I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow which I'm sure will be horrifying as haven't since March and none of my clothes fit, so I think I know the answer!

I'll weigh in tomorrow morning too. Urgh, I'm not looking forward to that! Sad

mightbealittlebitmad · 19/07/2020 21:34

I'm in! I've put on 11bs since March and whilst my clothes still fit they look a lot worse.

It's so easy to gain yet so much harder to lose. I'm so disappointed that I've put on so much, I've put in so much effort to lose it and keep it lost for the last 2 years and now I've gone and gained loads.

I can lose it, I know I can but school holidays have always been a sticking point for me where I go off the rails a bit. I've been dreading these holidays since last summer and that was without knowing a lockdown was on the cards.

Gyms opening next week, I'll be there every spare minute I have to try help hit my target being back to 48kg by October (plus it's also somewhere I can escape to without anybody tagging along!)

Orangeblossom78 · 19/07/2020 21:37

I might try some intermittent fasting and walking. Managed the step count today, but missing swimming quite a bit. Need to lose a stone..

Abitannoying · 19/07/2020 21:41

Can I join please. Scared to weight myself but my clothes are definitely tighter and my belly is flabby. Am starting a new job in 4 weeks time and would like to lose half a stone before that. Last time I lost weight it was due to extreme anxiety (over a dating situation 🙄) so I need to be more disciplined this time as it will be harder.

Abitannoying · 19/07/2020 21:41

weigh

torydeathdrug · 19/07/2020 21:41

I'll be here tomorrow --- it won't be pretty, I was 8lbs over ideal weight a month in & it has got a lot worse since then [cry] [scream] [why]

PinkFondantFancy · 19/07/2020 21:57

Hi all! Lovely to see you all! Totally agree @mightbealittlebitmad I'm in the same position. I wasn't happy before lockdown and was having to work quite hard to just maintain. Lockdown lard has crept up on me so I really need to get a grip.

My plan of action is:

  • bin off as much sugar, wheat, dairy as I can
  • fill up on veggies
  • 20 mins of some kind of exercise or yoga each day

@Abitannoying congratulations on the new job!

I pledge to walk 4 days a week and do some squats, lunges, & stuff.

It's not the weight (well, alright, there's the start of the dreaded middle-aged spread creeping in), it's the lack of action for me. I'm getting seriously stiff and painful from sitting down more. Not good.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 19/07/2020 22:21

I'll join. Not very much lard (I wanted to lose half a stone at the start of lockdown, lost 6 lb and seem to have put 3 back on), but I'm drinking too much to alleviate boredom and lack of anything to look forward to - three bottles of wine a week or so, up from one and the odd G&T pre-lockdown. I'm already on a Jillian Michaels thread to encourage me to exercise, but a general encouragement thread is good too.

I pledge to have two alcohol-free nights a week, and to do some exercise (even if only a sodding walk) every day, as well as carrying on with Jillian Michaels when I can. I also pledge to stop eating Haribo (other sweets are also available, but Tangfastics are my nemesis). I have a bag left in the office desk drawer and once those are gone, I'm not buying more till the lard is gone.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 19/07/2020 22:22

@mightbealittlebitmad, how tall are you? 48kg sounds very light - I'm only 5'2" and my fighting weight is 50 kg.

mightbealittlebitmad · 19/07/2020 22:27

[quote ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson]@mightbealittlebitmad, how tall are you? 48kg sounds very light - I'm only 5'2" and my fighting weight is 50 kg.[/quote]
I'm 5'1 which is why I can go so low. I'm sitting at 53kg right now and am really feeling it. To be fair 48kg is pretty hard to maintain and I've never really managed it long term, I've been floating around 50kg for ages. It's not so much the scale weight but the fat percentage. Unfortunately I've been blessed with a full on pear shaped figure so my lower half is always so much bigger than my tiny top half. So frustrating, I would much prefer it if I were even.

Willow2017 · 19/07/2020 22:48

Checking in.
Need a kick up the bum. Noticed my clothes getting tighter lately and not impressed as i lost 2 stone and not about to let it creep on again. Still wanted to lose another 1/2 stone at least!
Cutting back on wine and sweets.
Work can be full on as getting busier so plenty running around there. Cant do running due to dodgy joints (not sad!)
Might try that yoga woman to see if i can loosen up my knackered back too. It's always damm sore now do need to do something. Sitting around on sofa not helping either.
Don't know if i can face the scales after what I was at the beginning of the year I may cry!😞

MinesaPinot · 19/07/2020 22:54

Can I join in. I critically looked at myself sans clothing in the mirror today. Then hurriedly squeezed myself into clothing.

I need to lose the lockdown wine belly fast.

BogRollBOGOF · 19/07/2020 23:03

I'm a short pear too. My top half may always look dainty... shame about the belly button to my knees Grin

With the grotty winter, I never got on top of the Christmas gains, plus a few more lbs for lockdown. About half a stone more than I'd really like.

I need to ger moving more, but I'm so, so overdue for the Osteopath which will happen at the enf of the month.

September should be a real game changer, getting the DCs to school (especially multiple school runs) and that makes it easier to clean up my diet and cut the carbs at lunch time and get back to 5:2.

Until then, I need to move more!

NannyPhlegm · 19/07/2020 23:15

Checking in.

Driving back home tonight and I've practically eaten my body weight in food over the weekend. It was totally totally worth it as I feel better than I have since March. It's time to get on the health wagon now though.
To begin with, I'm only going to drink alcohol on weekends, like I used to before lockdown. And maybe commit to some YouTube exercise videos?

ButterMeCrumpets · 20/07/2020 05:32

Checking in. I need to lose at least 1/2 stone but ideally 1 stone.

I am struggling to exercise so will put something in my diary today so I break from WFH to do something.

I have stopped ordering wine on the weekly delivery shop which means I have to actually bother shopping in person which won't happen cause of the mandatory masks so at least the masks issue is actually helping my waistline here Grin

ButterMeCrumpets · 20/07/2020 05:50

I am using amazon prime for exercise. Have found a 35 min program which will hopefully change my 6 boobs back into 2 with my bras.

Abitannoying · 20/07/2020 07:40

congratulations on the new job! thanks @PinkFondantFancy Smile.

MaudesMum · 20/07/2020 07:47

Checking in! I went from a size 20 to size 14 three years ago on a low carb diet - also reversing pre-diabetes - go me!! I had slipped a bit over the last year or so, but this bastard lockdown has got me back to size 18, and I have had to take out the box with my Fat Trousers in it (the ones I kept just in case). I've been too frightened to dig out the scales to know what the damage is. Therefore my pledges are:
Weigh myself
Stop buying (and therefore eating) crap
Low carb everything
Only drink at weekends

Abitannoying · 20/07/2020 07:54

Okay I have weighed myself and it is much worse than I thought Sad. I can’t say how much Blush.

How the fuck did that happen and I don’t even feel that fat ☹️.

I genuinely thought I would weigh about a stone less than I do that’s how deluded I am.

So today is the first day for me and I will check in this evening.

[sobs]

Snowdrop30 · 20/07/2020 08:02

Can I join? I've managed to lose 5lb in 3 weeks and have a stone to go. For me it's peri plus lockdown. I've been struggling with my weight for a few years now, and think I need to find a new, long term way to eat and exercise. Am doing 16:8, portion control and couch to 5 k

Snowdrop30 · 20/07/2020 08:03

Hand hold @Abitannoying - been there

PinkFondantFancy · 20/07/2020 08:08

Oh wow my weigh in this morning has given me an almighty kick up the bum :( I'm 82kg this morning Sad normally 75kg, would much prefer to be 72kg ish. 1.5 stones?!?!?!? ARGGGGHHHHH! Right well if that's not an incentive I don't know what is.....
