We’ve just had the mother of thunderstorms!

bloodyhell, haven’t experienced one that ferocious for years! Terribly loud thunder, the type that shakes your home. Flash flooding too in some areas.

But now we’ve got sunshine and warmth again🙂

Have you had a thunderstorm?

We were promised rain at 5pm. Now might be tomorrow. It is too hot!

@DGRossetti We’d planned to sit out to look for meteors last night but ended up lightning watching instead.
Barr Beacon would’ve been a great place to view it. We have a common behind our house with great views but it was far too humid to walk up the hill.

We’ve just had some really loud thunder and it’s raining. Heat and humidity-wise though, today has been the worst so far

Sat in the shade in my garden absolutely melting and am starting to hear a couple of rumbles but I don't expect it to come to much. I'm in Bucks and it normally skirts the Chilterns. Saying that I was in Aston Rowant last night watching the lightning when DH texted to say he had thunder with a huge downpour but it all stopped within minutes. I then spent about an hour in the garden at midnight watching the lightning but no storm.

I wish we would have one 😃

There is a band of lovely looking rain currently in the channel. Please don't dry up before you reach north Dorset!

I can hear thunder but no lightning, rain or drop inn temperature. SO.HOT.

Just had a beautiful thunder storm here and I am loving the breeze!

Has been hotter than hell in London and this feels like heaven - hope it lasts for a while as haven't slept properly for days.

It feels hotter right now than previous days although I’m sure it’s been 32 then too

Mega storm here in Surrey right now.

Looking at the map, the storm forecast for 6pm is going all around us but missing us completely.

A good half hour of thunder getting closer one flash of lightning...no rain.

It's still 35 bloody degrees here & more humid!!

I go to France for this heat! But I go where there's interesting things to see, cocktails made for me and a RIVER to paddle in. Not bloody concrete suburbia in a hot box 🥵

We had some storm clouds building up but they went with no delivery of the promised storm, now another one of the lying bastards is building up but it's all fur coat and no knickers.

S Lakes. It's over 30°C here and the thunder has been rumbling for an hour or so now, but no rain, no wind and no lightning. The thunder sounds like it's quite far away. Probably creeping in over Morecambe Bay.

Ah our one has been pushed back again. BBC promised 2pm then 7pm now 12pm tomorrow. I feel conned

We had a lot of lightning without thunder yesterday when we were meteor watching.
Today we've had a lot of thunder without lightning.

And not much rain either time.

A violent storm here at the moment in middle-ish England. Thunder, lightening and torrential rain. Fabulous, I'm loving it.

we had one last week, burnt a house down in the street next to mine, completely destroyed it. i used to love them now they scare me!
