@Rumblebear

Thanks *@PinkFondantFancy*! Wine spritzers a good idea- I prob need a few weeks off just to get out of the habit and then slowly introduce a couple of drinks on a sat or sun. I'll try those videos too!

Not a bad start to the day-i find it easier when it's so hot as I don't fancy massive portions! Has anyone elses partners done the opposite in lockdown and lost weight? I discovered yesterday that DHs waist is an inch smaller than mine now! And when we married I was practically half his weight (he's lost his muscle bulk and Ive chubbed up!)

DH has lost a couple of stone and he looks so much better. The stories of obesity and covid was his wake up call and he is very motivated to get into the healthy BMI category.

I blame him for my weight gain though as he bought all the biscuits in lockdown but it was me that ate them Grin.

I am hovering just above the healthy BMI and am finding it harder to get the motivation but I am not gaining anymore which is good.

Rumblebear · 07/08/2020 19:30

That's great about your DH @ButterMeCrumpets. I think covid is making a lot of people reassess. I hear you about the biscuit eating though! We only buy them for him yet I end up eating just as much as him....

Am trying to see this as a long term thing now, and if I lose the weight over a few months-but keep it off and stay healthy-I'll be happy. It's all on my belly, which concerns me a bit.

ButterMeCrumpets · 07/08/2020 19:41

I am an Apple shape so all my weight is boobs and belly on two sticks Grin. Short as well so hard to carry off well.

Dowser · 07/08/2020 20:02

Was doing well but not yesterday and today
Damn you mr Dowser and the home made onion bhajis you bought 😡😡😡

PinkFondantFancy · 07/08/2020 21:49

Mine's on my belly too. Though it's 10kg worth so can't all be on my belly, must be a bit everywhere :/

Had a much better week on exercise. I've been doing 12 mins with Mr Motivator as a warm up then a C25k run, done the week 1, 2 & 3 runs so far. I'm not reapeating them as I'm not at couch level, more of a confidence booster to build up the chunks of running as I'd become very lazy about walking big chunks (and just about every hill) and stretching my muscles out little and often.

I've signed up for a 10k virtual race to do in September.

I could potentially have a HM in November still. It's a smaller, regional race so not beyond the realms of possibility to safely manage to distance the numbers.

I have now lost track of what races I have and when.

PinkFondantFancy · 08/08/2020 11:06

@BogRollBOGOF I'm struggling with not just walking as soon as the breathing gets hard at the moment. I think what doesn't help is running alone - when I'm at parkrun say, I pace better because there's others around so I both end up not going off too quick and also not wanting to walk Grin

That's the trap that I've fallen into really badly and why I've gone back to C25k to gently wean off the habit. I did 10 miles on 4th July. Admittedly far more walking than running especially after the first hour, but definitely not couch standard.

I'm finding that my enthusiasm is kicking in again after my longest lull since starting running nearly 7 years ago. I'm wanting to tick the next run off. Previous lulls have either been after a big race or during winter/ very hot weather but rarely last more than a couple of weeks, not months.

Had a rest day today as my legs were a little tired. Tomorrow is due to be 5.1 3x5 mins. DS2 needs dropping off at football and there's a nice flat park nearby so I'll head off there.

I say today was a rest day, it was a 5 mile walk at child pace. My legs were fine for it though.

Afternoon All. Checking in. No dramatic weight loss to report here. Six weeks back at training and I still look like a bag of shite.

Well done @BogRollBOGOF for getting back into the running. It's hard starting off again.

It's all good underneath though Wink

Had a lovely morning in my favourite park. The hydrangea gardens are open (limited season) and I did some yoga with adriene there, followed by warming up with Mr Morivator then run 5.1 (3x 5 mins)

NowYouListenToMeFella · 10/08/2020 13:55

😂😂 That sounds like a lovely morning. I am back to work after a week off. Not so much fun.

I'd say I'm in for a bollocking later for being so lax with MFP. Ah well. I wasn't too too bad but there was gin, beer and treats. Fair bit of exercise done so hopefully that will make up for it

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 10/08/2020 15:05

I’m having a week off and not getting on the scales! Gin and treats definitely feature (not beer, but only because I don’t like it.) I am doing some yoga, though.

Dead right. Enjoy your week off.

No bollocking for me. On my drive to the gym I passed a lady with anorexia. God love her I have never seen a thinner person.

It made me grateful for my overweight body that gets me from a to b, allows me to lift heavy weights and be in good health.

While I do want to lose weight I'm going to stop being so hard on myself when it's not going as fast as I would like.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 12/08/2020 10:49

Have I killed the thread 😬

ButterMeCrumpets · 12/08/2020 11:08

Checking in. Still doing exercise in the week with weekends resting.

Just downloaded some apps for training as I am finding the videos boring with their preamble.

Eating out this weekend which won't help but looking forward to it Grin

NowYouListenToMeFella · 12/08/2020 11:56

What apps Butter?

NowYouListenToMeFella · 12/08/2020 11:56

Enjoy the eating out. We have no scheme here to encourage us to eat out.

ButterMeCrumpets · 12/08/2020 11:59

I have amazon prime and I stumbled across Lumowell videos as they are only 10-20 mins long. Good for targeting specific areas like arms, stomach, cardio.

I noticed they mentioned apps and there are a few on the Apple Store. In app purchases so I don't know how much 'free' stuff as I plan to start them tomorrow.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 12/08/2020 12:16

Thanks. Let us know how you get on. I'm still tipping away at the exercise. Had reformer Pilates last night. So hot, I don't think I ever sweated as much at it. Gym this evening.

This week better so far on the food front. All two and a bit days of it 😂

NowYouListenToMeFella · 19/08/2020 22:45

How's everyone getting on?
