Who wants a guess (for fun) whether I will get kept in hospital

and obviously lighthearted as probably not going to die

I'm in A and E
Sent by my GP
As my face on one side has swollen up very badly
Gp said he was worried about sepsis
Definitely wanted a blood test
Said I probably needed IV antibiotics

No itching so not been bitten
No tooth/gum problems
No ones punched me Grin

Guesses?

At least give a quiet heads up to the receptionist that you feel sick / dizzy so they can keep an eye out

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:13

The only staff are the GP's who are calling people in - they have patients with them

I really hope all is ok... thank god you're in the right place now though! If you do faint or whatever or start to be sick, you're in safe hands!!!! I'd tell the receptionist that you feel unwell xxxx

Hope everything will be ok Laurie, and they help you quickly.

If a member of staff is around just let them know you feel worse.

Haggisfish · 28/07/2020 01:14

Oh you poor thing.

FrustratedMess · 28/07/2020 01:14

Next time they call a patient in, interrupt them

Tiredmumno1 · 28/07/2020 01:15

X post - I just hope they call you in quickly

Wallabyone · 28/07/2020 01:17

My son had a hugely swollen eye, and it ended up being periorbital cellulitis and it was very serious. I hope you are seen soon xxx

Isadora2007 · 28/07/2020 01:18

Can you go back to A and E? As in can you access it? We don’t have urgent care here in Scotland but our out of hour GP is in the local hospital. When ds has a seizure (it turned out to be febrile convulsion) at the OOH appointment the GP was shit so I ran through to the A and E dept and got someone immediately. I don’t suggest you run- but I think you need more immediate attention from an ED member of staff.

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:21

You're not allowed back through to A and E until they send you

They've not called anyone in to the office in last 30 minutes

OP posts:
littlefireseverywhere · 28/07/2020 01:23

Hope you get seen soon.

JaneyJimplin · 28/07/2020 01:24

Hope you get it sorted ASAP Flowers

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:26

Do you know how many people are ahead of you?

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:27

There are only 3 people left in here

OP posts:
ineedaholidaynow · 28/07/2020 01:29

How many doctors?

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:29

Unless she's here for something else (she's not) she said she was here for a plaster for her finger

OP posts:
LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:30

Not sure - possibly 2

I can't put my glasses on as face too swollen to see

OP posts:
ineedaholidaynow · 28/07/2020 01:30

Well hopefully she won’t take long

ineedaholidaynow · 28/07/2020 01:31

Fingers crossed you are next

notangelinajolie · 28/07/2020 01:35

Hoping they've called you in Flowers

LaurieFairyCake · 28/07/2020 01:36

I've been here 2 hours without being looked at apart from the Covid check

FrustratedMess · 28/07/2020 01:36

When the dr comes out to call the next person in, make sure they are aware of you and how ill you feel

InglouriousBasterd · 28/07/2020 01:37

Hope you’re in now Flowers

InglouriousBasterd · 28/07/2020 01:38

Oh cross post - when they next come out definitely tell them how you’re feeling and that you need a sick bowl. You poor thing.
