Does anybody else feel like crap due to the heat?

I'm a very pale person and don't bode well when it's this hot. I'm in London where we've had absolutely roasting, humid weather.

My flat becomes sauna-like and no amount of having the fan on or opening window's makes a difference.

For days I've felt completely drained, weak and nauseous.

I'm not moaning, I'm glad people take joy from the sun, I'm just wondering if anybody else finds they've been feeling very bleugh too?

oldraver is it possible to decamp and sleep downstairs somewhere?

Yep still suffering. Still feel hungover. Bleeeeugh.

Tap water yes, in bottles we already have.

We don't tend to throw water bottles away in the summer as we often need them on weeks like this. We freeze some so they're icy cold whilst defrosting and keep others filled up and in the fridge for a constant supply of cold water.

I find that once it's very cold the London tap water doesn't taste unpleasant (to me)

We found a supplier that will zip over boxes of glass bottled water - I think they were originally ‘for the trade’ but have now decided to deliver to everyone. Bloody brilliant! Next day delivery and they are lovely (plus they sell industrial amounts of yummy food...)

I hate it so much. I felt so weak and pathetic yesterday that I genuinely struggled to get up the stairs at home. How people actually go out and do things in it is beyond me!

That sounds wonderful Serenity, would you mind sharing with me who the company is?

DH and I braved the outdoors yesterday to go for dinner and it really was a struggle.

The food was delicious but no air on in the restaurant (to help stop the spread of covid) and the only ventilation was the open door and windows which was just bringing in more heat.

I spent the duration of the meal mopping sweat from myself

I’m drooling over cheese at the moment...

Grilled some goats cheese last night for a salad. (Yes the grill was on in this heat ?!) couldn’t eat it all. Put one in the fridge and have just had cold blistered goats cheese on crackers for breakfast. Wonderful.
Cheese rocks but it is a bit sweat inducing in this heat.

Why is my bloody weight going up??? I still walk my 10k steps a day, work our twice a week and can’t eat because it’s too bloody hot.

Yep same here. First summer with my boyfriend too. He is mixed race, tans easily and beautifully and he is convinced it's just a reluctance to tan.

We went out at the weekend when it was only 24°, we were mostly in the shade, and I think he finally understood that it actually makes me ill!

It has to he 40° plus for him to start feeling like that. I think of bebdead by then. Doesn't bode well for the relationship, I feel...

Apparently our bodies are more likely to retain water in the heat. Keep a track of your measurements.

Plus, you might also be eating too little if you can't eat due to the heat.

serenity me too ! Mine is puffy water retention as my body is coping and maintaining salts and minerals balance. (I think?)

Btw my forecast had a momentary 15% chAnce of rain around an hour ago. Needless to say it did not rain. I was so upset.

But I don't like the taste of tap water.

The taste of tap water varies. I didn't like the taste of the water out of the tap at my old house. The tap water in my current house tastes fine.

I feel hideous today. Im in East Anglia and the humidity is the highest yet.

I actually don’t know what to do with myself and The children keep demanding things like breakfast and lunch

Have had to sort out all my animals and do some chores before it got too hot, it was only 28° when I had finished that at 10.45. Woke up in the night feeling I couldn’t breathe and literally stuck down to the bed 🥵

32/33 here today and sunny. Damn it’s so dry and sticky.

Yes feeling awful heady and sicky, I went out for my birthday meal last night and felt like a fat sticky sweaty mess ! My eight year old daughter is incredibly ratty with it all too. Roll on autumn !!

Really struggling now, will have to invest in air con unit.

It's one of the best investments I ever made - I can cope with the day heat a lot better now I've not had a sticky restless airless night.

The other godly investment that's getting us through is the plumbed in water and ice dispenser on the fridge. I can only drink tap water icey cold.

Not happy. Not happy at all.
