I reorganised the pens on my work space. By "reorganised" I mean I put them in a pot rather than leaving them strewn everywhere. I am now admiring the tidiness.

KoalaRabbit · 16/10/2020 12:23

DDs light pink blanket has arrived in Dunelm. DH is sleeping. The cat is sleeping.

I have had a slow morning putting away a shop and tidying up the dining room properly. I have a medium term project of trying to get it super cosy for Christmas, which means putting away / getting rid of lots of tat and detritus. Nice to think about decorating it much later on.

Made a feta, spinach and smoked salmon omelette. It was lush.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/10/2020 12:55

I came home to find DD cleaning and tidying her room (uni is soon to start).
I will do nothing for a while and then - perhaps - have a look at my to do list.

Spudlet · 16/10/2020 13:06

Just home from a proper long birthday walk with DH and ddog. My walking boots clearly need some attention as my feet are all wet!

We got coffee and cake on the way home, and now DH is making a bacon sandwich. Today is a good day 😊

JuiceyBetty · 16/10/2020 13:43

I’m watching 27 dresses and just wondering how the hell she afforded it.

EggyPegg · 16/10/2020 14:16

I'm waiting for someone to collect a cosy toes that I've sold on FB Marketplace. I was rubbing my hands together with glee at my bonus £20, but it would appear that I listed it for a tenner. There was a pang of disappointment when I realised.

MissConductUS · 16/10/2020 14:21

Happy Birthday @Spudlet !

From me too!!! Cake

DH is cooking a curry (green) and DD is still doing up her room. She didn't put her pictures back up after renovating and is now deciding what to do with them.

vanillandhoney · 16/10/2020 14:30

DH came to work with me to walk the dogs today and we went to the beach. I introduced a new dog to the group and they all played nicely, which makes me happy as one of the dogs in my group is very nervous around new dogs.

kittensarecute · 16/10/2020 14:34

I just had an anxiety attack.
This is unexciting because I have them a lot. Have recovered now.

BillywigSting · 16/10/2020 14:45

I have had my weekly covid test (on my day off. Again.)

I'm going to make a nice pan of scouse for tea (sort of beef and potato stew. Very tasty and proper comfort food)

I still need to iron my uniform. I really don't want to. Might ask dp if he'll do it tomorrow. I don't need it until Sunday I have one already done for tomorrow.

Flowers for you.

Anxiety attacks are awful - I hope you're okay now.

kittensarecute · 16/10/2020 14:58

Yes am OK now thank you x

Squirrel26 · 16/10/2020 15:23

My phone keeps popping up a message about something to do with iCloud storage. I am not interested in dealing with it.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/10/2020 15:41

DD informed us that the proper name to give to a squirrel is "Linda".
She could not explain why.

Orangeblossom7777 · 16/10/2020 15:50

We have a yellow cocktail with orange cheeks. He is very attached today and has been since the children returned to school after the summer.

He squawks till he gets let out and then hangs out on my shoulder which is fine but can't really go out. Feeling trapped. A bit like having another baby. Though not as much work. He can have a nice song though

Orangeblossom7777 · 16/10/2020 15:50

Cockateil, but a cocktail would be nice

@BillywigSting

I really fancy scouse now. With beetroot and red cabbage and crusty rolls with butter on.

I will have to ask me mum to do a pan. "Me ma's scouse" is every scousers comfort, winter ground isn't it. I don't know how to cook it Sad.

nancybotwinbloom · 16/10/2020 15:52

Food! No idea why spell check changed it to ground.

forgetthehousework · 16/10/2020 16:04

DH and I have been for our flu jabs this afternoon.

BillywigSting · 16/10/2020 16:41

@nancybotwinbloom it is indeed! Mine isn't my mam's scouse but my mils scouse. My dm is from Crosby, a veggie, and also didn't know how to make it.

I just do mine and onion fried, then swede and carrot cubed, as much potato as you can stuff in (plus a bit more, all cut into different sizes so you get some that sort of dissolves into the gravy and thickens it and some proper chunks). Cold water and a couple of oxo. Salt and pepper. Bit of cornflour at the end if it's a bit thin.

It doesn't need any fancying up with herbs or wine. It's proper pauper comfort food and as much as mil isn't my favourite person in the world her scouse is bloody lovely. Grin
I use her recipe but mine is never as good. I've got proper bake at home crusty rolls, nice butter and beetroot too. Should be ready in about half an hour/forty minutes 😋

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/10/2020 16:56

I looked scouse up, as it sounds like sth I might enjoy. It is a Labskaus type dish, so very appropriate for autumn and winter. I take it every family has their own way of doing it?

We decided to take the garden hose in from the terrasse bc. the heating needs filling up again. We wanted to do this before it starts to rain. Yes, it started to rain the minute I put the thought into words.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 16/10/2020 17:14

More Cake and some Chocolate for spudlet.
