Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

No! I think hair types are very different and it prob works well for others but was awful for my hair

TimeTruthandHearts · 14/08/2020 18:42

The Big Hair made me look like this.

But really, my own stupid sheepy fault- what on earth possessed me, with my thick, strong mop head, to buy a product called Big Hair?!

Time I was kind of similar- my hair is wavy in places and curly in others and the babyliss did NOT produce the promised results Grin

Hile pile vs medium pile

I think I have medium but not sure! That’s only thing stopping me from splurging

Can anyone assist?

Atadaddicted · 14/08/2020 19:19

And yes me too could do with guidance re 15 or 30 please!

Sexnotgender · 14/08/2020 19:27

As far as I can see the only difference between the 15 and 30 is the boundary strips? Not sure I need them anyway.

Amazon has them for the same price as the Eufy website.

Sexnotgender · 14/08/2020 19:31

Ordered the 15C Max. I’m blaming you all!

Stitchhelp · 14/08/2020 19:32

30 has the boundary and 15 doesn’t?

Stitchhelp · 14/08/2020 19:34

Actually the 30 seems to have more suction power too

LittleMissPlump · 14/08/2020 19:37

Gosh I hope you’re not all part of some very clever and effective advertising campaign because I’ve just ordered the 30c. Cannot wait for it to arrive and start taking over vacuuming duties!

AlCalavicci · 14/08/2020 19:37

I have a vampire one too , I have dark purple carpet and if the sun is shining he gets in s tiz and won't step foot ( whisker? ) into the sun but it's not a big issue for me I just close the curtains for a few mins .
@Atadaddicted
Even my very basic one has a anti lemming device built in so he doesn't throw himself down the stairs
That's why the won't go from dark to light as they think it's a step , bless them but they are not that bright Grin

Sexnotgender · 14/08/2020 19:39

The 15c max has higher suction according to amazon.

Me too. Do you think they will wonder why they’ve got a spike in sales.
Sexnotgender · 14/08/2020 19:41

30C has 1500pa suction and 15C max has 2000pa.

Shedpaint · 14/08/2020 19:42

Assume this is no good for our house as the downstairs is on two levels? It’s just one step up/down but this is just for a flat area is that right?

BeeFarseer · 14/08/2020 19:43

Meet my Eufy. We love him (eyes are model's own Grin). He is an 11s, so one of the more basic models. We don't have the fancy magnetic strips but we don't need them, as we don't even use the timer function. He is about 6 weeks old and our first robot vacuum.

Ds(4) loves him and gets quite upset when he gets trapped, and will then effect a rescue yelling 'Mummy, he needs HELP NOW'.

I have very long hair and it gets tangled in the brushes and rotating arms, but it is the work of a moment to do a quick detangle every time I empty the dust tray.

We haven't used the boundary strips for our 30c. Only place we might use them is a step but the drop sensors do the job instead.

He’s beautiful.

Oh yes one downside.

My kids are old enough now that we can slip out to the pub for an hour or 2. This is s thing in the last 6 months or so. FREEDOM!

Yesterday in the pub I got a notification that our lovely new cleaning fella was stuck and needed attention. FFS. in the pub. It was literally a MUUUUMMMM! text. From the robot.

The kids had switched their phones off Hmm and so we had to drink up and get back to him. He had experienced difficulty with a piece of paper.

MyNameIsJane · 14/08/2020 20:01

I think I’ve been using ours for 2 weeks it is great!

TrickyD · 14/08/2020 20:22

We have a doormat behind the front door in a recess. He could climb in easily over the slightly raise threshold but couldn't get out and panicked.
So we placed the boundary strips along the metal threshold rim and they keep him at bay.

@JustHereWithMyPopcorn I would just set it to do that room when the sun isn't shining in.

Theluggage15 · 14/08/2020 20:43

I’ve had my Eufy getting on for a year now and had it in my Amazon basket for ages until I took the plunge but definitely don’t regret it. It’s a gadget that I actually use and does a really good job. If you’ve just bought one, enjoy!!
