Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

Thanks chasing - that sounds good. After reading on here about letting Eufy 'do his thing' and 'leave him to find his way back to the charger', I was worried by moving him around he'd be confused....

maybe that's just based on my DP hoovering😂

Chasingsquirrels · 06/10/2020 08:33

As far as I can make out the "return to charger" (which activates when it hits a set charge depletion point, or by remote/app command) means it stops vacuuming and continues to wander about totally aimlessly until it happens to pass the charger (which presumably emits a signal), at which point it docks.

So if it doesn't find the charger it continues to wander aimlessly until it runs out of charge. If you have the app it will notify you that it is getting low on charge.

I just tend to put it upstairs for a hour then find it and bring it down, easier to find while it is still going (by noise) than after it has lost all charge a D stopped (just in case it is under something).

Some really good Eufy deals on Amazon Prime days at the moment.

Only just started using ours. 13 year old dd got it up and running using the app. I've just emptied the dust box and had to cut hair out of the brush. This is always an issue with 2 teenage girls and me shedding hair. Nearly got a shark hair wrap technology vacuum but decided on the Eufy. So far so good

Mine had a little cutting tool with it to clear the brush. I only have to use it when it's done my bedroom - I she'd loads when I'm drying & styling my hair.

Oh I'll look for that. Haven't explored it properly yet. Think I'll read the rest of the thread to get more info about it and read the manual. I used it on the landing earlier which has a little L shape and it seemed a bit random how it was doing it before it ran out of charge. Will have another go later

Chasingsquirrels · 13/10/2020 17:27

I was just going to post a picture of it and came across this community.anker.com/t/trying-to-clean-my-eufy-roller-brush/73786.

It is totally random!

nessnessness · 13/10/2020 20:20

Got the Dyson out today to do my stairs and whilst plugged in, I went over the hall, dining room and office.
Said to DH "dont let Guffy see me, he'll get jealous!" I didn't go into the lounge where Guffy was sleepingHalo

Oblomov20 · 24/10/2020 11:10

I need to re-read this thread.
Why I haven't bought a eufy I just don't know! Angry

TrickyD · 24/10/2020 11:29

Oblomov20, there will probably be Black Friday deals for Eufy. Decide which model you want in advance and be ready to pounce.

£220 for the 15. or £272 for the 30
Halloween 🎃 deals.
Not as good price as the £180 listed at the beginning of this thread. Sad

Chasingsquirrels · 24/10/2020 12:36

I brought the 30C max (30=boundary strips, C=app connectivity, max=stronger suction) for £210 just after the really good deals. I think I've seen it for £190 cheapest since.

I didn't particularly want the boundary strips, but when I brought mine it was on offer and cheaper than the 15C max (same but without boundary strips).
BUT I do use the strips and find them useful.

Oblomov20 · 24/10/2020 12:37

27th November? Will set a calendar reminder. Thanks TrickyD.
I don't care if it's the 30 or the 15, but based on this thread I think I prefer the 15.

Oblomov20 · 24/10/2020 12:40

Dh can't understand why I want one.
Thus I need to find a good deal, under £200, to convince him.

BrigitsBigKnickers · 24/10/2020 13:20

I got my 30C for £142 last week- reckon similar deals will be to had on Black Friday.

TrickyD · 24/10/2020 14:18

Neither could my DH understand why I wanted one, Oblomov20. He was just humouring me. But he is a huge Eufy fan now. He triumphantly shows me what Eufy has picked up in his litter tray - a lost earring last week.

Sometimes you need to ignore them and just do it.

You’re buying a vacuum Not re-mortgaging the house.

Letsleepingdogslie8 · 14/11/2020 19:00

We inherited a different make one and it wasn’t great. I’ve been researching Eufy and have seen on Amazon that they don’t work as effectively on black floors. Anyone have any experience of this? Our kitchen floor is black tiles (which I hate!).

AllDruggedUpWithNowhereToGo · 14/11/2020 21:57

I have dark blue and dark brown carpet (inherited) and eufy works fine on both, and on quarry tiles and floorboard too... although he has a liking for the quarry tiles and frequently runs out of battery while fondling them

WelcomeToGreenvale · 14/11/2020 22:54

I just unpacked mine today and he's amazing and I love him like my very own child, he did an amazing job and I only had to cut my hair out of his rollers twice.

However twice now he's woken up on his own and started going without input, the first time I'd just walked past him and thought I might have bumped him off his dock, but just now I'm on my own on the sofa and he started up for no reason and the app still says he's on standby. He's not scheduled to clean right now. Why would he be doing this? It's OK pal, you worked hard today, you can rest now

(seriously why is it doing this? shouldn't it just sit on the charge dock until i activate it or until it's scheduled to clean?)

countdowner · 15/11/2020 09:18

Can you lot help me chose? I've got wooden or LVT tiled floors everywhere except the spare room (which is hardly ventured into), so reading this thread would suggest that the 30 would be fine. But I've long thick hair, 2 shedding dogs and we're generally a mucky country house. Would I be better upping the power, or on hardwood will it not really matter?

BrigitsBigKnickers · 15/11/2020 09:26

I have a mix of tiles, hardwood floors and carpets ( and a long haired dog) and the30C works well for me. I empty the dust box and do the filters regularly and also clean the roller.

I really am very surprised at how much it picks up-even good on the edges.
