The DH wants to watch a 2010 film called rubber, it's about a tyre that goes on a murder rampage.
Wtaf....... Shall I divorce him or torture him by getting him to watch something even more bizarre?

Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels. Went to see it with the ex-H and, even as we went in the cinema, the manager expressed surprise that I was going to see it; he was less surprised when I’d left less than 20 minutes into the film (20 minutes of my life I’ll never get back) and gave me a refund of the ticket price - he even told me he’d said to my ex that it wasn’t the sort of film he thought I’d watch (we used to go to the cinema regularly and chat with the manager who knew ex’s best friend)

Many of the other films mentioned here are on my list of ‘don’t waste time going to see that film’

@Dreamingofaholidayyy

Carpet fitters vs cannibals

Yes you read that right and the title explains the film. Honestly the worst thing iv ever seen.

Oh.My. God. You know I’m going to be looking for that, right? 🤣🤣
redlaces11 · 19/07/2020 01:13

The happening and the terminal with Tom hanks

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 19/07/2020 01:15

@TooGood2BeTrue

Inland Empire Murder on the Orient Express (2017) Mimicry Twilight (my husband managed to get a refund for this shite from the box office arguing with them that we had expected a horror movie 😂 ) most action movies; I just can't stand them!
Please tell me this is not the Murder on the Orient Express with David Suchet?? (Er, sp??) Yet to see it, but I love the book, and his portrayal of Poirot. Be gutted if this is crap!
nancy75 · 19/07/2020 01:15

The Master with Philip Seymour Hoffman - bloody hell, thats 796 years of my life I’ll never get back. It is so long & so bloody boring. Dp made me watch it about 6 years ago, it’s probably still going on.
The obvious rubbish like mama Mia, sharknado but you can laugh at the crapness of those, there is NO laughing at The Master

Nikhedonia · 19/07/2020 01:19

AI or Unbreakable. Bloody awful

HooNoes · 19/07/2020 01:32

Fences. One miserable hour of my life spent waiting for something to happen until I gave up. Utter shite. Think it won an award too!

Gingaaarghpussy · 19/07/2020 01:35

Mosquito coast. Walked out within 5 minutes.

Ffsseriously · 19/07/2020 01:40

Space 2001 went to sleep wgen they were docking the two ships together (or some such nonsense) i woke up they were still docking. The most boring pretentious film ever. I love a bad film but not boring.

Caneloalvarez · 19/07/2020 01:52

I loved The Shape of Water! And Field of Dreams is one of my faves! Always makes me cry!

@chomalungma agree with Left Behind.. half the people on the plane (with pilot Nic Cage) suddenly disappear into thin air but their clothes are left on the seats laid out in a person shape 😂 So bad but watchable to the end.. apparently 🤔

octobersky19 · 19/07/2020 01:54

Mother

LinemanForTheCounty · 19/07/2020 01:57

@Gin4thewin Drag Me To Hell is supposed to be funny! It's a gross out schlocky comedy horror - you're not supposed to take it literally. I thought it was fab.

Agree with others that there's a difference between films that are obviously OTT tongue in cheek pisstakes and films that take themselves seriously but are actually dire. The first category, I quite like when I'm doing the ironing or cooking. There are loads of them on the Sony Movie channel and they're good fun if you're in the mood. The second category, there's no excuse for, and I'd include things like The Happening (nothing did), The Human Centipede (supposed to be boundary breaking horror, was actually risible), Vanilla Sky (took a wonderful, dreamy mind bending film, remade it with Tom Cruise shoved in for no good reason and without any of the elements that had made the original so great) etc.

ChildOfTheNineties · 19/07/2020 02:15

Eat Pray Love (I think that's what it's called) starring Julia Roberts. BiscuitGinDaffodil

ChildOfTheNineties · 19/07/2020 02:17

Oops ignore the emojis, was looking for yawn one and got a bit carried away with myself!

Scattyhattie · 19/07/2020 02:48

I normally don't mind Sandra Bullock but in Gravity, George Clooney needed to push her off into depths of space & save himself.

Oliversmumsarmy · 19/07/2020 02:57

The Italian Job.

Not the 60s one of the same name but the more recent one

Did anyone know what it was about?

Einszwei · 19/07/2020 03:01

Titanic 2

Rememberallball · 19/07/2020 06:33

Just watching the movie round up thing fronted by Mark Kermode on BBC Breakfast and it’s reminded me of another one that’s absolute shite - Anna and the Apocalypse where the storyline is about zombies in a school at Christmas turned into a musical 🤦‍♀️

At least films like the Sharknado series (and 2 headed shark attack/3 headed shark attack/snow shark are more in that vein for those who enjoy sharknado!!) are so bad you watch them knowing what you’re getting and laughing from start to finish!!

mathanxiety · 19/07/2020 06:41

Mrs Doubtfire.

Yes, I know it may be sacrilege to criticise anything Robin Williams had a hand in, but I am a single mother and that one gives me The Rage.

Skyliner001 · 19/07/2020 06:45

Love actually
The holiday
Help! Kids wanted.

Clevererthanyou · 19/07/2020 07:47

I must be on my own in really liking The Happening then 😂 H and I often talk to plants and trees saying we’re not a threat, just walking past in a calm manner and it’s guaranteed to make the other one laugh.

JeffVaderneedsatray · 19/07/2020 09:46

Eraserhead - the weirdest bunch of shite I have ever had the misfortune of paying to see. It was beyond disturbing. I tried closing my eyes but ended up having to leave and wait for my friends outside.

The other one I cannot remember the name of but it was directed by Martin Scorcese (sp?) and had Michelle Pfeiffer in it. It was set in Paris. I remember looking at my watch after it had been going for three hours with nothing happening and discovering that it had, in fact, only been going for 10. I couldn't leave that one as the cinema had nowhere to sit.

madnessitellyou · 19/07/2020 10:00

Wolf Creek. Utterly horrendous!

Brot64 · 19/07/2020 10:15

12 Years a Slave. Slept at the cinema. Tried it again on Netflix, was asleep in 15 minutes.

TuMeke · 19/07/2020 10:16

Red Sparrow. Dear God, it was dreadful. I don’t know what Jennifer Lawrence was thinking.
