I've just been woken up by the foxes screaming. They don't half make a racket.

KoalaRabbit · 15/10/2020 01:52

Thanks for the new thread MissC Had some scotch pancakes with butter and now in bed.

soddingkitten · 15/10/2020 07:10

I don’t want to get out of bed. It’s warm and my legs are aching from overdoing it yesterday. If I get up, my day starts which means more zoom meetings and endless emails.

Spudlet · 15/10/2020 07:27

I had the most annoying dream ever last night. I was lying on the sofa in my dressing gown, with DS playing happily on the floor and ddog on my feet. Then some man who started as a paramedic (but wearing a jumper, not a proper uniform?) came to the door, said he was from social services and that he needed to come in and take a look around. And when I asked why, he said that my dog was on the sofa and did I know that dogs kill children?! And then, I woke up needing a wee - before I could give him both barrels! Angry

It then took me ages to get back to sleep because I was continuing the argument with my dream irritating person 🙈

BillywigSting · 15/10/2020 07:49

I woke up before my alarm today but I refused to move out of my lovely comfy warm bed.

I'm in work early and having a quick brew before the chaos that is the nursing floor begins. We've a half decent team today but I'm still dreading it a bit

poachedeggsandmushrooms · 15/10/2020 07:53

A man is coming today to treat our lawn and cut back some hedges.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 15/10/2020 08:15

@Frownette

I've just been woken up by the foxes screaming. They don't half make a racket.
I was nearly scared out of my wits the first time I heard them.

I was just going to have mushrooms on toast for breakfast but the mushrooms let's say are past their best.

TenCornMaidens · 15/10/2020 08:37

Thank you all for kind birthday wishes! It was a lovely day. It is now birthday boxing day so I am going to preface all my normal things with 'post-birthday'. Just going to make a post-birthday breakfast...

BusyDreaming · 15/10/2020 09:27

Ddogs are mystified and bemused because I can’t get the back door open this morning.
I am also mystified and bemused.

I’ve opened the front door to let them out to do their morning sniffing and business, while I continue to wrestle with the keys, but they’re staring at me as if I’m quite mad and are refusing to go into the garden unless I go with them.

Sometimes, I wonder if they’re not as bright as I like to think they are.

Squirrel26 · 15/10/2020 10:25

I had an extremely mundane and boring dream last night in which I was trying to walk home in West London (I do not live in West London, although I have in the past) but I got lost down one of the winding backstreets and ended up at a poncy food shop/ cafe. I googled this cafe and worked out where I needed to be. Google maps told me the walk would be 3 minutes.

Fascinating, huh?

Spudlet · 15/10/2020 10:37

@TenCornMaidens I missed that it was your birthday - happy post-birthday! 🎂

MissConductUS · 15/10/2020 11:12

I have learned a new word here - poncy! Thank you @Squirrel26.

I saw a skunk and a deer this morning while running. Both dashed off when they saw me.

I've just woken up DH with a cuddle and chat and am off for a bit of breakfast.

I got sworn at by many squirrels out running today - no deer though and if I ever see a skunk I’ve definitely taken a wrong turn Grin I did have a revelation though - I need a tarp! See, DS’s trailer bike hitches to the back of mine which makes quite a long beast - too long to wheel into the shed without taking them apart again, but that’s a fiddly PITA so I tend to leave them outside for the day and put them away after I’ve collected ds. But it’s been really showery here lately and they keep getting wet, which can’t be good for them. So we need a tarp to sling over them! I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner.

DH says he thinks we have one in the depths of the garage, but I’m not going in there alone in case Shelob attacks me. But he says he’ll get it out for me tomorrow. He’s much less juicy than me so I’m sure Shelob won’t go for him. It’s my birthday tomorrow though, so hopefully he won’t have seized on this tarp idea as my gift, mind you... Grin

These threads have been lovely. I am delurking to say that I have just had a really nice crisp Spartan apple.

Yesterday, my neighbour brought me a big bag of pears from her tree.

And, the sun is shining.

Quillink · 15/10/2020 13:03

Love these threads.

I have the day off. After clearing the table, I'm going to put up a new light in the hall. Might have to go and buy lightbulbs later.

vanillandhoney · 15/10/2020 13:04

My new wax melts smell of strawberry jam. They're making me crave toast but we only have raspberry jam in the cupboard Sad

FawnDrench · 15/10/2020 13:25

My washing is blowing nicely in the wind.

Earlier, next door were lopping the top off one of their trees with much shouting, harrumphing, huffing and puffing.

Just sat nice and quietly with the dog, enjoying the sunshine and garden view, and having another lovely cuppa.

vanillandhoney · 15/10/2020 14:03

My kitten is curled up next to me and he is actually cuddling my leg. He's snoring as well.

forgetthehousework · 15/10/2020 14:19

DH is unfitting a new door to the cupboard under the stairs.
It's going to be amazing as he intends to inset shelves into it, the right size for DVDs. He reckons it will take about 100, which means we will actually have them all put away! (Although I also know it means we will go out and buy more.)
I have just realised this thought is providing me with too much excitement for this thread.
I will think about hanging up the washing instead.

forgetthehousework · 15/10/2020 14:22

'Fitting', not 'unfitting' (although he has taken the old door off, which is technically 'unfitting' I suppose).

EggyPegg · 15/10/2020 14:53

DH booked today off just so he could have a me day. I was at work until 1240, I came home, had lunch and stared uni work. He just announced that he'd do the school run thus afternoon so that I could carry on working. Result. So now I'm on Mumsnet and eating veggie marshmallows.

Champagneforeveryone · 15/10/2020 16:11

DH bought the cat biscuits instead as I was in bed.

I can hear him telling DCat how he had to make a special journey to buy her posh biscuits, but that's alright because he loves her.
