Absolutely hate it.
Yesterday the weather forecast predicted a cooler day today
No rain here or anything. Muggy as hell.
Supposedly tomorrow is a bit cooler. Is this even reliable? Why cant they get the weather right. Aarrhdjdjd ndkskwowjshdbdbdnm

Just checking in from the badlands of Lewisham, darkened skies and the wind is picking up.

To be fair, neither Reigate nor Caterham are in London boroughs; they're both Surrey. But when you look at places which are but are on the borders - Croydon, for example, (more so than Richmond or Twickenham necessarily), I'd say that they absolutely do represent the multiculturalism, diversity and urbanisation that London epitomises - if not necessarily as much of the history. I can't comment on other outer London boroughs as I haven't lived in them.

More importantly, it's raining! Absolutely pissing down.

DD and I are geeking with the lightning maps.org app in the garden. We're in SE London. Plenty of storm action within half hour drive of us, according to the app, nothing here yet.

Her friend at work in Sevenoaks has reported the thunder scared the bejesus out of her!Grin

bobotit · 13/08/2020 15:48

My post specifically mentioned Zone 6 though & those areas are in in Z6 & plenty of people who live in those areas say they live in London.

However I do know a few Mitchamites & Croydenites who are very proud of their Surrey roots so it works both ways.

Just south of Greater London and heavy rain and storms here. Loving it and the cooler temperatures

GreyGardens88 · 13/08/2020 15:56

Rain and thunder here in zone 2 - the heatwave has officially broken in London

Holothane · 13/08/2020 15:58

Last night dreadful for me I sweated all night I’ve had enough of this, in jimmies in front of fan.

bobotit · 13/08/2020 16:00

The heavens have opened!

MarshaBradyo · 13/08/2020 16:07

Ah rain for my garden

bookmum08 · 13/08/2020 16:10

THE RAIN HAS ARRIVED !!

absolutehush · 13/08/2020 16:14

IT IS HERE

Shayisgreat · 13/08/2020 16:14

It's happening! It's finally raining in sw (greater) London. Some great thunder as well. Bliss.

bookmum08 · 13/08/2020 16:14

Slightly off topic but last year I went on a school trip to Charles Darwin's house. Out in the countryside. Fields. Tiny one track road. Thatched Cottages. One bus an hour.
But it's Zone 6 and that one bus an hour was a red London bus and all.
It's was weird. Very weird.

MaureenMLove · 13/08/2020 16:15

Envy. Still sitting. Sit waiting. My map shows that Basingstoke is getting a bit of a pasting!Grin

doadeer · 13/08/2020 16:18

Where are you? I'm in zone 3 north London. A couple drops is all!

bookmum08 · 13/08/2020 16:19

Oh it's stopped. That was disappointing.

bobotit · 13/08/2020 16:19

my rain has stopped

SimonJT · 13/08/2020 16:19

Teeny bit of rain here in Shoreditch, but it is quite windy.

JustMeAndMyTins · 13/08/2020 16:20

Reporting that it’s been pouring off and on in Camberwell for a couple of hours (with a little bit of thunder). Temperature has considerably dropped outside but my flat hasn’t got the memo yet (despite the fan)!

bookmum08 · 13/08/2020 16:32

The teeny tiny bit of rain has woken the parakeets up though. They are all screeching at each other.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 13/08/2020 17:04

Parakeets making a lot of noise, but its so much cooler now it has rained.

DDog seems a lot happier although squeezed herself in a corner when the thunder was overhead.

MaureenMLove · 13/08/2020 17:10

Sky is as blue as ever again, in my neck of the woods! Very disappointed!

doadeer · 13/08/2020 17:37

Sun is streaming through my window. No rain

FinnyStory · 13/08/2020 18:30

I've given up hope and watered the garden. What's the betting the heavens open within the hour? Grin

DoIneed1 · 13/08/2020 19:09

Rained for 10 mins or so in SW London around 330 ish. Still very warm though.
