A strange cat has just climbed into my bedroom

I'm in bed happily reading my book and a cat has just climbed through the window and settled down on my feet.
Neither of our neighbours have a cat. I have no idea where it's from.
It's a very pretty cat so I think I will let it stay, at least until dh comes up and throws it out.

They take over your furniture eventually too. It's been 18 months of me telling him he doesn't live here. He's been in three times today
@KatherineJaneway he loves if I'm watching a horror film to sneak up and bang on the window. My cat is HmmHmm "mama, PAWS is here again"
Yes, we get a visitor that my two go nuts over. I know he / she 🐈 knows they create havoc in the Janeway household

@Jjacobb - is he likely to stay??

Beach11 · 05/10/2020 21:36

I want a cat!

StanfordPines · 05/10/2020 21:37

In lieu of the op posting pictures of the cat that has adopted her, here are the kittens that have adopted my mum. (Well the did a month or two ago).

@Jjacobb

Quimreaper, window stays open all year. I can't sleep otherwise.
You must be our neighbour who does that. The cat in you picture is just like ours and he went out about half an hour ago.
YellowHighlighterPen · 05/10/2020 21:39

Oo I think it's a female pregnant with her first litter casing the joint.Grin

Shmithecat2 · 05/10/2020 21:39

You have been chosen. Congrats on your new cat!

Also, pics or it didn't happen.Wink

PeaceAndHarmoneeee · 05/10/2020 21:44

My neighbor 3 doors down informed me this morning that he was woken by his cat jumping up on his bed in the middle of the night- except it wasn't his cat, it was mine.

It then apparently gave him 'dirty looks' when he got up in the morning 😂

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 05/10/2020 21:46

I would love OP's visitor to be SirGawain's cat. I can't see the photo though Sad

hazelnutlatte · 05/10/2020 21:48

I once found a random cat on my sofa. My own cats were hiding upstairs. I posted a picture of it on Facebook and half the neighbourhood had also been visited by this cat - he was known as 'Big Dave' and had been informally adopted by someone a few streets away, although they only saw him about once a week.

JM10 · 05/10/2020 21:50

Ffs! Why can’t I have a strange cat visit me?I’m jealous

Me too!

And I can't see the photo 😭😭😭

TwoZeroTwoZero · 05/10/2020 21:53

I remember years ago when we used to stay at my dad's every weekend. My sister and I had to share the double bed. One night someone must've left the door open and I woke in the middle of the night to find a random black cat in the bed with us!

Larsingsong · 05/10/2020 21:57

Aah I was secretly hoping he was my cat (I know that's ridiculous 🙄), ours disappeared a few days ago and we're all so upset. It's the kind of thing he'd do, in fact my neighbour used to send me photos of him making himself at home there anytime of day or night

Lurleene · 05/10/2020 21:59

This young kitty has the opposite problem. I am cat sitting this week and tonight is the first night. She is clearly thinking WTF is this strange woman doing in my house.

@QuimReaper

Where are you that it's warm enough to have your window open?!
I'm in the SE, it's not terribly cold here, but my bedroom windows is always open at night. I get headaches and always wake up too hot if it's not.
SirGawain · 05/10/2020 22:05

We used to have a cat flap. I came downstairs in the early hours and found four or five strange cats in the living room.

MJMG2015 · 05/10/2020 22:07

@QueenOllie

This is not my cat
The photo at the window, he looks alarmed! Were you doing something naked & fun?!
LoveEatYoga · 05/10/2020 22:08

Is there supposed to be a photo?

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 05/10/2020 22:12

I’d love to find 5 cats in my living room!

EggyPegg · 05/10/2020 22:13

We used to have a cat flap. I woke up to find a strange cat on my windowsill above my bed one night.

We have a bruiser of a tabby that usually sets up residence in the garden. Lounges all over the garden furniture and the trampoline like he owns the joint. Cat2 seems on relatively friendly terms with him. Cat1 thinks he's a bellend.
