Absolutely hate it.
Yesterday the weather forecast predicted a cooler day today
No rain here or anything. Muggy as hell.
Supposedly tomorrow is a bit cooler. Is this even reliable? Why cant they get the weather right. Aarrhdjdjd ndkskwowjshdbdbdnm

We’re in Shoreditch, it was measuring 29 in the flat last night. I left the balcony door open but it faces into a little courtyard so you don’t get much of a breeze, plus the neighbours were having really loud sex with their windows open.

To make my night even better my cat sleeps with me, so she was snuggled into my side, the puppy needed the toilet at 3am, then just after 4am my son got in bed.

Roselilly36 · 13/08/2020 07:42

It’s awful, we are on the south coast, no storm last night for us, just light drizzle. The humidity is making my MS symptoms worse, and I just feel poorly, I will be so happy when the weather breaks.

Palaver1 · 13/08/2020 07:44

I love it ..anyway winters coming soon.

DillonPanthersTexas · 13/08/2020 07:52

Never knew Ned Stark posted here.

Talia99 · 13/08/2020 07:59

18.5 degrees outside this morning. I have every window wide open in the hope I can get it cooler inside before it gets warmer outside. It’s currently 23.5 inside. I know it’s meant to be much cooler from tomorrow on - I’m definitely looking forward to it!

userxx · 13/08/2020 08:03

Don't get me wrong I am a summer person 100% but how can you love this? I'm working in an office with no air con and it's stifling, the steering wheel in my car burnt my hands yesterday!

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 13/08/2020 08:06

Yay, much cooler with the rain.

Hopefully won't spend the day dripping with my glasses constantly falling down my nose!

LaurieFairyCake · 13/08/2020 08:07

I've just felt the first rain drops in Blackheath

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 13/08/2020 09:02

We’ve finally had some reasonable rain from thick grey cloud (SW London) but now the bastard sun’s coming out again. 🙁

It is cooler (so far) though - this time yesterday the thermometer outside the kitchen window was registering 36+ - now it’s 23.8.

pasteldechocolateconchispa · 13/08/2020 09:03

This morning is lovely.

Night time can fuck off, I honestly sick of the heat. I love summer but this is doing me in even the backs of knees are sweating didn’t even know they could sweat

Ke1o9 · 13/08/2020 09:03

I've hated the heat this week. It's breezy outside today so far but it's due to get hot after dinner.

I hate heat it makes me feel sick and irritable.

It's meant to be 27 this afternoon. Aghhh

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 13/08/2020 09:06

Yesterday’s downpours did seem very localised. Dh got caught in massive rain/hailstorms just the other side of Richmond Park, cycled home soaked. On our side we got sod all.

Youngatheart00 · 13/08/2020 09:27

Still nothing here 😫😫😫😫

Obsessive checker of the iPhone weather app (why, I don’t know, it so famously wrong) and anticipating the promised rain / storm only to find its been pushed back another 3 hours IN TO PERPETUITY

annabel85 · 13/08/2020 09:38

The problem in the UK is the humidity with how muggy and sticky it gets. And houses not being equipped for the heat and more geared towards the winter months. Added to so many wfh at the moment rather than in air conditioned offices.

30 degrees in London is not like 30 in a coastal Spanish town for example.

Youngatheart00 · 13/08/2020 09:45

Oh to be in a coastal Spanish town (my trip was cancelled 😫)

summersolstice43 · 13/08/2020 10:02

PLEASE send some of the heat up this way, I'm in the North East and its dull, miserable and drizzling. Although I'm sat at work so I'd only be complaining if it was hot and sunny and I couldn't get out in it.

GreyGardens88 · 13/08/2020 11:02

Looks like there is a storm moving North over the channel according to the lightning map

soundsystem · 13/08/2020 11:50

I'm disappointed the promised thunderstorm didn't arrive this morning! Looked like it might briefly, but now back to baking hot with not a cloud in the sky. We've run out of ice cream, and melon, and are down to our last few ice lollies 😱

MarshaBradyo · 13/08/2020 11:55

Really sunny, it’s very nice today actually bit will see about storm

BeaUnder · 13/08/2020 12:01

North london is much cooler today. Still no rain here.

missingmum · 13/08/2020 12:09

I'm in Herts and is fucking awful, I feel like I've got a hot hairdryer blasting in my face constantly, promising storms at around 4pm today, currently pure blue sky with blazing sun. Too hot for kids, haven't cleaned the house since last Thursday as it's been 34 -36 since then 🥵

lollyfog · 13/08/2020 12:26

It's so annoying. On Sat I was searching for some more fans & nothing was in stock until Tues/Wed. According to the weather reports the storms would be coming Wed so thought I would leave it. It's Thurs & still 29 today! 🤬

dontcallmelen · 13/08/2020 12:32

Southeast London here, had some rain in the night & was a slight breeze this morning, given way to unrelenting sunshine now it’s feels like the tropics actually feel quite unwell now, my heart palpitations have been like a banging drum the last couple of days, just want it to cool down a bit😩

absolutehush · 13/08/2020 12:53

@Youngatheart00 like when a train is delayed by 10 mins but as each minute passes they add a minute to the arrival time... only ten minutes away and yet you've been waiting for 30!

Proper SW London here, clear blue skies but a decent breeze today, thank god!

MinesaBottle · 13/08/2020 13:07

I’m loving the breeze (SW London too), it’s the first day all week I haven’t had the fan going.

We were really put out by shots of rain and hail in Twickenham and Richmond yesterday evening on the London news - we’re not that far away but we were sat watching telly in our undies with the garden doors wide open and the fan on Sad. DH reckons our lower council tax meant we missed out on the rain.
