I hope really hope so too. He just seems a really nasty nasty bit of work.

Blackbear19 · 19/06/2020 20:19

It's interesting that they keep leaking more bits of news / info about him. Its almost as if they want to keep him in the news.

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 19/06/2020 20:23

I've just read a little about it on reddit, feel sick now. Can't believe he got away with it for so long. I hope they torture him.

Arewedone · 19/06/2020 22:43

Let’s try and keep this thread clear if lurid speculation.

I think it's disgusting to be informed by letter that your child has died

Blackbear19 · 20/06/2020 01:35

@Jul1911

I think it's disgusting to be informed by letter that your child has died
I imagine that is why the letters were sent via Scotland Yard with the intention that police liaison officers would deliver them.
deepwatersolo · 20/06/2020 08:25

I‘ve just read it on news.de. The now 20 year old man lived above the Kiosk CB had from 2012 to 2014. That would make the guy 12 to 14 years old during that friendship even though the newspaper calls him ‚15 year old at the time.
Surely, sharing/discussing CP with a kid of that age, even if he is curious, would count as a sexual offence against the boy, no? Though it is obviously no excuse for the heinous crime he did as an adult.
From what I read his victim was 8, and he was convicted to (only) 2 years in prison for destroying that girl‘s life. (Of course, victims can rebuild their lives, but it is surely not an easy path. And for what? For having a monster as a neighbor.)

Jul1911 · 20/06/2020 08:36

@Blackbear19 but they haven't and in the meantime there is all sorts of stuff on the media. I just think it's a terrible way of doing things

Blackbear19 · 20/06/2020 10:37

Jul1911 I get what you are saying. But the Germans did their bit they sent the letters SY screwed up and didn't deliver.
So it would have been far better for them to have been told by liaison officers and letter than the blinking telly.

Seriously can you imagine the poor sods sitting down with a coffee to hear the latest clovid news and up pops a story about their own daughter. That is beyond cruel.

LadyEloise · 20/06/2020 11:00

Thank you OP.
This thread has reminded me to write to the Portugese Ambassador re the treatment of Hazel Behan by the Portugese police/ authorities when she was raped by an intruder in her apartment.
Sad

Arewedone · 20/06/2020 11:17

@LadyEloise it’s incredible that it appears to have been swept away again with just one brief comment about CB not being linked to it. The parallels are startling.

Blackbear19 · 20/06/2020 13:18

It almost makes you wonder does CB have a hold over someone / somepeople high in the Portuguese police.

It's a pity the EU doesn't have a right to go in and investigate. In a police complaints procedure type way.

Arewedone · 20/06/2020 17:41

Oh dear Lord , the Portuguese have destroyed the DNA from Hazels rape!

deepwatersolo · 20/06/2020 17:43

What? What do you mean Arewedone? Lost or destroyed? Where did you read this?

Arewedone · 20/06/2020 17:47

Dailymail

Can't find the thread on missing Madeleine (hope I have spelt her name correct)
deepwatersolo · 20/06/2020 17:52

They destroyed the evidence DNA 3 years after the rape? Willingly or accidentally?

This could have put Brückner away if evidence for MM is to weak. WTF.

Arewedone · 20/06/2020 17:54

She identified a birthmark on his thigh and this matches, as well as him being Possibly German. Surely they must have something from the crime scene left to test!

Arewedone · 20/06/2020 17:54

Willingly destroyed

deepwatersolo · 20/06/2020 18:06

Willingly destroyed. Wow. This is absurd. Yeah, in theory they should have something left to test, but in theory they wouldn't willingly destroy DNA evidence after a mere 3 years.

I actually don't think that CB is protected by someone (though influential paedo rings are a thing that are too easily dismissed too often, just thinking of Dutroux). Sadly, I believe this is just a case of 'tourism industry über alles'.
I've just witnessed this sh*t in a very different context, when Tyrol was warmed about Covid-19 spreading in their ski resorts and Tyrol - heavily swayed by politically influential tourism big shots - basically did nothing in order not to endanger 'season earnings'. Sometimes things are just that banal.

Alwaystalks500 · 20/06/2020 18:11

It is strange how such an obvious suspect would just have been completely overlooked over years of thorough investigations when he would have been in such close proximity. Very strange indeed.
Almost too strange....

deepwatersolo · 20/06/2020 18:26

I have read Hazel's account. What strikes me is that the assailant repeatedly changed condoms, cleaned hands... Was there even enough DNA evidence? Was it enough to be sequenced? Was it even tried? (Obviously, one should still keep it hoping for advanced technology in the future).

She identified a birthmark on his thigh and this matches, as well as him being Possibly German.

But this must be worth something, no? She also seems to recognize the eyes. She might also be able to identify his voice... On what basis was he convicted for the rape of the 72 year old? (I imagine he took similar precautions there.)

Arewedone · 20/06/2020 18:29

They found a hair in the case of the 72 year old

deepwatersolo · 20/06/2020 18:32

German media are now playing up CB's connections to a woman in Oranienburg who was a drug dealer and in business with CB. Like she might know something but fear to be prosecuted for the drug stuff...

She must know they are writing about her. Looks like they are trying to smoke her out, so she will come forward with some 'case sealing' information. (I hope they have more evidence and a better thought out plan to get CB than it looks like to me.)

deepwatersolo · 20/06/2020 18:35

They found a hair in the case of the 72 year old

Ok. But come on, same operating procedure, pretty much same place and same time and some indentifying info by Hazel... Even if Portuguese police have incinerated all the evidence this should be enough, no?
