A strange cat has just climbed into my bedroom

I'm in bed happily reading my book and a cat has just climbed through the window and settled down on my feet.
Neither of our neighbours have a cat. I have no idea where it's from.
It's a very pretty cat so I think I will let it stay, at least until dh comes up and throws it out.

@rubydoobydoo your cat's expression! Grin Puss in Boots from Shrek could take lessons from him!

rubydoobydoo · 15/12/2020 00:29

He's not my cat! Grin

BalloonSlayer · 15/12/2020 07:38

@rubydoobydoo Sorry I meant your Rentacat. Grin

This makes me sad! We have 2 cats, but used to have a couple of visitors. They lived a few doors down, but would both visit regularly. The older one looked just like Mog from the books and was a lovely old thing. Would curl up on your lap all night. Suddenly stopped visiting and think he passed. Another little tortoiseshell thing that would curl up with one of our cats - that made a lovely couple! Again, just disappeared one day so think she does as well.
Sad, as my daughter still asks about her!
Loads of other cats round us but none that come to visit 😞.

We have a NotOurCat... I have had to stop leaving DS' window open all day as NOC comes in all the time, favouring his bed as the duvet is so snuggly and is bathed in sunlight on fine days.

We don't feed her as I don't want to give her the wrong stuff, but I'm not entirely sure she has a home. She's named Catty (Cati?) by the children (though got renamed Covid Cat for a bit at the beginning of summer when covid was found in cats Grin) and is found lounging on our south-facing window ledges throughout the day.
Catty especially likes to paw on the kitchen window looking hungry when I'm cooking a roast or fish, but she's a good size and looks healthy so I haven't indulged her, much to the children's disgust.

I have caught my dcat sat in front of a mirror. I swear he was practising his Hard Done By face for the neighbours.. Since April when his dbro died he has doubled in weight..
They both used to come home smelling (Envy) not envy.... of cheap perfume.
Seems dcat is still eating both their food top ups.

Not read the full thread but where are you op? Similar looking cat is on a missing cats Facebook page I’m on.

rubydoobydoo · 15/12/2020 13:32

Not our cat is out there now, poking his tongue out at me.

I had a NMC, who quickly became a MC due to some extremely clever and effective self marketing. I saw him on the downstairs window sill. Pitifully thin, you could have got your hand around his abdomen in front of his back legs . I took him some cat biscuits to eat, fully intending to close the door firmly as we already had a cat who liked being a singleton.

He ignored the biscuits, all he wanted was human stroking and snuggling. The little bugger was inside the house (where he stayed) before I realised I had been taken for a sucker! To be fair he was a bit of a velcro boy.

He had been in a home before because he had missing fur round his neck from a too tight collar, he was neutered but wasn’t chipped.

Please microchip your cat, so easy to do.

Oh! I am loving that this thread has been revived.....keep the posts coming, cat-owned people...you are making my day...we don't have a cat or a NMC...too many coyotes😭
@rubydoobydoo...couldn't you at least have spared an umbrella for the poor underloved little thing😂
@Milomonster.....thank you for the photos of your little darling...I bet he/she entertains you no end

Diva66 · 15/12/2020 18:25

My cat used to do this.

Sweetpea1532 · 15/12/2020 18:29

@Diva66
What did your MC used to do?

Diva66 · 15/12/2020 20:03

@Sweetpea1532 Climb through people’s bedroom windows

MrsKellySeveride · 15/12/2020 20:51

#notmycat walked in 3 years ago, never left. He's usually quite a normal cat, but today he's sleeping on the stove 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sweetpea1532 · 16/12/2020 17:34

Hahahalol, I did have a cat walk into my lounge about 8 years ago@Diva66 but he took one look at me and flew right back out the door .....😭 I've never seen him again

Sweetpea1532 · 16/12/2020 17:41

@MrsKellySeveride
NMC heard that a thread had started on MN and decided he better up his game for the funny cats antics category so you wouldn't feel left out by just having a normal NMC

QueenPawPaws · 26/12/2020 23:43

Still not my cat
My actual cat kept going in peeping at him then coming out all "he STILL sleeping. Wanna play" Grin

@QueenPaws
It takes a lot of energy to be a not my cat

clpsmum · 27/12/2020 21:32

@QueenOllie just brilliant 🤣🤣

QueenPawPaws · 27/12/2020 21:40

@Sweetpea1532 he's been asleep here for 6hrs so far...

Hangingover · 27/12/2020 21:44

We have a NMC too. She's asleep on DP at the moment and whomping him with her tail.

She's the neighbors, she's here at least 5 hours each day. It brill, all the company, none of the little box or feeding Grin

Sweetpea1532 · 30/12/2020 09:02

@QueenPaws
Please send NMC over to me! He looks so cuddly.

Crunchymum · 30/12/2020 10:10

DP's parents had a NMC wonder in one day in 2005. She never left, lived a very happy life until her passing a few months ago. She wasn't microchipped, no-one ever claimed her so my in-laws were adopted by their NMC Grin

Sweetpea1532 · 06/01/2021 07:26

@QueenPaws
What are your little ones up to in the new year? Did NMC make a resolution to finally play with your cat?
