Seems to have shut up shop as from this morning.

I think we can all learn lessons from this and if I see any threads on anything like you've talked about, i'll be there!

I was thinking of starting a film thread actualy, I have watched some really fantastic films during covid, that have stayed with me and I would love to pass on some recommendations.

Have a look at this thread
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4050758-Come-and-tell-me-your-dull-and-unexciting-news-5-Calmly-through-the-day
It's the latest in a series.

SunbathingDragon · 14/10/2020 21:06

Considering this thread had a huge amount of indignation about people on the other site talking about them, it seems exactly what people are doing here now.

Maybe it’s had its time, maybe it will continue, but if posters on here genuinely want to be left alone then they need to stop posting on MN about what is being said and going on over there.

thefatladyscreams · 14/10/2020 21:09

Yes SunbathingDragon - I thought that was slightly ironic.

Roussette · 14/10/2020 21:10

That's laughable considering the MN thread over there is about 700 pages, (and looks to continue) and this is just one thread that has been running for three days and is about to finish.

Samcro · 14/10/2020 21:13

Oh yes, we must not talk about what happened.
We must not talk about how posters like me were ripped apart on there.

Hopefully it won't happen again, but if it does I like Roussete am not going to stay silent.

This is what I always have to tell my littlest patients, but if you want something to get better then you need to leave it alone. It’s obviously not always the case but very apt here. I know you have been hurt, annoyed, and frustrated by the other site but you say you want to move on, so do so.
minou123 · 14/10/2020 21:18

As per the suggestion on this thread the other day, I've read through the HaM and Justine/MN threads.

I've read what was written about Rousette, Samcro, Froggy, the poster from black mumsnetter and one of the MN moderators. (And others) And I think they have been quite calm based on the really horrendous things that have been said about them.

Roussette · 14/10/2020 21:19

This thread is finishing, and really don't need you to tell me to 'move on'.

Perhaps if the other site revitalises, those over there could move on from MN and talking about it, after how long is it, 6 months?
I live in hope!

HeIenaDove · 14/10/2020 21:28

I really REALLY dont understand the obsession with the Royals. Why spend hours and hours talking about them. I saw yet another trailer for yet another programme about Princess Di earlier. Its going to pick apart the reasons for her Panorama interview Why? What the fuck for?

Port1aCastis · 14/10/2020 21:31

Digging the dirt gets viewers same as dishing it gets clicks however no bugger likes it dug about themselves!

HeIenaDove · 14/10/2020 21:41

I havent deleted my account there yet. I dont want my posts there to disappear.

Well I re-registered, had a run in with one poster who said the Justine thread was the best thing on there, and was promptly banned.

So tells you something, possibly, about who's moderating the site.

Iwasonmumschat · 14/10/2020 22:10

Blast

I joined the other place and I pointed out there was indeed racism. I have now been banned. So I don’t think it’s changed much!

Oh dear. It's not going well is it. 😂
TartanSlippers · 14/10/2020 22:15

@Andante57

Re the c0mments on here about posters discussing and disparaging other posters between themselves on the thread - is that against mn rules? I ask because there have been some pretty unpleasant examples of that on Brexit threads. It certainly drives away posters with views dissenting from the majority on the thread, but I’m surprised it’s allowed.
I'm not sure, but I believe I've seen MNHQ say that sort of thing is against the rules when it's happened on other threads. Not for me to judge though.
Iwasonmumschat · 14/10/2020 22:15

I was banned for pointing out that trolling the black mumsnetters section on here was really rather racist.

HeIenaDove · 14/10/2020 22:18

Oh it looks like they have done it. My posts are still there thankfully.

TartanSlippers · 14/10/2020 22:20

@Leimarel

The arguments have broken out already, if the administrator wasn't already nervous, they will be now Confused It's doomed, if they can't even hide their racism in a discussion thread about whether to resurrect the site or not!
And you think that those posters are the originals, and not doppelganger troublemakers who have gone over there on purpose to have their fun?

Would that ever happen on t'internet? Surely not.

Hokeywokey · 14/10/2020 22:24

The Admin is deleting posts and banning people all over the shop. Someones password is on show.

It's a bloody shambles.

Well... every time anyone on MN mentioned that place since it opened, their posts have been zapped. Which would explain the lack of long-running threads, wouldn't it? This is the first time that MN has let one run.
