At today's briefing, definitely not himself.

People will select and vote for people they think are competent.
But the people of Christchurch keep selecting Chris upskirt Chope
and the folks in the New Forest keep selecting Julian I do not do email Lewis
and Desmondstring them up Swayne

Many local constituency parties would vote for a dead donkey if it had the right rosette nailed to it

Thanks hopeclearwater, I thought so!

Mumratheevergiving · 18/06/2020 20:19

Looks like Johnson enjoyed being PM a bit more today - ceremonial flypasts and talking about the glory of WW2 that's more like his version of the job description!

Meanwhile Hancock had to slink back to the daily briefing with his tail between his legs to explain that the world beating test and trace app is nowhere near completion.

Raab showed complete disregard (and disrespect)to Black Lives Matter

Oh and not a sausage about what the Government expect working parents to do without access to childcare options over the summer holidays in England

That GOT reference was actually quite mesmerising stupidity. I was impressed.

ListeningQuietly · 18/06/2020 21:33

Raab is so thick he did not realise that the UK was an island and that 10,000 lorries a day cross the Channel into Kent Hmm

Mumratheevergiving · 18/06/2020 21:40

I'm not averse to the GOT reference in the last paragraph of this article

What Raab said was designed to be contemptuous of BLM. Such a faux misunderstanding by association with GoT.

Listening to Johnson and Hancock, I have decided I shall never worry about not being competent enough at anything again. All the times I have read up and prepared for something were obviously a waste of my time. Just turn up and blow hot air with a brass neck. I can be no worse than the Cabinet. Erudition, expertise, standards and competence seem to mean nothing in this parallel universe.

So true. And equally, no amount of incompetence or dishonesty seems to lead to resignation/dismissal. See also Dido Harding, negligent at TalkTalk and handed the plum job of overseeing the 'world beating' track and trace app which has totally flopped.

Roussette · 19/06/2020 12:46

I just don't get why Raab would say something so tone deaf. It's obviously a very delicate subject and I can only assume he didn't engage his brain before speaking.

I do not trust that Dido Harding. She can bluster all she likes, but she and the Govt have ballsed it up. As soon as I heard we were going to do our own trace and track app, as opposed to the google/apple one offered to us, and which works perfect in Germany and France, I was very concerned.

So we've gone to a temporary manual system whereby 25,000 of the public ring up someone who is tested positive, and asks for a string of phone numbers from that person for whoever they have been in contact with, and then they ring them to persuade them to self isolate. How archaic. We have too many cases every day for this to be effective whatever Little Matty Hancock says.

Thank god we've seen sense, we are never going to diminish this virus without a decent app. I can only assume they went for an NHS homegrown one because it was a backhander to Dido or her cronies.

Roussette · 19/06/2020 12:55

And here's an article on all the U turns and missed targets. Boris looks like a shambles and it is all a shambles

The whole thing has been a shitshow from the start. Ashamed to be British.

PrincessConsuelaVaginaHammock · 19/06/2020 14:10

Raab probably said that because he's a fuckwit.

FliesandPies · 19/06/2020 14:42

Raab is so thick, such a lightweight and yet so full of arrogant self-belief. He, as much as Johnson, defines the character of this awful Government.
