Absolutely hate it.
Yesterday the weather forecast predicted a cooler day today
No rain here or anything. Muggy as hell.
Supposedly tomorrow is a bit cooler. Is this even reliable? Why cant they get the weather right. Aarrhdjdjd ndkskwowjshdbdbdnm

Is anyone else hearing "I AM London" in their head in the style of that scene in Spartacus ?

MarshaBradyo · 12/08/2020 23:03

Ha Bookmum I am now

DancingLady · 12/08/2020 23:05

😂😂 bookmum.

I'm Catford (SE London and yes it's definitely london). No bastarding rain and my bedroom is 29 degrees c. I just want to wear jeans again.

Shayisgreat · 12/08/2020 23:15

This heatwave is making me wish (for the first time ever) that I hadn't left Ireland.

I'm in south west London (definitely greater London, not London proper) and we didn't have a drop of rain today. Lots of thunder and clouds during the day and more comfortable than last night but I'm dreading trying to sleep again.

soundsystem · 12/08/2020 23:16

30C in my bedroom in East London (definitely actual London!). Cooler outside... perhaps I should sleep in the garden?

I'm sure the forecast said rain in the morning? 🤞🤞🤞

Kpo58 · 12/08/2020 23:23

AIBU to no NC with my in-laws due to not sharing the rain with me today? Angry

Apparently Epsom Downs got rain, but I just listened to thunder for much of the afternoon. Now I'm not sure if the noises I can hear are thunder or aeroplanes.

OhToBeASeahorse · 12/08/2020 23:25

Kent here. DS (almost 2) hasnt slept through for a week and a half. I'm 32 weeks pregnant.

It is shit.

JanewaysBun · 12/08/2020 23:29

Proper SW London here and not a drop!

MrsA2015 · 12/08/2020 23:32

@DancingLady @edwinbear

Fellow s.e here ,catford/lewisham MOUNTSFIELD park area.

Absolutely baking and CAN NOT WAIT for the house to cool. 36 weeks pregnant too and utterly miserable

Hairthrowaway · 12/08/2020 23:33

@AntiHop nah, it’s “Greater” London, you can’t sit with us real Londoners 👐🏻

Allthecandles · 12/08/2020 23:41

The storm in Twickenham was AMAZING. Hail like golf balls....ok butterbeans but still the biggest I’ve ever seen.
It stripped the leaves off the trees so now it looks like a tornado has swept through.
I’m trying to balance my thoughts between hoping there is more thunder and lightning tomorrow but also that no one gets hurt in the storms.
That’s Twickenham, Middlesex but also Twickenham, Richmond, London, UK, Earth, The Milky Way since 1965 when DP is telling anyone 😂

MissClementine · 12/08/2020 23:46

I’m struggling in London too, beyond hot and I have building work going on so the house is messy, dusty and hot! Have been looking forward to the rain all day and it still hasn’t come.

NCParanoia · 12/08/2020 23:46

waves to bookmum im also with the dinos! -and way too bloody hot-

baroqueandblue · 12/08/2020 23:48

Woolwich SE18 (London) here...

Not a drop of rain since I can't remember when and baking indoors. So over it. On the phone to DM up North earlier and she rubbed it in by boasting that she had to close the garden door coz it had started raining. To be fair though, she did say it wasn't making the slightest bit of difference to the stifling temperature Hmm

I'm sat here with a window open but the room stinks of citronella coz I hate mosquitoes as much as I hate being roasted alive Grin Listening to new age music with rainfall in the background, and it helps

Titsywoo · 12/08/2020 23:49

Christ.

Anyway down here in Surrey (zone 6 and inside the m25 so technically greater london but not even a london borough) its still really oppressive but it's like every tiny bit of rain or hint of a storm keeps scooting around us! So annoying.

JackPaul · 13/08/2020 03:43

I have been up since 2:50am.
My skin is so sticky. I feel so dehydrated despite guzzling litres of water.
Roll on Friday, if the weather forecast is accurate!

We had a thunderstorm and a ton of rain and it is no less hot and humid. Cannot sleep at all

TheBananaInPyjamas · 13/08/2020 05:42

Can't sleep here either, don't know whether to keep trying or just resign myself to the fact that I won't get back to sleep and just go sit outside

MarshaBradyo · 13/08/2020 05:51

The night my dd doesn’t get into our bed and I’ve been awake, drat. Rain keeps getting pushed back.

CarrieFour · 13/08/2020 06:13

Zone 6 here (so 100% not London! May as well be North AfricaGrin)

Not had a sniff of rain yet. I now have 3 weather apps I'm checking (off on a UK holiday next week so I'm going between them in case any will give a dry forecast. - Nope)

Apparently maybe at 7am.

But it sure feels lovely laying naked with the bedroom window open right now.

DoIneed1 · 13/08/2020 06:41

South West London here and it is raining gently and definitely cooler today.

JackPaul · 13/08/2020 06:48

It's raining here too!

Blankscreen · 13/08/2020 06:52

I'm in Reigate Surrey and.we've literally just had about half a minute of rain.

Come back normal English weather. I'll never moan again .

Vinorosso74 · 13/08/2020 07:10

Still no signs of rain here. Looks like we're in for another warm night tonight. It's too hot to sleep! Going to Sainsburys this morning so will enjoy the coolness in there.

Vinorosso74 · 13/08/2020 07:31

Ok, we just had a small amount. Cat looks disgusted by it.
