bloodyhell, haven’t experienced one that ferocious for years! Terribly loud thunder, the type that shakes your home. Flash flooding too in some areas.

But now we’ve got sunshine and warmth again🙂

Have you had a thunderstorm?

We had a storm at about 8:30 last night. The sky went black and the rain came down, and god, did the rain come down. We were in the pub ordering a curry but the curry never came because, first there was leaks coming through the ceiling, then water was pissing through the light fittting, then through the smoke alarm, then a massive piece of the ceiling came down. We all had to evacuate, fortunately my house is about 80 yard away, but we literally paddled home through 6 inches of water. Never seen anything like it. My curry turned into a fishfinger sandwich cos that was all I had in. There was flash flooding all over town, the ceiling of the local Asda was falling down and it was carnage.

You can see through the windows of the pub from Ds’s window and it’s just full of water in there. I feel awful for them, as if they’ve not had enough to contend with already this year.

My garden is a bit of a mess now but nothing that can’t be fixed.

We finally have rain and thunder. Am so glad as feel so ill in the heat. And we have a whole day of this, BBC weather must have rectified my complaint. Grin

Cooler here north of Bath but barely any rain, few minutes of very light drizzle. Paths and road dry.
Still praying for torrential downpours or will have to water the garden. Again. 😡

Finally had some rain in the Midlands last night although it still didn't cool the house down, and no thunder. Grey and drizzling today but isn't stopping dd from floating in the paddling pool with a canopy over her!

I'm in North somerset and we're still waiting for the storm that was promised yesterday, (although we did hear 3 rumbles of thunder in the distance and a couple of lightning flashes away in the distance as well). Still hot, still muggy and no rain.

Dull and overcast in Gloucestershire, not sure which was more grey - the Severn estuary (we look out over it) or the sky.
