This one's for mutual encouragement to lose the lockdown lard! Regular AD chat continues here

I've had my fitness class. Went up the weights a little this week as I've ached less the last two weeks. It was uncomfortably humid part-way through, but scoffing crisps on the way there helped with the salt for sweating.

We're planning a wild, river swim next week after the session...

NothingIsWrong · 21/07/2020 22:10

I ran 7km. Hopefully will balance out the McDonald's for lunch. I desperately need to get back into the habit of logging in MFP.

Also I need to stop drinking. I am drinking far too much and it's just empty calories.

PinkFondantFancy · 21/07/2020 22:40

Wow impressed with all the exercise! I went on a slow pootle on the bike for an hour this evening which was nice but don't think it probably burned more than 5 calories. I've found about 3 or 4pm is my absolute flashpoint for wanting a snack. Find myself knackered and starving

Morning. Went to Lakes yesterday so ate out (bad) but walked 8 miles (good). Friend sent me this!

@Ibake :o

Was hoping for a longish walk to sainsburys and back, this afternoon, but the forecast is horrendous.

ButterMeCrumpets · 22/07/2020 08:56

Ibake love it Grin

MaudesMum · 22/07/2020 09:05

No exercise for me, but I have been eating better - trying to get back to a low-carb way of eating which I know works for me. Got worryingly excited when I discovered that rhubarb and blackberries are low carb, as I have both in the garden - just need to get round the fact that sugar is needed to make both of them palatable. I may will end up having a couple of drinks tonight, as we're going to a beer garden, but I'll be driving which will limit the damage.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 22/07/2020 09:06

Morning All. Ibake that's brilliant.

I am getting into this sea swimming malarkey. Went to a different beach last night. Slightly less cold than the one I was at the last few times. Loads of dolphins swam across and we're jumping in and out.

When I was a kid my mother fashioned changing towels for us. There was elastic through the top and Velcro to close it. Not sure how it would go down me asking her to make me one now 😂 Probably can buy stuff like that nowadays.

Blobby fair play on the super early gym sessions. 3am I'd be crying getting up

Blobby10 · 22/07/2020 10:47

NowYouListenToMeFella I won't be getting there at 3am (!) but the block to book is 0300 - 0600 and I usually go 5-6am anyway. I'm not totally crazy Grin

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 22/07/2020 12:52

I had a crap day yesterday but been better today. Apart from drinking tea with sugar in, which I'm just not willing to give up yet!

No exercise yet (I hate it) but eaten well rather than inhaling crisps and chocolate like yesterday.

ISaySteadyOn · 22/07/2020 13:57

Trying to drink more water and eat less. Ironically, 3 DC means it is harder to get out to exercise due to at least one needing me at all times. Hmm

ButterMeCrumpets · 22/07/2020 14:21

I just did a 15 min workout. Went to start another and I just gave up after 5 mins as my heart wasn't in it.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 22/07/2020 17:09

I was wondering blobby. Well done crumpets.

Was in aldi there and it is hard to walk by all the nice treats that I want to shove into my face.

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 22/07/2020 17:14

I ran 5 miles yesterday but then had wine. Blush.

Today I have done a longish walk, about 15000 steps. Tonight I am going to do a hiit class. Going to have a night off the vino too. It is such a waste - empty calories.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 22/07/2020 20:18

PT and I have come to an understanding re steps. There shall be no more mention of them. A win for the day.

May I ask how often do people weigh themselves? I never did before but as PT not allowed to do weight and measurements at the moment I have to do them myself. I am trying to stick to once a week.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 23/07/2020 07:24

I had a mixed couple of days- I’ve exercised plenty, but also eaten and drunk a lot. On the other hand I’m not going to beat myself up for that as the eating and drinking was with actual real people in the same room! I had food that I hadn’t cooked and didn’t have to clear away, and shared some wine with colleagues.

Today I’m back home after a couple of days working in the office: this will be a booze-free day and I’ll try to get the eating back on track. I’m just drinking coffee and nerving myself to do an exercise DVD.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 23/07/2020 07:25

@NowYouListenToMeFella, I weigh myself once a week if I’m trying to lose weight- I don’t normally bother otherwise.

PinkFondantFancy · 23/07/2020 07:37

Yeah I think more than once a week is unhelpful because it fluctuates so much.

I need to work on my sleep hygiene I think. Scroll on my phone too late and then get horrible quality sleep. I was going to go for a run this morning but I've got a headache and feel really washed out. Tired but can't sleep :(

ButterMeCrumpets · 23/07/2020 08:02

I jump on the scales most days but that's so I can see how much it fluctuates so I don't get disheartened by a bit of up and down.

BogRollBOGOF · 23/07/2020 08:59

I'm not fussed about the up and down on the scales. I know what my "acceptable" range of fluctuation is and when my body is taking the piss.
My body has joined the rest of 2020 in taking the piss Grin

Wednesday was active. I had to get the car down to the garage so ran walked a scenic route home (5 miles) and ran back down (3miles) with DS2 who chose to come along. He did well as it's a good 9 months since he's done a parkrun as he started getting too cold in the autumn. I was looking forwards to getting him back into it in the spring. I was also trying to finish my 50 runs by Easter. Ideally it would have been before but it was a bad winter of cancellations.

MaudesMum · 23/07/2020 10:47

I had a pint and a half of beer last night, but it was my first time in a beer garden since god knows when, so I don't care!! And it was wonderful. Looking for the positive, now I'm not wanting to pop to shops because of the whole mask thing, that should cut down on my buying of unnecessary food. Sigh.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 23/07/2020 12:26

Thanks all. I shall stick to once a week. I'm the sort that gets a bit obsessed about stuff like that so I need to not allow that.

Well done Maude on sticking to that amount. I'd have probably gone to town on the beer.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 24/07/2020 08:48

Morning all. I did manage my booze free day yesterday, in spite of longing for a glass of wine once DD went to bed, so that was a win. Not bad on the food front either, and I did an exercise DVD in the morning.

Today may not be so good, though I did do my DVD first thing. (@BogRollBOGOF, I’m impressed at the amount of exercise you've done!) DD is spending the day at a friend’s house, along with some other classmates. I jokingly offered to bring gin for the other girl’s mum at pick up, and she took me up on it and asked if I’d mind bringing tonic as well! So I’ll probably be joining her for a quick drink, and then I don’t think I’ll get through a Friday evening without a glass of something.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 24/07/2020 09:06

Morning all. My period hit yesterday, and combined with feeling pissed off about mandatory masks coming in I ended up just inhaling chocolate and crisps. Going to have to try harder today.

Drivingdownthe101 · 24/07/2020 09:08

My period is sneaking up on me. I am in a foul mood, and I’m starving.
On the plus side I’ve had 4 alcohol free days this week.
