Something just moved in my stomach..

Ohshitx · 24/05/2020 17:44

I’ve name changed for this.

Something literally just rolled in my stomach, there was a popping sensation and now I swear I have a bump where I didn’t before. Nothing that strange until I mention that I’ve not had sex since November and I’ve had periods since then. But something is moving in my stomach, and not like trapped wind. I’ll get out for a test first thing, but I surely can’t be that many weeks pregnant and not have had a single symptom till now, surely? Please someone tell me I can’t.

I have had that feeling and i have had a hysterectomy. Just the body doing what it does

Mooey89 · 24/05/2020 19:31

It’s probably wind... however I know a woman who gave birth a few months ago and had no idea she was pregnant... so it’s not unheard of!

Lifeisabeach09 · 24/05/2020 19:31

Could be wind, hernia or pregnancy. I wouldn't bother with a pregnancy test (it tests for the hormone HCG, which declines in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters) as it will likely be an unreliable result. You need either a blood test and/or physical examination (abdomen, cervix) and/or scan.

Let us know when you've had a pregnancy test.

Soubriquet · 24/05/2020 19:33

Unlikely..but not impossible

TheTigerQueen · 24/05/2020 19:39

I know one lady who gave birth not knowing she was pregnant and another who found out at 7 month, its not unheard of.

msflibble · 24/05/2020 19:41

the first time I ever felt a baby move in my stomach, it basically felt like gas. I'd heard all sorts of poetic descriptions of it - ooh it's like a fish swimming in your belly! / feels like bubbles / just like butterflies in your tummy etc etc but it didn't feel like that for me. It felt just like a bit of good old digestive peristalsis and gas.
If you haven't had sex since November and you've also had periods, it's highly unlikely to be a baby. You would have felt it already at 16 weeks or so.

GabsAlot · 24/05/2020 19:46

i have this eve4yr now and again feels like fluttering even took a test just in case dont know what being pregnant feels like

NotQuiteUsual · 24/05/2020 19:51

I had this once, it was so convincing I was panicking. Then I did the biggest fart I think I have ever done.

notapizzaeater · 24/05/2020 19:51

Can you feel anything if you press down ?

Ive had trapped wind that felt like fluttering.

Would it be a good result if you are ?

GreenTeaMug · 24/05/2020 20:08

Making for the baby pic. :)

Thinkingabout1t · 24/05/2020 20:11

Possibly a hernia? But no point guessing. Please contact your GP in the morning and get checked up. Good luck.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 24/05/2020 20:11

Have you had a baby before op?

VisionQuest · 24/05/2020 20:14

So you'd be 6-7 months pregnant if you were? Have you been pregnant before? Can you post a pic of your abdomen?!

Ohshitx · 24/05/2020 20:16

Sorry I didn’t mean to disappear!

Yes I’ve got a DS who’s 7.
I can’t get out for a test till tomorrow as I have him at home with me.
I’ve felt it move again since but it wasn’t as strong.
Will try a glass of juice and see if it’s a kick or a fart 😫😂

If I am.. well I don’t know. I’m just not going to think that one through till I know.

I'm another one who didn't know until 26 weeks. No symptoms and no weight gain

Changeofname79 · 24/05/2020 20:22

I have that now and then. It definitely feels like baby flutters. Only has happened since having the DCs

BertieBotts · 24/05/2020 20:25

I get this and it's defo wind or the longest pregnancy in history, interrupted by an actual one!

But when I get wind there isn't an elbow poking out. Sometimes I feel like there's a bump or something after the fluttery movement but if I poke it, it's soft and defo not a limb.

If you could feel movement you'd be at least twelve weeks so the uterus would have moved up past the pelvic bone. Lie in your back and have a feel around. A pregnant uterus is pretty firm and obvious if you're feeling around there.

isthismylifenow · 24/05/2020 20:26

It's a food baby....

Ibs sufferer here. It's the colon / wind. It happens to me often. Sometimes I lay in the bath and watch my food baby move around.

Mamabem · 24/05/2020 20:36

My youngest DC is 6 and I still could occasionally swear that I can feel a baby moving around - my post menopausal Mum says the same. No new babies. Hope you get the outcome that'd be best for you OP

IndieTara · 24/05/2020 20:39

Its been 12 yrs since I had DD but I still get wind like that

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 24/05/2020 20:43

I felt like this a couple of weeks back, I did 10 pregnancy tests and they were all negative. I can only conclude it was trapped wind or something hopefully not a tapeworm Grin

Craiglang · 24/05/2020 20:45

I get this often, sometimes flutters and sometimes big "kicks". Definitely not pregnant and didn't have them before DC, or maybe didn't notice it? Look up phantom kicks, it's really common.

OnYourMarksGetSetBAAAAKE · 24/05/2020 20:47

Wind?

justanotherneighinparadise · 24/05/2020 20:50

I get it quite a lot. I’ve no idea if I always got these twinges and ignored them pre kids. Or if they came about because I had children or as a result of having had pregnancies I now associate them with a baby kicking.

All I do know is I’m not pregnant 🤭
