I wonder what our overseas members make of these barking mad thread titles Grin

Ibake · 27/07/2020 22:23

Checking in

Dowser · 27/07/2020 22:24

If we’ve only had 7 more deaths presumably in the last 24 hours, then surely it’s time for Britain to get back on its feet.

Or are we so deep down a rabbit hole, we can never get out?

GuyFawkesDay · 27/07/2020 22:27

Want a Cornetto from the shop?

Dowser · 27/07/2020 22:28

We’ve had a zoom dowsing session, bloody hate them and our leader is talking about continuing in this format till January
We normally meet outside over the summer and a church hall from October
Surely by now he can see we are not a threat to one another..especially as he’s talking about meeting at the weekend outside
This does not make the slightest bit of sense at all

RubberDinghyRapids · 27/07/2020 22:29

Gentle with that peace lily Wink

I think PMT week is brewing... again... 5th cycle of lockdown. PMT #1 hitting the week that the world was really unravelling. That was a fun combination.

DS2 does not do personal space. Last time we slept in the tent, it wasn't so much that he was on my pillow as all over my hair. I snapped at him this evening as we'd just got back from our bloody walk which had been delayed by the discovery that the little sods took advantage of being allowed to play Pokemon Go on my phone and old phone, to delete the parental controls app.
Pretty dumbshit of them as it is used to grant them extra time Grin
I was cheesed off with them because it was a breach of trust. Funnily, they were rumbled surprisingly quickly as I wanted to download and approve an app onto their tablets and quickly noticed the absence of the app. Their attempts at feigning innocent accident didn't last long as I growlled the words "week long tech ban" and they simultaneously fled into their rooms howling and sobbing like a dementor in a supermarket without a one way system and not a mask to be seen Grin

So yeah, by the time we actually did our bloody walk and trespassed into the padlocked playground and gone home, I was sitting down between actions on cooking dinner, and I had DS1 with the globe yapping at me, and DS2 trying to use me as a bean bag. As much as I'm thrilled on a personal and professional level at DS1's ability to be enthralled by a globe, my brain was past it for the evening. I had to tell him 5 times that I was tired and ignoring him.

I can still hear them giggling upstairs.
DH tends to take to our bed and the TV in our room in the evening, and it's me and the fish downstairs. I CBA to put the TV on in the evening. I'm done on people. Although the TV is a moot point as the bastarding thing has died... possibly of boredom after every Unspeakable/ 2B2T/ Grian youtube video about Minecraft for the past 4 months Grin

I like the fish. They don't talk at me and only need feeding once a day and a pinch of fish flakes is a no brainer. Grin

It's only week 20 of the 6 week holiday...

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 27/07/2020 22:44

@SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito personally I think herd immunity is the only way out of this, but it’ll take a brave leader to take ownership. Hard decisions aren’t popular.

barkandcheese it looks wonderful. Enjoy!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 27/07/2020 22:45

Place marking!

rookiemere · 27/07/2020 22:46

@Dowser you've not been looking at Scotland closely enough if you think a reduction in sadly coronavirus deaths to in Scotland's case NIL, means you might get a normal life back.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 27/07/2020 22:46

@BogRollBOGOF “TV died of boredom” 😂. Tbh there might be something in that. My kids tell me the tv keeps glitching on them. NEVER happens when I’m watching something. Maybe DanTDM/Rickshaw Brian/stampy makes it want to hurl itself off the unit too.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 27/07/2020 22:46

For our sister thread, the lockdown lardarses (of which I am one!)... "it's not fat, it's power!!" Grin

Or are we so deep down a rabbit hole, we can never get out?

I fear that we may be, Dowser.

justasking111 · 27/07/2020 22:55

Oh bugger a secondary school is making masks compulsory now. That is not great, you just know they will be germ factories if worn all day.

IAintentDead · 27/07/2020 22:58

@BogRollBOGOF
Your entry read more like a blog post. ... I don't follow blog posts. ... I would follow yours.

NothingIsWrong · 27/07/2020 23:02

Hot Fuzz is awesome. Keep meaning to watch it with the kids...

Willow2017 · 27/07/2020 23:02

Bloidy hell was trying to post on the other thread as mn was trying to delete it obviously!
Chilling out watching 'The Making of Star Trek very interesting how science is attempting much of the things in original series and finding out some of it isn't as far fetched as we would think. 😄 I want an invisibility cloak asap.

The bastarding TV is only 11 months old. Bought after we gave up on the missing remote after 3 month's absence. To be fair, the old TV was aging in terms of technology, and it had got to the point where I couldn't stand yet another episide of The Handmaids Tale mumbling on without access to subtitles with no remote and basic controls only Grin

First week of lockdown and I found the old remote deep in a random crevice, very deep in the sofa. I'd searched the sofa so many times as it is a greedy, guzzling type.

At least we can drag the old one out if the new one needs sending off and there's a gap in having a current functional TV. There's no space to put it up yet.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 27/07/2020 23:05

@Willow2017 where are you watching that?
