Boris looks ill

At today's briefing, definitely not himself.

He needs a haircut and a decent suit that fits.
I know hairdressers aren't open but surely someone could stand a couple of metres away from him and reach out with a pair of garden shears and it would look better than it does.

I know it's a bit off point, but why do so many posters keep calling him Boris? Why not call him Johnson? It's only 2 letters more and not so cringingly chummy. Even any irony attaching to it has long, long worn off.

There are so many hints on Twitter, from commentators, about him being hung over, I wonder when we will hear he does have a raging drink problem. Much like Charles Kennedy. The people around him tried their best, but it kept being aired one way or another, And then, of course, we all knew.

I don't call him Boris. I call him many things, but not Boris. . .

He's looked shit since the Covid episode but it's not just that. It's all been a lot harder work than he imagined. Serves him right.

I agree about not calling him Boris, midsomer. It feels a bit like calling Hitler Adolf, as if he's an old pal. Vile.

I think he has looked ill for months.

I think there is something else going on. I wonder if once we hit Phase 3 which I reckon they will drag out for what feels like centuries, he will step down.

I think he’s clinging on because now is not the time for more upheaval or uncertainty.

But the eyes tell the truth and his have not looked right since before he was officially ill.

His hair is getting long but seems to be thin underneath. When he does get it cut he might have to drop the tousle haired cuddly Boris persona.

I think he’ll be around for a good while yet. I think it’ll be the inevitable scandal around inquiries into the handling of the pandemic that’ll topple him, but that could take years.

I wrote this on 19 March. OK, his health crisis wasn't merely staged, but I reckon I'm due to collect on this pretty soon.

I actually think he might retire under some excuse soon.

Look at his previous behaviour. He campaigned for Brexit; skedaddled as soon as it became real, dumping the hot potato in someone else's lap; then swanned back in when much of the hard work was done, to capitalise on the situation he'd caused.

Then he turned on a sixpence from "Get Brexit Done" to "People are bored with Brexit, don't talk about it," to distract from the delay and the inevitable failures to meet expectations.

He has zero appetite for hard work or taking responsibility. I reckon he'll stage a little health crisis and go rest in the country, leaving some other poor fucker carrying the can until the hard parts are over. Then he'll oil back in and act the hero.

I'm no fan of the guy but of course he doesn't look well - aside from everything else he has a new baby at home! He hasn't slept longer than 2 hours in one go for ages!

You're right. It's a scraggly mess. It looks like he's had mousse on it and sleep funny for a few days after a night on the tiles. He might just need to get a grade 3 like the rest of the nation!

He believed he would swoop in after Theresa May, “get Brexit done,” then resign and fuck off on holidays and public speaking gigs. He absolutely did not envision having to to any actual work. That’s why he looks so shit.

He is probably still recuperating, he has a very high pressure job, he should be at the peak of his career but he has had to deal with a pandemic on an epic scale. We are on the precipice of economic catastrophe, but he's been forced to spend money we don't have. I'm sure the rise of the far right and this BLM issue is a nightmare too. As despite his best intentions and good arguments on that, people are sceptical of anything a middle-aged white former Etonian says. Then there is Brexit and trump across the pond. Plus a kew baby and a fallout with his older kids. Poor man!
