Can share why if you want or just share the song name. Or add a link so we can listen.

Attended an online funeral today and they played Highland Cathedral and realised it is always one that gets me. I was at this Proms in the Park that's seen on the video and I cried then and cried today when I heard it.

Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now. The lyrics and vibe stir me.

SuncreamInTheWinter · 23/05/2020 00:21

Aaah yes that's a good one.

Dance With My Father - Luther Vandross

Songbird - Eva Cassidy

Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion

Highland Cathedral definitely gets me but the bagpipes are quite emotionally stirring playing any tune I think. Do I only feel this way because I’m Scottish? Hmm.

LadyDoc1 · 23/05/2020 00:25

Nina Simone, Feeling Good

AdoptedBumpkin · 23/05/2020 00:26

I'm not familiar with Highland Cathedral but Jamie McDougall has a great voice.

AuntHilda · 23/05/2020 00:27

Joga by Björk. A truly beautiful love song.

Lollypop4 · 23/05/2020 00:29

Ed Sheeran - Happier - Seen him play this live and it was so emotional. Still can't listen to it now without tearing up.

Black - Wonderful life - Takes me back to a perfect day years ago and makes me sad that I'll never relive that day again but also happy for the memories It gave me.

Mulderitssme · 23/05/2020 00:46

Don't look back in anger. It's still hard to listen to even three years on.

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 23/05/2020 00:51

Oooh I love that Starship one. Also the Pearl Fishers Duet which was played at my DM's funeral. You can't beat a tenor.

myredcardiganbob · 23/05/2020 00:53

Highland Cathedral is beautiful, hearing the pipes always make me well up. I remember close to the end of an Erasmus uni year in Paris, I heard someone play the pipes on the banks of the Seine. Was a greetin mess, just couldn’t stop the tears. Hearing the Corries sing always gets me too.

I find this very hard to listen to, but I do because it’s beautiful. m.youtube.com/watch?v=8AHCfZTRGiI

Who Knows Where the Time Goes by Sandy Denny.

notacooldad · 23/05/2020 01:00

Bridge by Queensryche.
Really sad song about Chris Degarmo. relationship with his father who appears back in his life once he has found fame. Sadly his father dies as the album is being recorded.

Two more that stop me in my tracks are
Cats in the cradle - Ugly kid Joe version and Black by Pearl Jam.
The final lines in Black get me!
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky
But why, why, why can't it be, can't it be mine?

CornishTiger · 23/05/2020 01:01

Brothers in arms

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 23/05/2020 01:03

Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis. We had it as the contemplation song at DH's funeral and I can't listen to it now. The other two pieces of music comfort me, but this just ruins me.

Rubyroses3 · 23/05/2020 01:06

The Cinematic Orchestra- To Build A Home
