Something just moved in my stomach..

I’ve name changed for this.

Something literally just rolled in my stomach, there was a popping sensation and now I swear I have a bump where I didn’t before. Nothing that strange until I mention that I’ve not had sex since November and I’ve had periods since then. But something is moving in my stomach, and not like trapped wind. I’ll get out for a test first thing, but I surely can’t be that many weeks pregnant and not have had a single symptom till now, surely? Please someone tell me I can’t.

It’s probably wind or your uterus contracting. It does happen sometimes - especially after having children...and it doesn’t mean pregnancy.
It happens to me very often but I never assume I’m pregnant - especially if I haven’t had sex in over 6 months...Hmm

AMostExcellentStick · 24/05/2020 17:46

I'm afraid I can't tell you it's impossible. But, a good two years after my son was born I was still feeling movement in my stomach which I could have sworn was a baby - bodies do weird things sometimes!

Still, sounds like a pregnancy test would be sensible...

ScarfLadysBag · 24/05/2020 17:46

Have you seen Alien? Grin

Are you sure it's not just gas? Sometimes it feels like my stomach is moving with it, and it was weird adjusting post-pregnancy to it.

But it is possible. A friend of mine went into labour and she had zero bump and had periods the whole way through. I'd seen her a couple of weeks earlier and she was her usual slim self, so I was amazed when I saw the FB update to say they'd had a surprise baby! It's not massively common, but it does happen!

It could be wind. But I was 26 weeks pregnant when I found out. I know people much later. And I still didn't have any symptoms until 36 weeks. Get a test

lastonetime · 24/05/2020 17:47

It's not unheard of.. was it unprotected?

inwood · 24/05/2020 17:48

Hernia?
Wind?

Rebelwithallthecause · 24/05/2020 17:49

I didn’t find out I was pregnant for 5 months

It wasn’t until I knew that I’d realised I’d been feeling baby move

I’d taken a test those 5 months before but it didn’t show a strong line so assumed it was negative and didn’t think of it again

It’s only since being on Mumsnet that I realised positive tests can need magnifying glass to see

Ohshitx · 24/05/2020 17:52

Well to be fair it wouldn’t usually be my first assumption either. But it felt so like the movement of a baby, bit having said that I don’t know what a hernia feels like.

No it wasn’t unprotected.

It's unlikely but not impossible.
DP's old housemate went out clubbing on a Saturday night. Got up lunchtime on the Sunday with terrible stomach pains and had a baby daughter by the close of day Confused

She said that her periods hadn't stopped and she didn't put on any noticeable weight Confused

I get that sometimes too, it’s never had arms and legs gas/things adjusting if I’ve eaten a lot but never a baby.

ElectricTonight · 24/05/2020 17:57

Your lunch making its way down?

Gellert · 24/05/2020 17:57

Certainly would be unusual but not impossible for it to be a pregnancy.

Teacher12345 · 24/05/2020 18:06

I have felt this loads of times since having DS ad it wasn't pregnancy.

disorganisedsecretsquirrel · 24/05/2020 18:08

My married menopausal neighbour.. had a baby at 49 years.. didn't realise until she was 7.5 months (she is quite big tho... )

disorganisedsecretsquirrel · 24/05/2020 18:08

Babe is 20 now.. and delightful...

SpookyNoise · 24/05/2020 18:12

How would you feel if you were pregnant?

Notapheasantplucker · 24/05/2020 18:12

Very possible it could be a baby, or it might be a trapped fart....Grin either way I can't wait to hear what it is!

Hoping it's nothing serious OP

LetTheSecretOut · 24/05/2020 18:12

I get this sometimes. Once it was so bad I was utterly convinced I was pregnant, I found myself stroking my belly as if there was a baby in there it was convincing.

Then I came on.

Samtsirch · 24/05/2020 18:15

Could it be a hernia ?
You should definitely speak to aGP just to be sure.
Hopefully it’s just wind or indigestion.

peachgreen · 24/05/2020 18:17

@CrazylazyJane ha, I think your DP and I might share an ex-housemate!

Aquamarine1029 · 24/05/2020 18:17

My stomach/intestines/whatever do some crazzzzy things, feelings very similar to when I was pregnant. Rolling, thumping, fluttering, etc. My husband has often said he thinks there's an alien in there somewhere. Grin

SpiderPlantSally · 24/05/2020 18:19

I occasionally get a gas bubble that feels exactly like a baby moving in there, a sensation I remember well from being pregnant.
Or at least I think it's a gas bubble. No baby has yet appeared.

Itisbetter · 24/05/2020 18:22

Have a Large glass of orange juice/similar and lie dow and wait. It’ll either kick or you’ll fart

aibutohavethisusername · 24/05/2020 18:24

Maybe a hernia.
