Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.
Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

We are all short haired including the cat. I imagine you would need to flick out the revolving brush and take off any hair.,

Gosh I really really want one but I had a really awful one years ago that I bought from one of the supermarkets and it was so rubbish I promised myself I would never have one again. However now I’ve got 3 kids, 9 guinea pigs and 2 dogs I am so very tempted...

Ours does well along the skirting boards and in the hall where the first bunnies live.

I think they work much better on hard floor than carpet.

So glad this popped up on my active, I have been meaning to order some sort of robot vacuum for months but haven’t had the time to get my head around it all.

What is the difference between all the different models? Would they handle a variety of floor surfaces (hard flooring, hard flooring with flat weave rug, carpet and carpet with deep pile rug), long human hair and long dog hair?

I like to set him going while I do other tasks like dusting or polishing. It's like having company while you work GrinGrinGrin

Just seen BurnIt’s post so that answers one question!

My eufy copes fine with the edges and as pp said they have a just do the edge function if it needs a bit more attention , he can get into the corners fairly well , perhaps missing just a inch deep in the corner he can also spot clean just one small area .

Ooh I have a set of Eufy sensor lights too , they are battery operated night lights , they are great for if you have to get up when its dark to go to the loo or get ready for work etc , they stay on for 15 seconds I have had mine since about Feb and they are still on the 1st set of batteries
( although one is now getting a bit dimmer now )

Oh god I really need one don't I?

Yes, you do. I've had my eufy for a year and a half and I'll never be without one again.

@avocuddl

Yay!! Please let me know what you think after it arrives. My experience was crazy. I used to Hoover every bloody day, (cats, kids, dog, etc), and even still, I was SHOCKED at how much it picked up. My very favourite thing is that it can go under my king sized bed which is a massive pain in the arse with a Hoover. No more cat hair and dust living under there!

Was totally sold too that I can shout ' hey google do the hoovering ' or something to that effect Grin

Haha! I admit, when I first got it, the first time I used it I followed it around laughing like a loon watching it zoom around the house. I was giddy!

I've got one too. It's great, picks up a lot of dust and the DC talk to it like a pet. My only issue is that it seems to get itself tied up in any cables that it finds.

I have some questions!

Does it easily go across thresholds into different rooms?

How effective is it at collecting dog hair? (Bloody spaniel...)

Can it switch between different surfaces easily? Lounge is all hardwood floor but with a big rug in the middle.

I really really want one.

Thesaltandthesea

Thresholds not an issue unless it's a big lip - we have a sloped lip between kitchen an dining room and it takes it a couple of trys to get up it, but hard floor to carpet or on the rug and it has no issues.

Seems great with cat hair and human hair. No dog so couldn't comment.

Had ours for almost a year now. It's the best thing ever.
I don't schedule ours but put it on when I think it needs it. I just have a quick wander around checking there's nothing he will get tangled in.
Dd has long red hair and I do have to clean roller whenever he's done her room.
Interested to hear Eufy do handheld vacs as well. I want to get something like that to do the stairs. Will take a look now.

Gosh- I am so tempted...... does anyone know the difference between the c30 and the G 30????

We love ours. It's like a member of the family and we've named him!

I would never be without one now.

Mine is called Rupert and he is the best thing I've ever bought!

I have the G10 hybrid for hard flooring so he sweeps and mops. I am shocked at just how much he picks up everyday. I thought I would still need to do a proper hoover once a week, but I've had him a month and Henry hasn't come out from under the stairs.

My only small complaint is that I need to remember to empty his dust collector daily.

Can they cope with rugs with tassely bits on the end?

Report
TrickyD · 14/08/2020 09:43

We have rugs with fringes of about two inches and he is fine with those.

Dobby if you have nothing but hard floors there is a one that mops but apparently not suitable for carpets. snaxinyourslacks has one.

I get the impression that most people have gone for the 30C.
