Seems to have shut up shop as from this morning.

Good!
A mate of mine was treated appallingly on there, for having a joke about Boris Johnson
They would constantly slag off here but they were worse. You couldn't contact admin either and she was abused for two days solid and told to shut up and stop bringing it up yet she had stopped joining in with the discussion days before. She then got banned because of this.
Vile, racist, Tory bullies the lot of them and I'm glad it's gone before someone got very hurt by it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/10/2020 13:25

@LoeliaPonsonby

Anyone mind giving a potted history for the uninitiated?
It was an 'alternative to Mumsnet' site, started by a troll who continued to troll here and blatantly tried to poach MN users.
MagicSummer · 11/10/2020 13:26

I felt very LUCKY being a part of it!

Howzaboutye · 11/10/2020 13:26

Can we make a new thread on here to keep chatting in? Gosh.
I'll still think about folk on there and wonder how they were getting on.
Fare ye well all

Hokeywokey · 11/10/2020 13:27

One less racist shithole on the internet.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 11/10/2020 13:27

I mean one benefit was that it coralled a lot of the racist trolls together which made here a bit more peaceful
Apart from their totes hilaires invasions

You lot despised and trolled MN and now you want to use it to chat on?
WotsitWiggle · 11/10/2020 13:29

@goldfinchfan

Any chance of a return?

It did have some thoughtful posts I was enjoying reading

Doesn't read like it, goldfinch, very much reads like Admin had had enough of moaning about site changes and ads, and the 'membership' wasn't growing.
Hobnobswantshernameback · 11/10/2020 13:30

Ah t he irony
The first few weeks all they posted about over there was how shit mumsnet is and how their site was so much better and how they'd never go back
So clearly most never left and now they want to set up a thread on here to chat
Hahahahahahahahahahaha

MillieVanilla · 11/10/2020 13:31

Yes they did used to find that funny, coming over here to stir. I had told her not to have any of it, I went to read for about a week and found it vile. As for the admin shutting it because of complaints, that's the biggest case of "don't admin with favourites and ignore bullying by them" as a cautionary tale I've seen. My mate was literally in tears and then others asked why was she banned when she was the one getting abuse off three if them (worse than any I've ever seen here) and they were apparently then banned too. Obviously these band of trolls caused so much shit that others probably left of were banned for daring to upset them. Let's just hope they don't end up here. Especially the bloke who liked being abusive to women.
Janegrey333 · 11/10/2020 13:31

@SimonJT

Oh no, where will the racists posts pictures of the minstrels now?!
I didn’t actually see that but it was clearly a despicable thing to do. I hope people rounded on her or him and tried to instruct them about decent human conduct.
OP posts:
Saucery · 11/10/2020 13:32

It started off ok, but soon got taken over by single issue posters who only wanted to wank on about MM, MN and try and outdo each other with disgusting photos and memes.
Shame for the posters just wanting to chat, though.

AnneKipanki · 11/10/2020 13:33

They did @Janegrey333.

WotsitWiggle · 11/10/2020 13:33

@Howzaboutye

Can we not tar everyone with the same brush? People had their reasons for using another forum, I'm members of several, and my only disappointment about MN is that the UX is so clunky.

Howzaboutye · 11/10/2020 13:36

I agree, I just used it to chat on, I've always been on both sites. Mumsnet is much bigger, but the user interface is a bit old fashioned.

MillieVanilla · 11/10/2020 13:36

No I agree, I would rather ex mumschats weren't allowed here but knowing HQ they will act a lot quicker to weed out the trolls and bullies pretty swiftly. And at least you can actually get a reply from HQ.

S0CKS · 11/10/2020 13:36

How very sad!

Hokeywokey · 11/10/2020 13:37

I net MNHQ are laughing their heads off. Will the 20 times banned poster try and make a comeback?

vanillandhoney · 11/10/2020 13:38

Good.

It was awful on there. Full of some appalling racism, for starters.

Neacy · 11/10/2020 13:38

I never got involved in any in fighting, I was always happy and chatty, never took myself seriously, loved reading the morning history lesson, I will miss everyone on the BC, I’ll miss the worst/best covers.

There is nothing like that on here for me, that’s why I very rarely post.

So goodbye my fellow MC’s.

I never moaned about the site, I was happy that it was there, it was the site for me, but my son did warn me, you cannot run a website without adds, unless you charge a small fee for it, shame it happened.

Have a healthy, happy life, maybe we will meet again on another new chat site. 😁

Neacy · 11/10/2020 13:39

I agree that’s why I don’t post on here, well apart from today.
DotForShort · 11/10/2020 13:42

Good. It was full of insufferable racists.

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/10/2020 13:43

Shame Grin Grin looks like mumsnet has the last laugh.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 11/10/2020 13:43

I'm delighted. Awful place.

WotsitWiggle · 11/10/2020 13:44

@howsaboutye

Sorry, just realised I tagged you instead of @hokeywokey

(Because the UX is poor!)

There were some very vocal posters who made it known they'd been banned from here several times. But a great many just found a nice forum with like minded people that was easy and intuitive to use.
