@Drivingdownthe101

Not a bad day. Within my calorie limit on MFP and due to having 5 kids look after today I haven’t sat down and done 16000 steps! I don’t get the evening munchies, but I do find it hard not to crack open a bottle of wine at this time 😩
I know exactly what you mean, I hit the wine every evening at the moment! I bought a bottle of something called Not Vodka, which doesn't taste bad (although it doesn't taste much like vodka either). With decent tonic and a slice of lime it's OK and not too sweet, so I had one of those earlier, and plan to have mint tea when I've finally chased DD into bed.
Drivingdownthe101 · 20/07/2020 21:44

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson I need to find a non alcoholic drink that feels a bit ‘special’, not the kids’ orange squash that I raid when I don’t drink wine!

There was a you'll have to get your steps up as I was finishing up. I told him that we are going to fall out over steps.

When I was in peak condition pre covid I didn't go walking other than hiking. I am not forcing myself to do something I don't enjoy.

Went swimming in the sea again this evening after training. Freezing but lovely. Kept me away from the cupboards. Resisted the lure of a 99.

Today I have stuck within my calories and hit my macros. A win.

How did everyone else do?

Sorry on double post

Willow2017 · 20/07/2020 22:15

Not getting far on healthy eating today as was too knackered this pm to make anything so had a sauasge butty! But work was hectic so my steps will be high! Colleague who doesnt walk around like a maniac at 100 mile an hour as much as I do had 12000 the other day and said mine must be way higher than that! (I should get a pedometer just to check I must walk miles a day!)
Wine and low cal tonic now pepsi max. Cant eat any dairy in pm so no biccies or cake and ds1 made 'faux angel delight' which will have to wait until tomorrow for me Sad

Need to get some food shopping and get some more healthy options in for us all but it wont be till wed as working till 9pm tomorrow.

Wish I could face swimming in the sea, its on my doorstep. I love a paddle and mess about but am a crap swimmer tbh I just love water. But the north sea is a bit too cold still for more than paddling for me. It does invigorate me though, even when its cold I will embarass my teens and paddle up to my knees. (grin) I have 3 days off this week so I might take the plunge if the beach is quietish and weather good Shock
@ButterMeCrumpets Men lose weight much more easily than women, which is incredibly unfair. I've just had a lovely stir fry, and am about to have a nice herbal tea. Bored already...
This is true. Way back when I had a ton to lose and did WW, dh lost more than me, without trying. When we've done MFP together, he's counted badly and still lost more than me.

PickAChew · 20/07/2020 23:43

Meals well moderated which I'm good at. Not at all tempted by the banana bread I made for the boys because I bloody underbaked it. Had wine, cashews and crisps, this evening, though which probably outdid my 9000 steps.

BogRollBOGOF · 21/07/2020 00:05

Well it wasn't a sedentary day. I was productive on housework and had a 15 min walk to collect DS1's friend. That's the positive spin.

Fitness class on Tues though Smile

ButterMeCrumpets · 21/07/2020 05:46

Definitely unfair that men lose it more easily. I had to work very hard last year to lose 1.5 stones while he was still stuffing his face full of snacks in front of me. Now it just seems he has got it easier because we both need to lose weight so he doesn't have that temptation as we have no snacks in the house. Yes I am bitter Grin

Worldgonecrazy · 21/07/2020 08:47

I cracked and bought chocolate but only ate one bar so that’s progress. I also did an awesome HIiT session when I got home. Check out Caroline Girvan on YouTube, she’s my new fitness guru. Very motivational and has the grace to look sweaty.

I’m taking long walks at lunchtime and think I will be okay today. I think there is definitely a link between dementoring and chocolate eating.

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 21/07/2020 08:55

Oh, I am so glad I found this thread. I am in. Gained a stone in lockdown last time I checked but frankly I am too scared of my scales to check again.

I do loads of exercise, running, online hiit classes, walking. Exercise is definitely not my problem. My problem is that I just love food. Pretty much all food. I have been stressed as hell since all this started so eating and drinking obscene amounts. And I mean obscene. Blush

Worldgonecrazy · 21/07/2020 08:58

@TooManyPlatesInMotion. I always try and remember one glass of wine equals one doughnut.

(I love doughnuts - once ate six on 10 minutes)

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 21/07/2020 09:04

@Worldgonecrazy I love wine and doughnuts, ideally at once.

It's time to sort this out!

SpnBaby1967 · 21/07/2020 09:17

Sorry, I'm late to the game as I've been so busy.

I started dieting on 10th July when I realised I was a stone heavier than I thought I was.

I was 12 stone 4lb Shock week 1 I lost 4lb. Week 2 weigh in was yesterday and I was still 12st but weight this morning and I'm 11st 14lb so lost something at least.

Last week I ate a lot less than the week prior so dont know if maybe I was eating too little and my body therefore refused to let any fat go?

I want to weight 9.5-10 stone ideally.

I know I dont exercise enough. I have karate but I spend a lot of time teaching it which isnt as energetic as actually doing it. I need to find something else.

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 21/07/2020 09:56

@SpnBaby1967 in relation to the exercise, what kind of thing do you fancy and how much time do you have to spend on it?

There are some good online options. I have been using Fiit - great range of classes including cardio, strength, yoga, pilates, plus training plans and a supportive online community. I cast the classes onto my TV and squeeze them in. Some are 25 mins so easy to fit in.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 21/07/2020 15:52

When are the gyms due to open in the UK?

Today's eating going well. Craving something sweet though. Nothing nice in the cupboards thankfully.

Tonight I'm off to reformer Pilates and might hurl myself into the ocean after.

Blobby10 · 21/07/2020 16:13

My gym is open from this weekend and I am booked in for between 3 and 6am on Monday and Tuesday so far. Can't wait!! I'm so bored with just cycling on the road and my self-control over my food intake has disappeared somewhere - I'm eating so much rubbish just because I can and I feel so rough because I'm consuming so much sugar Sad. Im hoping that getting back into my morning routine again will really help

For those craving something sweet, what about a cup of tea with sugar? someone once told me that we can easily burn off the calories from a teaspoon of sugar and it will do much less damage than giving in to the craving for a monster bar of chocolate at 500 calories!

ButterMeCrumpets · 21/07/2020 16:23

I managed 30 mins exercise and only one bar of chocolate today. Salad later so I don't feel guilty about the chocolate.

Ordered some tops and they are a bit small. I need to decide whether I will lose the weight and fit into them or to send them back. They are one size to small so not terrible but not something I can wear right now.

ZiggeryZaggy · 21/07/2020 16:36

7lb on. And I was trying to lose 10lb before lockdown.

I don’t feel like I have been eating that much more really - but less movement. I was always rushing around before, with a walk part of the way to work, or even up and down the stairs at work, popping to the shops at lunchtime.

Now... I work from home and only have a slowish walk with the dog everyday.

Actually, I discovered Uber eats during lockdown, and a new pizza place. That might explain a bit after all.. Grin

ButterMeCrumpets · 21/07/2020 16:42

I too miss the activity I used to get just by being in the office as I would walk around a lot more.

ISaySteadyOn · 21/07/2020 17:03

Can I join?

I miss the school run and walking DH to the station. That was my exercise then.

I mostly find exercise other than walking excruciatingly boring and difficult too which is a bad combination so any suggestions on combating this would be helpful.

I think when my local leisure centre reopens, I am going to see if they do those aquarobic classes and if they do, I will sign up. Have any of you ever done those?

PinkFondantFancy · 21/07/2020 18:36

Hello all! @ISaySteadyOn welcome! I did aquaaerobics once upon a time, it was nice! Music, noone can see if you're doing it right, low impact Grin

I'm in the same boat as others re activity, if I was WFH I'd be walking to and from school, and the office involves a 5k walk. I've started trying to get out each evening for a bit of exercise which hopefully should help a bit

Exercise going well (biked to the office and back, an hour each way), but unfortunately a colleague had brought in homemade sausage rolls, so food not going so well!
