Jodie Comer 'cancelled' because she's dating a trump supporter??

This is weird, right? I've just seen Jodie Comer trending on Twitter and I wondered why, it genuinely seems to be people being upset at her for 1. Being straight and 2. Dating someone who supports Trump.

Is this is a US vs UK thing because Politics really isn't as big of a deal here? WTF is going on?

Nothing in that says he supports Trump, only that he’s registered as a Republican. Plenty of Republicans don’t support Trump.

It’s just idiots on the internet.
It’s also a wider problem in society - people just aren’t willing to listen to each other anymore. The idea that ‘I’m a democrat, so we’re the goodies and the republicans are the baddies’, like they’re in Star Wars or something.
It’s so childish. We’ve turned into a planet full of immature teenagers.

I bet anything this is a tinhat thing and they’re angry she’s not conforming to their fantasies. The fact they’ve gone to such extreme lengths to cyberstalk her boyfriend shows it. They would be furious about her dating any man.

Part of the reason Trump was elected was because some registered Democrats who were Bernie Bros preferred to vote for Trump because they hated Hilary Clinton so much. Not many (statistics say around 5%) but as Nuffaluff points out being a registered Democrat doesn’t mean goodie.

Wow, looks like some people on Twitter have gone to some crazy lengths to find out more about this guy! Sure she’ll be fine, I think it’s just a minority of Killing Eve fans are extremely obsessive, and can’t remove Jodie from her character. Weird huh.

I’ve seen it and it’s ridiculous. Seems like some crazed fans who can’t cope that she isn’t gay and doesn’t love them so they’ve hacked her private social media accounts and found her boyfriend and are now attacking him.

They're probably very jealous because she's beautiful and one of the most talented actresses to rise to fame in a very long time. I couldn't care less who she is dating or not. She's entitled to a private life. The daily mail was taking photos of her at the supermarket recently. I mean who gives a shit what jodie comer wears to the supermarket?

Social media gives a huge voice and platform to the angriest loudest voices in the room, who seem to do nothing productive in the real world to get their voices heard but are vociferous keyboard warriors in made up Twitterland. Empty vessels etc.

To be fair, if she is posting a lot about BLM and left-wing activist stuff (which the tweets imply she is) and is then dating an active Trump supporter, that is a bit hypocritical and I could see why people would be annoyed. But still really creepy that people have gone to such lengths to stalk her. If her partner is just a republican rather than a Trump supporter then it’s not such a big deal.

Twitter is a cesspit, so people have really bothered to find his voter registration (why?), and also say his dad must be an arse as he has an American flag on his Twitter. Can someone make it make sense please?
