Who wants a guess (for fun) whether I will get kept in hospital

LaurieFairyCake · 25/07/2020 13:04

and obviously lighthearted as probably not going to die

I'm in A and E
Sent by my GP
As my face on one side has swollen up very badly
Gp said he was worried about sepsis
Definitely wanted a blood test
Said I probably needed IV antibiotics

No itching so not been bitten
No tooth/gum problems
No ones punched me Grin

Guesses?

Hope it's not too long a wait to be seen OP. I reckon you'll be home tomorrow once you've had IV antibiotics.

Trumpetpants · 28/07/2020 00:19

Hi, am so glad that you went back. Really hope that you get seen soon and that you feel lots better soon x

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 00:28

Ok. More evidence in time wasting

They've taken the woman who was complaining (and having endless phone conversations) about not being seen yet in.

Just because someone is on the phone / watching something, It doesn't mean they arent seriously ill

FrustratedMess · 28/07/2020 00:30

Iv been in with kidney failure twice and a bad case of viral Hepatitis and to look at me, I looked ok

FinlandFlag · 28/07/2020 00:32

Glad you went back

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 00:32

I'm sure that's true Frustrated

She and her tv were just very loud and very complainy

OP posts:
LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 00:34

I'm sure I'm just creating pain now but it's actually hurting IN my eye now

OP posts:
Flibbertyjibbit · 28/07/2020 00:35

I'm often on my phone reading Mumsnet in hospital to distract me from my falling apart body.

Have you had bloods done this time?

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 00:37

Not been seen yet

OP posts:
MsJaneAusten · 28/07/2020 00:40

Ouch. That looks painful. Hope you get seen soon. Is DH with you?

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 00:42

No ones allowed in to accompany anyone

OP posts:
torthecatlady · 28/07/2020 00:48

Sounds like it's going to be a long night! Hope you get seen soon! So you can update the thread. Grin
Also can you speak to reception and say that it's starting to hurt?

ChanklyBore · 28/07/2020 00:50

I hope whatever it is you are seen soon and it is a simple recovery. I’m glad you went back in.

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 00:58

I know it's ridiculous but I was seen much quicker on Saturday when it was ten times as busy - so it's definitely making me think I'm not a priority

lborgia · 28/07/2020 01:01

Well tbf, you could've gone at 4pm in the afternoon, and then you wouldn't have dealt with the complaining women.

And you probably would've been seen more quickly.

And you wouldn't be so unwell for so long, so, you know, we could all do better.

Bridecilla · 28/07/2020 01:08

Probably less staff on at night time. I've had IV a couple of times for cellulitis. Drip in and done in 30 minutes then a nurse came and did a 2nd one at home the next day

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:09

Some blokes kicking off swearing now

I'm feeling really hot and unwell now, nauseous

OP posts:
ineedaholidaynow · 28/07/2020 01:09

Can you tell someone you are feeling worse?

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:10

I'm in urgent care - if they thought I needed IV antibiotics I assume they'd have sent me through to A and E

OP posts:
Isadora2007 · 28/07/2020 01:10

Please tell the receptionist you’re feeling worse and unwell.

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:10

There's no reception

That's back at A and E

OP posts:
Isadora2007 · 28/07/2020 01:10

And ask for a sick bowl too.

Isadora2007 · 28/07/2020 01:11

Is there no member of staff to speak to at all? They should know you’re feeling like you are getting worse.

ineedaholidaynow · 28/07/2020 01:11

Are there any staff about?
