Seems to have shut up shop as from this morning.

There were definitely PBP on there, but there were also many posters who used both sites at the same time. I agree it is time to move on so it’s probably best to stop looking at the other site and let it go. I have said loads of times that lessons should be learned. It would be nice if people were kinder to each other. There are some sweeping generalisations being made about a whole group of people and that really isn’t very nice.

I wouldn't go back to a supermarket after slagging it off publicly.
its a good call about stopping the M threads. I have never in 16 years I have been on here seen so many threads slagging one person off.

@artisticpiles that is why I said “some”, not “all”. Of course MN isn’t exclusive, that would be ridiculous.

But some posters know full well they were trying to spam/steal posters/criticise MN and its posters and yet have come straight back, and that’s incredibly cheeky. Some of them also had the nerve to criticise the red place for doing exactly what they were doing at the same time, which is rather lacking in self awareness even if technically correct in some cases. How meta!

What I find astounding is who can be arsed to set up several different accounts on here why waste the time so you can be banned again, it really is peculiar the lengths folk will go to...... can't be healthy

From what I can see, there was one solitary poster who bragged about having 20+ usernames here, and also claiming to have been the one to orchestrate the dismal recruitment drive for MC, spamming threads and sending unsolicited PMs. Poor soul. All that hard work, unrewarded.

No more threads about Harry and Meghan on MN? That is brilliant news. Most of those threads were disgraceful, absolutely full of racist posts. Excellent decision, MNHQ.

I'm just wondering... this is post 904 of this thread. It will be a one off I'm sure.
Any ideas for how we can move on? Are all the unresolved issues now resolved?

I would hate to think of anyone who was over there and faffing about on the nice threads feeling they can't post on MN for fear of retaliation.

And for those who hated it here but have come back because they're homeless... fine.. but there are TG's here and it's a very different place as far as modding than you've been used to!

I agree samcro no H&M threads will give everyone a chance to have a breather, to reset things and to start again

I think we should all stand up more when we see posters being bullied, or the nasty 'mean girls' pile-ons. Just report them.

Oh, this thread has some bullshit, it really does.

Some of the posters defending MC/ the M&H threads were some of the worst bullies of other posters.

It's such bull to say "ohhh but we just want to discuss the history of the monarchy". There are plenty of threads were you can discuss the monarchy within its historic and contemporary sociopolitical context. The M&H threads were just sheer, gleeful "let's have fun throwing shit at Meghan" hatefests. If you want to discuss the RF, why chose a thread that regularly gets sidetracked into ten pages of 'Why Meghan's Acting Career Was C-List At Best'? Where posters seem far more interested in round 836,374 of "Remember that time in 2013 when Meghan wore an inappropriately sexual crop top" than debating anything current? Where the majority of posters and certainly the overall atmosphere is ferociously pro-monarchy and where you get absolutely torn to shreds for voicing even the slightest negative opinion on William or Kate? There's an active thread right now about Prince William - perfect place for those wishing to discuss the role of the RF in 21stC Britain - yet funnily enough those claiming to want such a debate are either absent, or actively defending William.

One thing I find very interesting. A few weeks ago I had a post about my personal experiences working with Netflix deleted (a post that didn't even mention Meghan), and MNHQ later re-instated the post as it'd been deleted due to a malicious false report. Going from comments here and elsewhere it's clear to me that the agenda in getting that post removed was resentment at the idea of a woman of colour - ANY woman of colour - having a successful entertainment industry career, and wanting to remove any post where I talked with authority and insider knowledge about Netflix because those posts damage the credibility of the whole "Froggy's obviously lying about working in TV" thing they're so keen to push.

Anyway, I pointed out that in addition to MNHQ's email I also had screencaps of posts on MC where posters were openly discussing the best lies to tell to fool "gullible" MNHQ into deleting posts.

And several posters jumped on me claiming that MC DID NOT EVEN EXIST. That I was a liar, that MC was all purely an invention of my sick mind. They exploited the fact MN board software automatically blocks any post containing MC's name or URL by saying "post a link to this alleged MC site, if you can't it's proof you're lying and making it all up."

And oh look. Some of the same posters who were all over that thread are now here, freely discussing how they posted on MC.

The same MC that only a couple of weeks ago they were swearing blind didn't exist at all.

I only remember the names of the ones that targeted people like us. I think they were banned.
Surely anyone else just carries on as normal.its not like they are going to come on mn(or back to) and try to recreate mc.(that would be odd)

oh yes, those names are imprinted on my brain as are their MN names.
It's kind of the mc Admin to leave the forum up so I can check if I'm not sure lol.

But, as I said before, for all those who have had the rug pulled out from under them for no fault of their own, we can look forward and enjoy our time here.

Still somewhere sometime they'll get a taste of their own medicine. As my Gran used to say Karma always gets the all gob and no guts types.
She was a wise lady and usually right.

The only 'advice' my Gran offered me on a regular basis was ... don't sit on stone walls or you'll get piles 😂

I wonder if the same people who use that much mental energy to attack other people used it to tackle the problems in their lives they CAN control, that they would be able to fix many (if not all) the things going wrong for them?

still good advice though Rousette. My Gran was a formidable woman who took no prisoners and didn't suffer fools gladly she was a plotter in the WRAC during WW2 so never stopped talking about it ad infinitum .....died in 2016 at age 98. I miss her enormously.

But why? I think the other place had sussed her, though, before everything was closed. They had Banned under her name before they made everyone, including her, “guests”. Now that she is hidden away where the troll hunters reside, she has lost her captive audience. It’s for the greater good.

No idea why on the captive audience, nowt as queer as folk.

As the admin over there said, she'd had some very unpleasant interractions with a couple of members at the end so I presume that was why that happened.

To summarise it would appear some people have far to much time on their hands and so make mischief online for reasons only known to themselves but at the expense of others and that is pretty grim

I'm glad the forum hasn't been deleted in its entirety and should people wish to trawl through the material to confirm it was populated by mostly Meghan Markle hating racists, they can. Once it's gone, they can deny ever saying such horrific things, can't they? I expect a similar site will pop up sooner or later and we'll be treated to the 'I'm not racist but' rhetoric once again, until that too, is closed down.
