The DH wants to watch a 2010 film called rubber, it's about a tyre that goes on a murder rampage.
Wtaf....... Shall I divorce him or torture him by getting him to watch something even more bizarre?

@drigon

Thomas and the Magic Railroad ( the horror, the horror!) Gerard Depardieu and Andie McDowell in Green Card, awful!

Horatio the Talking Horse....found it On Demand and thought it would be a great family film to watch with a then young dd. Not so much low budget as no budget!! Horse was a rubbish actor! No fancy effects to make his mouth move when he 'spoke'...just a weird voice over with him stood there swishing his tale and looking anywhere but at the camera! About 60 minutes worth of pointless shots of scenery to pad out the running time as the lousy plot would only stretch to 30 mins of story. An hour and a half of my life lost never to be regained 😴

drigon · 21/07/2020 01:59

Oh yes! @homemadecommunistrussia, it was frightening in its shitness! A dreadful, nonsensical story, apparently devised by the then-ruler of the Thomas empire, Brit Allcroft. You also had Peter Fonda monotonously "phoning it in" as Grandpa. Actually, Alec Baldwin did pretty well considering the material he had to work with (we may have analysed this at home occasionally!)

HermioneMakepeace · 21/07/2020 02:04

Where can we watch Rubber? My DH would love that Grin.

Worst film ever is definitely Japanese Story.

EboracumNovum · 21/07/2020 02:18

InappropriateFire is Evolution the one where they kill the alien by shooting a metric fuckton of dandruff shampoo up it's arse? I remember quite enjoying it at the time ☺

Vanilla Sky is God awful, ditto Eat, Pray, Love...the book as well, pile of overrated self-indulgent crap.

Donkey Punch springs to mind - 3 northern girls cop off with 4 posh lads on holiday in Spain and head out to see of the yacht they're crewing. One of the lads accidentally kills one of the girls in the middle of a dubious sex act which another lad is filming, and it all goes downhill from there.

I'm not sure if it's terrible or just not my thing, but it does include a naked Tom Burke so...y'know

Deathraystare · 21/07/2020 07:33

I forget the title but it was a Serbian film. It involved a man being forced to be in porn movies then a guy gets his revenge on him by making him and a friend fuck two females who are disguised and it turns out to be the man's wife who the friend fucks and the man's daughter that the man fucks.

Not nice. I believe they all get killed in the end.

Emmagen · 21/07/2020 07:40

My husband likes Kevin Smith films. I think they are ok but there was a new one a few years ago that he was really excited about.

A dude turned into a walrus slowly and graphically. It was unpleasant and yet still boring and I'm not sure there was even a reason given he just did.

It's been kinda useful though as every time I want to see a film he's unsure of I just remind him that he made me watch the walrus film (if small ears aren't around then it's the fucking walrus film) and he gives in!

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 21/07/2020 08:08

Worst film that got good reviews:

The Tree of Life.
Pretentious bollocks and felt like 10 hours long. A collective sigh of relief in the cinema when it finally, blessedly ended.

Worst film overall: Sex and the City 2. There are no words.

tsmainsqueeze · 21/07/2020 11:29

sleepless in seattle - dragged there by friend, hated it , especially meg ryan .

Somethingkindaoooo · 21/07/2020 11:59

Wolf of Wallstreet - about 2 hours longer than it needed to be

Dirty Dancing- whiney girl falls for surly older guy

LockdownLoser · 21/07/2020 12:02

Triangle

35andThriving · 25/07/2020 15:21

Eat, Pray, Love was pretty bad. Also one called Where the Heart Is. I can't stand Elf either.

IHeartSusanDey · 25/07/2020 15:25

A River Runs Through It. So unbelievably boring.

JillGoodacre · 25/07/2020 15:25

Paul Blatt Mall Cop

molifly14 · 25/07/2020 15:26

Little miss sunshine

LovelyWeekAway · 25/07/2020 15:43

The Machinist

Match Point - this is the only film I’ve ever walked out of the cinema , utterly dry and boring

OilyHomer · 30/10/2022 23:23

Gutterballs

BashfulClam · 30/10/2022 23:38

Creep, oh my god it was actually shite! I paid for it as it was an in demand sky thing yonks ago. It sounded quite good. It was absolutely rotten.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 30/10/2022 23:59

Pulp Fiction. Predictable and boring.
Harry Potter Films. Load of old cobblers.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? I hate Clooney with a passion and he was especially awful in this.
Total Recall the remake with Kate I can’t act for toffee Beckinsale.
Lord of the Rings - only saw the first one and almost lost the will to live.
Avatar. Utter nonsense.
Frozen. Dire.
Planet of the apes remake. I love the original films, this was so bad I could cry.

molifly14 · 25/07/2020 15:26

Little miss sunshine

I’d forgotten about that. My daughter as a young teen uses to like watching that and I must have seen so many bits of it whilst she watched it that I may as well have seen the whole film. The dreadful lead actress played one of the most unlikeable characters in a film.

dropthevipers · 31/10/2022 01:45

Orlando. The epitome of pretentious wank. Tilda Swinton 's "acting" is only marginally less wooden than throwing an IKEA chair into the room.

stayathomer · 31/10/2022 05:18

Paul Blatt Mall Cop and little miss sunshine are two of my favourite films, they’re my ultimate feel good

Harry Potter films, which I had to endure, pile of crap, although liked the Ron Weasley character.
Think the same of the books, well 1st one I read, badly written, or not to my taste and years of other childrens boarding school books regurgitated.
