Absolutely hate it.
Yesterday the weather forecast predicted a cooler day today
No rain here or anything. Muggy as hell.
Supposedly tomorrow is a bit cooler. Is this even reliable? Why cant they get the weather right. Aarrhdjdjd ndkskwowjshdbdbdnm

This super nerdy website allows you to track lightning strikes in real time.

Youngatheart00 · 12/08/2020 21:53

That’s really interesting @DillonPanthersTexas

But NOTHING over London 😫

JackPaul · 12/08/2020 21:54

I'm laughing at all the 'london - not quite london' comments. Great distraction 😂

OP posts:
AriettyHomily · 12/08/2020 22:02

Se London, no rain and still muggy but only 84 in my room now compared to 92 yesterday

userxx · 12/08/2020 22:06

Getting very breezy outside now in south Manchester, coolest it's felt in days, think I've just heard a wheelie bin fall over....... so excited!

BillyAndTheSillies · 12/08/2020 22:15

East London here and it is muggy as all hell, feels cooler outside but inside is horrendous.

Part of me wants the storms, but we are living with PIL's at the moment who has a very anxious dog and I have a feeling it would be a noisy night if thunder started. DS2 hasn't slept well for what feels like a week now, DS1 would sleep through a hurricane and not even realise.

I just feel permanently dirty at the moment. And my boob sweat is unreal. This weather is absolutely fine around a pool with a cocktail. Not so great dragging a four year old on nursery runs and trying to convince a sweaty 10 month old to nap when he's so hot he refuses to be touched.

bookmum08 · 12/08/2020 22:28

South East London here. Not the slightest whiff of rain.
I want rain.
I want rain.
I want rain.
(Hoping if I say it 3 times it might rain?)

turnthebiglightoff · 12/08/2020 22:33

I'm in South West London and nothing!!!!

DillonPanthersTexas · 12/08/2020 22:35

South East London here

So not proper London then

TheVanguardSix · 12/08/2020 22:41

West London here... Hammersmith/Chiswick area. Where's the flood?! I want my flood! Good grief, it's so clammy and hot. I had a migraine all day and of all fecking days... of ALL of them... today was the day the bookings for the Playdate Zoo At My House went live. Everyone was knocking on our door to 'play'. Feck off! I am not a nice, welcoming parent once the mercury starts pissing me off. It's just too hot to be kind.

TheVanguardSix · 12/08/2020 22:42

only 84 in my room now compared to 92 yesterday

Only 84? Refreshing! Utter bliss! Grin

Bingowingslikeashieldofsteel · 12/08/2020 22:42

@Talia99

Currently pouring down and 21 degrees in the Midlands.

I’ve got all the windows open to try and cool my flat a bit - I managed to keep it to 25 inside today by closing all the blinds but the lower the starting point tomorrow the better.

I’m trying to decide if I’m OK with leaving the upper windows open all night in the living room.

Are you actually the Midlands though because it's still warm and no sign of storm here in my midlands... Grin

OP I was in That There London yesterday (the actual proper bit) and it was an absolute fucking nightmare. It's not often I wish storms on people but if I could, I would.

bookmum08 · 12/08/2020 22:45

Oi Dillion I know we don't have the tube down here but we are proper London. Or Sarf Landan as the locals say.
("If anyone asks you were born in Surrey" I say to my Croydon born daughter Grin)

Choochoose · 12/08/2020 22:48

Finally heavy rain and thunder and lightning here, doesn't seem to have cooled down yet though!

justanotherneighinparadise · 12/08/2020 22:51

The weather forecasts are so crap at the moment are t they? My poor DC I’d covered in itchy heat rash even though I haven’t let them out in it. He’s gone to bed with calamine lotion on him. They reckon thunderstorms tomorrow where I am and cool weather thereafter. God I hope it’s true.

DillonPanthersTexas · 12/08/2020 22:53

Or Sarf Landan as the locals say.

There be dragons

Pixxie7 · 12/08/2020 22:54

Rained here, SE this morning doesn’t appear to have made much difference. Seems muggier than ever, just hoping for some relief, although shouldn’t really complain I suppose.

Batfinklestein · 12/08/2020 22:54

East London. I’m sure I heard thunder this afternoon. But... no rain.
I’ve just had my third cold shower of the day.

Fuck this.

DillonPanthersTexas · 12/08/2020 22:55

I actually showered uaing the hose pipe in the garden yestersay.

PickleSarnie · 12/08/2020 22:57

I'm East Midlands. It's about 20 bazillion degrees. We have been forecast a storm which keeps getting bumped. I fecking hate it. It was 30 degrees in my bedroom last night at midnight, it's 29 degrees tonight which is pretty much as hideous

Apparently weather forecasting hasn't been as reliable the last 5 months because they rely on data from planes. But there are significantly less planes. .

AntiHop · 12/08/2020 22:57

@Hairthrowaway

Richmond and Twickenham can be considered “Greater London” though. So not quite actual-London
Both areas are in the London borough of Richmond, which has been a London borough since 1965. You'd better get your knowledge up to date @Hairthrowaway!
bookmum08 · 12/08/2020 22:58

No dragons Dillon but we do have some dinosaurs. Rwaaarr.

DillonPanthersTexas · 12/08/2020 22:58

I'm East Midlands

So not London then

Pippapotomus · 12/08/2020 22:59

I’ve just arrived back after a long weekend in Cornwall. There it was low 20s, cloudy with a breeze. We were out all day, didn’t break a sweat and not too hot. Our elderly dog had a wonderful time on the beach, in the pub and exploring.

We got back and the humidity hit us getting out of the car. Doggo looks miserable.

TheBananaInPyjamas · 12/08/2020 23:01

So fucking miserable and sick of it!!!!

I have summer SAD and this week has just been unbearable.

In South London (near Wimbledon) and there's not been a single drop. This summer can fuck off. I can't wait for cold weather!!
