I have found 2 x 15min videos. One is a HIT concentrating on the stomach and I am an apple shape and the other is a general one. I can just about convince myself to do 30minutes exercise as it doesn't feel like it takes up too much of the day.

It's so hard as I just see the fridge all day when WFH but trying to drink more rather than eat. But given that it's only 9am and I am thinking of food it might not last.

SpnBaby1967 · 24/07/2020 10:20

I weighed myself this morning, weigh in day isnt until monday but thought I'd see.

Looks like I have lost 2lb, which means I'm at half a stone loss.

Its period week soon so I expect I'll gain that week.

ButterMeCrumpets · 24/07/2020 10:25

Congratulations on the weight loss 🍾

My weight isn't moving but I don't feel as big/bloated and it's my period. I also know I can go weeks without losing a pound then whoosh it disappears. I wish weight loss was more linear Grin

NowYouListenToMeFella · 24/07/2020 15:58

Well done on the weight loss. You must be delighted.

I am booked in for a spin class this evening. Just logged off work and am lazing on my bed. No mind for the class.

PinkFondantFancy · 25/07/2020 10:48

Hello all, sounds like you're all doing brilliantly! I'm doing ok-ish. Went for a run this morning which was agony, no fitness at all at the moment so I now look like a beetroot with lead legs Confused got to start back on this somewhere I guess!!

Well done on the weight loss, @SpnBaby1967.

I’m always impressed by people who run, @PinkFondantFancy. I like the idea of being the sort of person who ‘goes for a run’, but it’s never going to happen.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 25/07/2020 12:13

Hello all. Weigh in today. I am down 1.5kg this week. So am fairly happy. Took pics to check progress in another few weeks.

Went to a barbell class this morning. Lead legs here too. My friend is coming to visit and sleep over and I need to clean the house. I don't gave the energy 😂 Mainlining coffee but I'd say something with a little more pep needed.

What's everyone up to for the weekend?

ButterMeCrumpets · 25/07/2020 18:02

Congratulations on the weight loss.

No exercise for me as I did several hours of house cleaning instead Grin.

Eating has been ok today and no alcohol in the house which should help the calories.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 25/07/2020 18:04

I cleaned this morning, and did some yoga this afternoon. Couldn’t face anything more strenuous.

DD is out at a dance workshop tomorrow so I get time to watch something I actually want to see on TV! Very excited - thinking Mrs America sounds good.

chocolatesweets · 25/07/2020 18:08

Helo , where is the new ADs thread? Thanks 😂

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 25/07/2020 21:12

Hi @chocolatesweets, it's here

Snowdrop30 · 26/07/2020 11:32

I'm a bit fed up today. Have got half a stone off and (at least) another stone to go. Weight loss is so slow in your mid 40s and I hate having to watch what I eat - even on holiday. Meh Sad

ButterMeCrumpets · 26/07/2020 13:05

Same here. Gone are the days when I could just cut down and the weight would fall off.

PinkFondantFancy · 26/07/2020 22:52

@Snowdrop30 wow half a stone is great! I hear you though, it's agonisingly slow. So annoying how much easier it is for DH too!

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson haha more like a beetroot faced plod than a gazelle like sprint Grin

How's everyone's weekend going? I resisted the urge for pastries when I went for coffee today and loaded up brocolli for my roast rather than roast potatoes. Baby steps. I suspect I'm going to need something more drastic....

Thanks @PinkFondantFancy, that's kind of you to say. Yes, I think something permanent and quite radical is needed. Looking at the MN boards of people who have got weight off (and kept it off, which is the real bugger), four key strategies stand out: making exercise a regular feature of your life, retraining yourself re: portion sizes, avoiding emotional eating, and eating mostly vegetables.

That is about the sum of it.

Being small, my body does not like giving itself away easily! Definitely harder now than it was before 35 as well.

I am counting down until I see the osteopath on Thursday. My body is so ridiculously tight that it's just no fun to try yoga or running at the moment. Plus I find muggy summer warmth hard going anyway. I've not done anything for days but can just feel my right calf being tired and crampy while I'm doing nothing, let alone trying to ger it working.

In good news, I seem to have flattened off the weight gain since June. The boredom eating seems to have calmed down.

MaudesMum · 27/07/2020 09:39

Is anyone else feeling that the new government campaign is having exactly the opposite effect (or is that just me, being incredibly grumpy?). I'm not trying to lose weight because Boris says so and I'm not trying to lose weight to spare the NHS - I'm trying to lose weight because I can't fit into my clothes and that doesn't make me very happy. One more expert on Radio 4 chuntering away about healthy eating, and I'll go out and buy a pie...

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 27/07/2020 09:42

Morning all! Just weighed myself, 12 st 10, so three pound off from last week. Not too shabby considering I've been on my period this week and pissed off about masks so not been eating well.

I want to get to 10 and a half stone eventually, am 5'11" so that would put me in a good place BMI wise, and while I've been down to about eleven and a half stone in the past (wedding diet!) I still didn't feel slim at all, so I'm hoping the extra stone off that would do it.

Definitely harder trying to lose weight with kids in the house all day, too many snacky things! Also I think I might have to rejoin slimming world and do the dreaded zoom meetings. Turns out the shame aspect of telling other people what you weigh is pretty damn motivating for me!

Yes!! I'm almost at the point of thinking, 'well, if Boris wants me to lose weight I don't want to do it! Where's my McDonald's?!' Have to remind myself that my jeans hurt my belly now Blush and that I wanted to shift a few stone before Bloody Stupid Johnson started balthering on about it.
ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 27/07/2020 09:49

It's not just you, @Maudesmum. I'm very counter-suggestible and I am exercising a lot of willpower to prevent myself eating all the chocolate in Tesco as a reaction to the Government. I have to keep reminding myself that I do want to lose weight and be fitter, and it's a form of self harm to sabotage my efforts.

The good bit is that I've lost 2 lb this week. Another 2 to go, and I want to be fit enough not to lie on the floor in a wheezing heap when I get home from work on my bike.

Me too.

And I really hate the 'good' and 'bad' labelling of foods. No food is bad in an overall mixed food group diet.

SpnBaby1967 · 27/07/2020 10:10

Morning, official weigh in today. I'm now 11st 11lb. Started out at 12st 4lb so I'm 8lb down. Grin

Wont lie though, it's not easy. I've been weighing all my food which is a right pain in the arse!

I dont think I look thinner either, probably wont look any different till I lose another stone I'd guess.

MaudesMum · 27/07/2020 10:14

Phew - delighted to know I'm not alone. Sadly, I have either put on three pounds over last week, or I was three pounds heavier than I thought last time I weighed myself - I only have an elderly set of mechanical scales and a slightly uneven wooden floor. Will now get a new battery from non-working electric scales, to hopefully bring them back to life, and will then start again. Have bought a shedload of veg to last me over the week, and very little else. And, there's no social activity planned until Friday, so much easier not to drink. Onwards!

Definitely the scales
BogRollBOGOF · 27/07/2020 23:09

I've had a late surge of activity Shock
Warming up to Mr Motivator's Daily Dozen. Then 30 Day Shred. Cool down to Adriene.

Then a bloody walk with the DCs to a padlocked playground and a bit of tree/fence climbing to sneak in Grin
